I truly believe that combining physical therapy (and now weight lifting) with regular acupuncture sessions helped me recover much faster than expected--so much so that even my surgeon was surprised by how well I healed post-surgery. Dr. Allen is extremely knowledgeable and genuinely listens to where you want the work focused. The nerve sensations and tightness in my arm have changed over time, and he has always adjusted each session to accommodate exactly what I needed that day. He truly cares about his patients and takes the time to get to know you--not just in terms of your recovery, but also how you're doing in life. He's an absolute pleasure to talk to. A couple of things to note: sessions aren't cheap ($85), but you're paying for his expertise and level of care, which I believe is well worth it. He also sees multiple patients at the same time, so there can be some delays past your appointment time--plan accordingly and allow some flexibility. I recently started going to Blessed Acupuncture to treat my carpal tunnel. Jaylin, at the front desk, was a breath of fresh air after spending the last hour being rudely turned away by other acupuncture offices. He was very polite and professional. I was able to schedule an appointment within a reasonable time frame. I was also able to easily schedule follow up appointments. Dr Allan is absolutely life changing. I had a catastrophic (surgeons words, not mine) elbow injury that left me with dozens of screws and some fancy tech from my forearm to my upper arm and a transposed ulnar nerve. After three surgeries, I was happy to have my full ROM back through rigorous PT but still lived in near constant agony. After finding out my insurance covered acupuncture, I decided "why not," as I was desperate and had tried everything else. Dr. Allan was eager to help me and couldn't believe I had just lived so long in so much pain. He explained "blood stasis" and how it was keeping my body from healing. After my FIRST appointment- and taking some traditional medicine he sold- my elbow not only felt better but LOOKED noticeably better that night. I thought it was in my head but my husband confirmed that it was less swollen and less purple. After a couple more treatments my once ropy, half-cm tall scar is now flush against the rest of my skin and pink instead of bruised. It was absolutely miraculous and my friends and family noticed the difference in both my physical state and mental state. I went in first my initial appointment, the doctor didn't have any intake conversation with me or check my pulse or tongue. When I shared that I had been receiving acupuncture for 12 years he said "why don't you go back to that person" and this all transpired in the first few minutes of the appointment. I specifically seek out eastern medicine practitioners for the quality of care and connection that is integrated in the practice. I selected this clinic because the doctor completed his training at a very respected college in Oakland where I received treatment for several years. This was by far the worst experience I've encountered in the eastern medicine world. I would not recommend this clinic due to lack of care and professionalism. read more

After two treatments my wife, family, and neighbors saw an improvement in my facial movements. After 4 weeks of treatments, my wife, family, and neighbors who know me well say I look normal and people who aren't aware that I contracted Bell's Palsy say that they would not have known if I hadn't said anything. First timer. Loved the Dr. very welcoming and knowledgeable. Answered all my questions before and after procedure. Lots of different payment options. I went for plantar fasciitis and back pain. Helped right away. Pain did come back after a few days but he did let me know that planter fasciitis was hit and miss for pain relief. It worked but pain came back quicker than I like.
