I'm Mexican and my boyfriend is Italian we went and were met with nice staff a nice clean business but I'm rating this so low due to the food it was nothing like we expected this was not a real mix of Mexican or Italian food my food was cold I got the taco salad with chicken all I ate was chips salsa and sour cream I got chunks of lettuce it was not cut up and my boyfriend said his was just random food thrown together I absolutely won't be going back. For all the years I have lived in York, HOW have I never been to Mexitaly before?? I guess I was worried it would be an incongruous mixture of the two cuisines- but that is far from the case. Great Mexican, great Italian, great beer, great service, and a perfect hipster ambience. We had our Valentine's day dinner here, and the place was packed but service was still attentive and timely. We had nachos to start and pizza to follow, and washed it down with some craft beers- a positively indulgent college-esque combo, but prepared in a high-quality way. Oh, and they play great music. I used to be a regular customer at Mexitialy, since the beginning. The food is not the problem, it's always great! But, now it has gotten so expensive to eat there I rarely go anymore. I haven't been there in months.... I think paying $12 for three tacos is outrageous, and I usually eat at least six tacos... That's $24 for six tacos??? Cmon man... Then throw in a beer or two, and tip. Your looking at over $40 for one person. It used to be my go-to spot, but now I rarely visit anymore. You priced me out of coming there. read more

I had my doubts that a Mexican Italian restaurant could be good and my doubts were correct. It is very tex mex and you're typical Italian American food. The actual flavor of food is pretty mid. All of us but one in our group ordered alcoholic drinks and entrees. My one friend did not order alcohol and the waitress kept repeatedly asking her if she wants a drink, even tho my friend said no. I found that rude. She also forgot silverware and some of our sides. Also my friend got an eggplant quesadilla and it only had 2 small slivers of eggplant. The tacos are anything but authentic. Really good concept here. The restaurant is super clean, has a bar and brews its own beer. I was taking a customer to lunch and he suggested this spot. We both had tacos, he went fish and I chose chorizo...added the rice and beans and it was plenty of food for a lunch I didn't even come close to finishing the generous sides. Our server was amazing and I'm sorry I didn't catch her name. She was on top of it all. And the supporting folks also really had an interest in our lunch going well. If I lived here it would be dangerous for me, I'd have to Uber in and out, while gaining major weight. But I'll be back! Support small owned businesses! read more

Great service today, I thought my burrito was pretty good. The nachos were odd, not nasty just not the best tasting nachos I have been had. My daughters pizza came out and it looked great. My burrito was a small and basically lasted me all day. It was really good in my opinion. They did not skimp on the pig meat. The ambiance was pretty cool as well. I normally Bebe eat pork, but this pizza liked so good I had to have a little bite. It was great! I was driving so I didn't get to try any of the brews, perhaps next time. Don't order seafood burrito! I got the worst food poisoning from it. We ordered near closing and ate in our car on our way home. In the middle of the night I was sooooo sick. I had gotten the seafood burrito. I emailed them about it and they wrote back asking what I had ordered. I explained everything and then NOTHING! Zero response or care. My husband and I have been here several times, and I am always pleasantly surprised with my food. From the outside, it doesn't look like much. It is located in a strip mall. However, I appreciate the vibe and decor inside. It is very much mid-century modern, and I think it looks great! It is always clean as well. The staff here is friendly and attentive, despite always unfortunately looking understaffed. I tend to go for the "Italian" food here. The pizza is my favorite - the crust is SUPER thin and crispy, and consistently perfectly well-done. Today we ordered the Mexican fries to share - which was simply a basket of fries loaded with Mexican seasoning. They were perfectly cooked fries and the seasoning was great! My husband normally orders the California steak burrito - which has steak, French fries, cheese, pico, guac and sour cream. He said it will always be his #1 choice here. Today, he went with the chimichangas. While he said it was good, he would have much preferred one of their burritos instead. Overall, I highly recommend trying out Mexitaly if you are in the area! Note: I have always gone during the week, and it has been seat yourself and order at the counter service. Today (on a Saturday), we were told to sit anywhere, and we had a waitress wait on us. Service is fast and good here. I was skeptical of the combination of Italian and Mexican at first, but it's actually really good. Allows you to play with different flavors. We stumbled upon this gem in York that I drove by many times to go to other Mexican restaurants ! We love the chicken Alfredo pizza as well as the burritos. I enjoy the menu it's creative and a twist on the norm! I normally eat in and get a Sangria. I never feel the alcohol though which could be improved. Still love this place and stop whenever we're in town from the city. My go-to has become the monster burrito with pork AND chorizo (yes, you can mix meats!). If I'm particularly hungry and my hub agrees to split it with me, I order the Mexiboli which is the best of both worlds, Mexican and Italian. This place is perfect if you have picky eaters, or just two people split on what to have for dinner. As the name tells you, the menu is basically half Mexican, half Italian, with a couple other items like loaded fries and salads. We usually get the Mexican food items, but the calamari and both Mexitaly and seafood pizzas are great as well. If we aren't sharing a pizza, my favorites are the chorizo or shrimp tacos, or seafood quesadilla. My husband is a big fan of the California burrito, with I believe the El Diablo hot sauce. My grandma once said never to trust a restaurant that serves pizza (italian) and gyros(greek). Those were the only words she spoke in English. Basically what I think she meant to say is that don't trust restaurants that combine two genres/cultures. This was way before fusion cuisine was a thing. Let me tell you I think this place does both cuisines quite well. I was fascinated by the fact they had a California Steak Burrito ($10). I haven't had a CA burrito since I lived in CA. It's a relatively simple burrito, it's just steak, french fries, cheese, pico de gallo, guacamole and sour cream, but somehow I just don't see it on menus or trust that a place could make it correctly. Mexitaly nailed it. The steak was tender, the fries and pico were awesome. Basically I need to take this burrito to the beach to get the full effect of how authentic it was. Mind Blown. My husband had the Chicken BLT pizza ($13) which was unconventional but really good. It's basically like eating a club sandwich in pizza form. It had grilled chicken, bacon, cheddar and Jack Cheese, ranch, tomatoes and shredded lettuce all over it. There was plenty left over to take home. This place is also a brewpub and even though their Blood Orange Hefe was not brewed yet but advertised, I am considering making a trip back to try it. We were in this evening (4/21/22) after not having visited in several years as the food was not good last time, but we decided to give it another shot. What a mistake... the operations model has changed; you no longer order at the counter & get your own drinks, you're served. Or, at least you're supposed to be. We were sat at a table where we hung out for at LEAST 15 minutes without being spoken to. My husband finally went and said something to the two girls who were standing together up at the counter. A waiter came over and took our drink order ("sorry we're out of lemons"), brought those back, and took our food order. The food came out relatively quickly, but my daughters nachos were nasty. I didn't try them but my husband and daughter did -- neither could eat them. He said it tasted like there was cinnamon in the cheese sauce. Our daughter ended up sharing my husbands pizza. We then sat there, drinks empty, for I don't know how long. Our waiter had disappeared. My husband flagged him down and asked for the check and a box. We then waited... and waited and waited. We watched as our waiter took drinks to other customers, served food, took orders, etc. while the other employees at the counter joked around & took photos on their phones -- at one point, our waiter included. After another 25-30 min we finally had our box and the check. It's a good thing, too as we were about to just get up & leave. Now, in the waiters defense it seemed like he was thrown out on the floor alone with no one willing to lend him a hand as evidenced by the two girls leaning against the counter joking with each other & the blonde behind the counter. If you know you're short staffed (hiring all positions sign on the door), why continue this operations model? We would have much rather ordered/paid at the counter & gotten our own drinks. Maybe then the meal wouldn't have been an absolute bust. read more

Ordered a buffalo pizza with the ranch on the side cause I didn't know if I would like it on the pizza. Came out covered in ranch. Employee asked if we wanted them to remake it because it would be 15-20 minutes if they did. Manager came over and he asked what was wrong with the pizza and when we told him he only said "oh". Great beer and great choices! I had the seafood taco salad. It was very tasty and very big. But kind of weird. I'm sure the shrimp and scallops began warm but cooled down when put on cold lettuce and covered with cold guacamole My son had a burrito. So big! It was also very good as he said. I'm so glad I tried MexItaly for lunch today. First time for both of us. My friend ordered the seafood taco salad. The taco shell looked great and the salad was chock full of scallops and shrimp and topped heavily with guac and salsa infused sour cream. She said it was good but she felt that the spice overwhelmed the taste of the seafood and that there wasn't enough lettuce. I ordered the big burrito with chicken. It was delicious! The chicken was being chopped as we put in our orders at the counter and it looked good. It was good! I'm not a fan of hot spice and the really nice guy behind the counter said the chicken did have a kick to it. It did, and, it was great! Complimented by rice, black beans, salsa infused sour cream and cheese (I think), it was great. I'm not a tortilla fan in a major way so I ate some of the wrapper then used a knife and fork to dig into the yummy inside! Next time I'm going to see if they will just put the goodies on a plate for me! The workers were all friendly. Other diners' meals looked good. There is a microbrewery so I'm looking forward to coming back with DH so he can try some of the beers they make. Never been in this area before, but brought our kids for a birthday dinner. The food was absolutely great and in a lot of ways really unique. The waitress was fast and efficient. The only issues we had was that they charged for things like the ranch dressing. There seemed to be a lot of emphasis on saving money as apposed to taking care of the customer. I came here for dinner one night since my friend was craving Mexican food and we were in town visiting. The name initially confused me when he told me and I wasn't sure what to expect. Initially walking in, it's like between a fast food and sit down restaurant. You order and then grab a seat with your food but there is a bar that you can order from as well, which is what we decided to do. Even though the lines were a little long there were still quite a few open seats. My friend really wanted some tequila but they didn't have any oddly enough so we both got some ciders and taco plates. The food was great as well as the service.
