This is the epitome of what I think a Mexican restaurant should be - tiny, homey, with food that is genuine and delicious. My wife and I both ordered quesadillas - hers plain and mine with shrimp. They came with rice and pico and guacamole and we ordered a side of refried beans to round it all out. All very tasty and filling, and our waiter was attentive throughout. It seemed to be a tad pricey but who knows these days. It wasn't so pricey that we won't be back. We've finally found our go-to Mexican place in Hanover. read more

Some of the best food comes out of little, non-descript places that look like Blessing Restaurant. We were in the area and picked this one at random. We were warmly greeted in a small dining area by a woman who brought us menus and chips and salsa. The salsa had a nice complex flavor with just a bit of bite to make it even more delishiously interesting. We ordered a couple entrees. She ordered the carnitas tacos and I ordered the steak enpanadas. They arrived shortly after ordering. Her 4 tacos were generously garnished with cilantro and onions along with a side of salsa and sour cream. Mine came with 3 beautifully puffy meat and cheese pastries with seasoned rice on the side. She started in on hers before me and I soon saw a look come over her. She started picking out hard gristly pieces and I asked what the problem was. The meat tased old, like old lard. I had a bite, and concurred that was exactly what it tasted like. We've never had such terrible carnitas before. No amount of onions and cilantro could mask that flavor and the texture of hard stringy pork. She forced down one and a half tacos and I the other half. My steak empanadas were better, but the ratio of cheese to steak was skewed, so although it was tasty, it was also a cheesy mess. The rice was nicely flavored and wished I had more. We should have at least returned the carnitas tacos, but we had business to attend to later that day. I'm not sure I'd spend the money to try this again. The total bill came to $33; and if I'm ever in this area again, I know of a few other Mexican/Salvadoran places reliably better. read more

The last time I tried this place it was a food truck. Glad they have a location now. I ate in there today. It was very warm inside with no air conditioning. The menu had authentic offerings. And had a nice selection to choose from. Service was friendly and our order came out in good time. Everything was hot and had Good flavor. Even their prices were inline. They served chips and salsa. With our meal .The salsa had different look to it but was really good. That alone would bring me back. I suggest that from the size of the place. You might want to get carry out. first, the environment is so cute i loved it! they decorated very nicely! the food is a definite 10/10 for me, i ordered the chicken enchiladas and it came with a side of rice, and my boyfriend ordered the pork carnitas tacos. we both loved the food, very great taste to them, especially if you love authentic mexican/salvadoran food! kind of in the heart of hanover. worth a try, very nice people! read more

I was fascinated at first with this unassuming little place, I thought tamales were good, pupusas were yummy, and tacos were great, but by my third visit, something wasn't right, pupusas were very doughy, little filling inside, I could taste the corn dough. The tamales were hard and tasted old. The service is mediocre and the little eatery is clean. This is not a place to brag about; simply a neighborhood hole on the wall. I will not go back! read more

Love this place! Order multiple meals through DoorDash one night and everything was delicious. I got to try the chicken enchiladas and the portion size was perfect. I also tried the chicken and cheese pupusa. I've never had a pupusa so I didn't know what to expect, but it was yummy! Great option for cheese lovers - they're loaded with cheese. I went into the restaurant one time and it was a quaint place - only 5 tables or so - and the staff was very friendly. Highly recommend! read more

Each year for my birthday I try a new restaurant. This year on August 9 we tried Blessings as the new place to try. We were greeted with chips and salsa. The taste of the salsa was rather addicting. We started the meal off with chicken nachos which were good but ordinary. For our three meals we got 1) fajita mix 2) Blessing mix (fajita mix with pineapple in a pineapple shell and 3) and shrimp and cheese pupusas. The fajitas were great but could use more than 2 tortilla. The rice and creamy beans were good too. My son tried the pupusas. He loved it! He said the cabbage salad was perfect with them. We were going to top off this great meal with some flan but they were out of it. We will be back to try other things on their menu. read more

Our family happened upon this little gem today for a late lunch/early dinner. We ordered take out and had chicken tacos, cheese and chicken popusa, shrimp quesi taco and kids cheese quesadilla with a side or rice & beans. The portions are generous, the food is delicious and the prices are just right. Our drive home took about 15- 20 min but that didn't matter. The food was still hot and dinner taste soggy. Everything was fresh and flavorful. Lucky for us my husband works in Hanover so this will be an easy stop for him to bring home dinner next time.
