We had a highly disappointing experience with Blazin Blue Pools and the owner Ruben. We bought a house and decided to keep the same pool cleaning company the prior owners used. From the beginning, reliability was questionable. We used this service for 3 months and during this time he missed scheduled weekly cleanings and would come on unscheduled days and at random times without notice. We asked from the beginning that he text prior to coming or if he needed to deviate from the schedule. We have dogs and wanted to ask questions as we were learning our pool and its equipment. He rarely texted as requested. However, he always texted on payment week. It was also an inconvenience that he only accepted payment by check. Overall the service and cleanliness of the pool was subpar. There was build up on the pool walls/stairs. He stated it was not algae, but chemical residue that "has always been a problem" and it could not be removed. The walls or stairs were never cleaned/brushed. The pool never looked crystal clear despite having weekly pool service. When he serviced the pool he was usually in and out in less than 10-15 minutes. When we had questions or raised concerns, he was dismissive, unprofessional, did not take accountability, nor did he properly address concerns. Additionally, the pool cleaner equipment that came with purchase of the house "disappeared" between the time we went under contract on the home & closed. Not sure how/what happened (the home/pool area was gated/locked), but he brought it to our attention during our first cleaning and we paid him $1400 to replace it. The owners had been unaware. It is clear he was accustomed to doing the bare minimum service whenever he wanted with little oversight from the prior owners who were elderly and no longer used the pool. This company did not care about providing us with quality, reliable service, and seemed to just want a quick, easy check. I would not recommend Blazin Blue Pools to others. read more

Blazin Blue Pools /Ruben Rodriguez -Hired him around April or March 2023 to do pool service. Didn't brush or vacuum the pool. I checked the skimmer baskets and nothing was cleaned out, I tested the water and PH & Alk and chlorine all VERY LOW. Pool had a yellow film. My neighbor told me he went in my gate and out within 5 mins he was gone. I did this for months trying to make it work. I told him on 11/5/2023.. I no longer needed his service and why I didn't need his service. He never even replied. He just goes to the next person who will hire him and rips people off. read more

TLDR: Bad communication up front. Subs out work. Subs break stuff then disappear. Doesn't return phone calls. Called Ruben the morning of 10/24 at about 9:30am. "Uh, hello?" Sounded like I woke him up in the middle of watching a TV show. Should have been my first clue, but it was raining so I thought I would give him the benefit of the doubt. I asked if he did leak detection in pools. "Uh, yeah!" I asked him when he could come out. He fumbled around to find his desk and then said he would call me later to schedule a time for next week. Didn't hear from him again until the morning of 11/2 (9 days later) at about 8:15am. "Hey, this is Ruben, I'm on my way to look at your pool." Should have been my second clue. I hadn't contacted anyone else yet, so I thought what the heck, come on over. Said he would be here between 9:30 and 10:00. Shows up at 9:00. Seems like a nice guy. Says he is waiting on Carlos, his leak detection guy. Looks at the pool, sees it is missing some tile and begins trying to sell me on retiling. "We can do everything". Waits until about 9:45 and then says he needs to go work on a filter and Carlos would be by eventually. At this point in the conversation, it's clear that Ruben just services pools. Everything else he contracts out for a cut. Probably common, but I think it's an important consideration to know up front. If you want to ensure subcontractors to do a good job, you might want to have someone other than a pool service guy running the show. Should have just ended it right there and said thanks but no thanks. About 10:30 Carlos shows up. Seems like a nice guy, but obviously a subcontractor. We shake hands and he gets to work. Before long a 2nd guy appears, and they continue hooking up pressure gauges to check for leaks. Eventually I get curious and go out to talk. They say pressure is good on the plumbing and look confused. I mention that last time we had an issue it was at the skimmers. "Yeah, we need to jackhammer the deck and replace both skimmers." What?! I mentioned that last time it was a fairly simple fix to apply A&B compound at the skimmer/tile seam to stop the leak. "That's no bueno, need to replace both skimmers." I said OK, how much? "I have to talk to Ruben and see". Translated - I need to ask Ruben how much he wants as a kickback for finding me the project. I say OK, let me know, and head back in the house. I get back to my work and notice they start packing up their equipment. I hear Ruben outside talking to them, but I'm busy so I don't go back out. 15 minutes later I look back outside, and they are all gone. No communication, just gone. I figure Ruben would call me before the day is out, but apparently, I was giving him too much credit. He did not call. The next day I look out and notice the pool isn't running. When I go out to investigate, I find the pool timer is broken! I also see that the Polaris is not attached to the pool wall. When I try to reattach it, I see that they broke the coupling off in the wall! I guess that's why they disappeared so quickly. Called Ruben. Voicemail. Left message. Never heard from him again. Now I'm not only looking for someone to come find and fix the leak in the pool, but now to also fix the timer and the Polaris. read more

The owner is all talk, no business. Pool companies like this come a dime a dozen. Save your time and money and go elsewhere.

Didn't perform the work agreed upon in our contract. We paid upfront for half of April and through May. When we tried to come to a resolution with Ruben about the incomplete service he performed the two weeks in April he instead opted for our 30 day notice of cancellation. He did not show up to complete the services which we paid in full through May and has not returned our calls or refunded us the money for the services that were and never will be rendered. He quoted us a lower weekly price rate to begin with but then billed us a higher weekly price rate. I do not recommend Blazin blue pools /Ruben Rodriguez. In fact, I warn anyone who is considering hiring him. He's unprofessional, dishonest, and refused to fulfill his contractual requirements for the service.
