I found The Blend House Studio Pearl City by chance after searching best mens haircuts nearby. They are located above Holy Smokes and Button Up Cafe. After seeing they had great reviews and 5 stars all around, I decided to give them a call, in which I found they do walk ins. Got there and was greeted warmly by all and immediately got into a seat. My Barber, Jon, was great! He was very welcoming, asked how I usually cut/style my hair and went to work. Jon, took his time and was VERY METICULOUS. Been looking for a good place that can give my son a cool haircut. Seemed like no matter where we went, no matter how many reference photos we brought, he would always end up with a bowl cut, and I'd have to deal with the aftermath of my son's bad haircut. Hunter the manager at the Pearl City location is a true professional! My son needed to have his haircut fixed as the cut he received at the Ewa location was not what he asked for. I sent a message on their website (10pm ish) and received a call back the next day from Hunter. I explained what happened and didn't really expect anything to come from it but felt it was important for them to be aware. Hunter not only showed empathy but wanted an opportunity to make it right even though it was not his doing or even the same location as the original cut. I took my son to Hunter who fixed his haircut and let me just say it's PERFECT!! I was highly impressed with the greeting we received when we walked in the door as well as the care he showed my son. I was home on leave and looking to get a haircut before i went back to my base, and found this place online with good reviews. All of the barbers seemed to be very good, and went in as a walk in. I was taken right away and asked for a low drop fade, and a little off the top. However it seemed as though the barber was fairly new, and wasn't really sure of what he was doing. He consistently asked the barber next to us to check his work, and would be told all of the things he needed to fix on my haircut, which was already strayed far away from what I had asked for. He spent almost an hour doing my fade, and constant had to redo it, which would end up pushing the fade higher up leaving me with a very high poorly done fade, when I had originally asked for a low. I understand that sometimes this is the consequence of walking into a barber with no appointment, but it would have been nice to know before cutting my hair that the barber I would be getting is new, as I would have reconsidered cutting my hair, instead of unknowingly being a practice dummy for a up and coming barber and still having to pay full price. read more

Can fade, but can't blend too well. I have black hair and went to this shop multiple times. Three different barbers. They left my hair with the mushroom top with a hard fade line. I don't have difficult hair, but for an island, they can cut better than Supercuts. read more

Perfect fade, clean sides, no nicks on his ears, etc. I really can't say enough about the professionalism of Elvinse and his staff at Blendhouse. It's so obvious that they take customer service and excellence seriously. Making an appointment is simple, they're on time, they all greet you when you walk in the door, they follow CDC and DOH guidelines for COVID, the studio is clean, comfortable, and family-friendly, they are constantly cleaning before, during, and after cuts, and when you leave, all the barbers say thank you as you walk out the door. This is how it is each time I go there. You simply can't fake excellence like that. I've taken my sons to other barbers in town but none of them cut this well and treat their customers like this. Super cool shop! I got referred by Ikaika from the Green to check out this shop and ask for Jordan. This was my first haircut in 20+ years, I would always shave my head to keep it simple. When I walked into the shop every barber said hello. Nice clean shop very modern. Jordan introduced himself and asked what I wanted and I told him do whatever he wanted to. Blendhouse studio is THE BEST barbershop on Oahu hands down. The owner, Elvince always gives me the best cut I've ever gotten and I used to live in NY so I've got some pretty good cuts. I usually see Elvince, but all the barbers can cut REALLY good. No matter what location you visit, you will get a fire ass haircut. And YES, Elvince and ALL of the staff can cut black hair! I get better haircuts from blendhouse than I have at "black barbershops". After I did some research on Yelp , I had stumbled on "The Blend House Studio" and I read all the reviews. I decided to book my husband appointment with them through Yelp. I was able to get a response back from them quickly about my husband appointment being booked. As we entered the place , we were greeted and got told who was Keven. Keven greeted us and showed what direction was his barber chair for my husband to sit in. Offered my husband something to drink before getting started. Keven and my husband chatted a bit. And once the hair cut was done , Keven helped ring us up. Once again , he offered us something to drink before we left and saw us out the door. I don't get my hair done often so I'm not an authority on haircuts but I thought this place was great. I made an appointment online -- it was really easy. I also received reminders leading up to the appointment which can be great for busier people. Atmosphere inside is friendly. People greet you when you come in and acknowledge when you leave. I got my hair cut by Sage. He asked what I wanted and I didn't really know so I just let him do his thing. I now sport a very trendy and fashionable haircut. The only downside I see is that I'll have to use product to keep it looking good. There's parking out front and the entrance is up the stairs around the back of the building. I had a Sat morning appointment so there was space but by the time I was leaving it looked like the parking was all filled up. I don't like shelling out for much but I think I'll be back in a few months. The haircut I got here was leagues above what I'd get at some kind of chain place but only a little more expensive. read more

I'll start by mentioning the great part of this place and end with how things should be changed or retrained on. When I first arrived, the place was nice, everyone was chill and I've had pretty good conversations with the shop owner and another Barber. Their fades are great, I love the combovers, and they're lineups are pretty smooth. However, there's quite a handful of things I'd like to mention. About every 30 minutes they have appointments lined up. This sounds great in theory, but this also means their tools aren't sanitized properly. My first cut with Blend House Studio I had Elvenice (the owner) cut my hair and do my eyebrows. He did my eyebrows nicely and my cut was all around nice. I'm not sure what happened but at some point he nicked my neck and I was bleeding for awhile. I found out later he cut one of my skin tags off. The next day I noticed razor burns where my hair was cut along with my eyebrows. I learned afterward that this is caused by unclean clippers and blades. He never sprayed his tools down with disinfectant spray, wiped anything down, didn't soak the tools or hairbrush in cleaning formula. Also after the cut I wasn't wiped down with an alcohol wipe nor had my the hair that was cut dusted off my ears. I think due to the nick I got he gave me a free hair mask product (which honestly I did but more of after because it's a great product). Moving forward, the second cut I had was from an apprentice. When I arrived I told one of the barbers that I'd like the tools that will be used on me to be properly sanitized and wiped down due to the razor burns I received the last time. The apprentice listened and did all of that. I watched him use disinfectant spray and alcohol on his tools and brushes. I didn't expect him to be perfect at what he does but he did a good job. I think if he were taught how to properly work with giddies (I have two on my head) it would've looked great. Because of this I have hair that sticks up awkwardly towards the back right of my head. I think his way of covering it up was by using the hair mask to "gel" it down. After the cut he wiped me down with an alcohol wipe and boy did that burn. I knew it was normal but this hurt more than usual. Come to find out he cut a little to much of my skin off leaving it raw. I think using the balloon method would help improve his skill in this area. With all of that, I did enjoy being here and plan to go back. I wanted to make note of my experience and what could be done better. read more

We're visiting Oahu from Big Island and my son desperately needed a haircut. I found The Blend House on yelp and decided to give it a try because of the great reviews and it was extremely easy to make an appointment online. When we got there, we were immediately greeted and asked by multiple workers if we wanted something to drink. (WOW!) Jordan came out right away and got to work on my 6yr old son. He was very patient and kept checking with us to make sure everything was ok. This was, by far, the best quality haircut my son has ever received. The a/c felt awesome, my daughter was able to finish her lunch inside, grandma was able to finish her coffee, they offer water & best of all HUNTER was so amazing to turn on the tv to keep the kids occupied. Each worker was dressed appropriately, professionally making there shop feel sooooo inviting. From grandparents to young children there set will make you feel as if there shop was made for you! The seats are covered with an apron to welcome the next client so effortlessly. I absolutely loved this bc my sons 4 years old BUT his smile gave it all away showing how special he felt to be in that chair. Each person that grabbed a broom to sweep up hair, literally swept up every clients hair as the passed by- NOT JUST THERE OWN CLINTS.
