In terms of just food this would be a 3 star review but the service was so bad I am going to put it at 2 stars. Compared to the melting pot I would say the quality is about the same but I do prefer the melting pot dippings for the dessert (pound cake ). I don't remember the portion size of the melting pot so if you do remember you can just compare with the photos as that is the course meal for two. With the attached photos that is the 4-course meal for two which comes out to about $170 after tip and one drink (missing a soup that I chose). The main course portion gives you six pieces of each meat (coast to coast option) and there were 4 different types of meat and the scallops on that option were sliced into 6 pieces so you essentially only get like 2 scallops. For the cheese portion they said they could bring more bread if needed and for the chocolate they did not say anything so I am not sure if you can get more or not for the chocolate portion. Their four dipping sauces were pretty good though. They had a garlic dip, a sweet teriyaki, a butter chicken and a tar tar sauce. That being said you are essentially paying for the service and experience. It started out pretty decently and everything came out after we were done with the previous course. However, after the main course for some reason our server never showed up again. We waited 50 minutes before we were able to flag another server from another table down to get our last course. They explained everyone was training that day so it might be slow but I don't see how training is required to check up on your table a few times within a 50 minute period. We were sitting for a total of 3 hours by the time we got our chocolate. Currently, I think the melting pot and this place are the only fondue places so there are not many options if you want a full course fondue. I would not recommend it if they have not fixed their staff issue but if they have it would be comparable to the melting pot. read more

Food and service was fantastic. Akshay our server was top notch. No waiting for anything and everything was very fresh. Best mushroom soup I've ever had and the pork fondue was my favorite. The his and hers chocolate with the exotic fruit plate was so delish and the espresso martini was so yummy and neat to watch served. We will certainly be back. read more

We went to this restaurant the other evening with another couple. Overall the experience was somewhat underwhelming. The service was very slow. They had one server one bartender and apparently one cook working. As this is a fondue restaurant and the server also sets up and preps the fondue pots, the poor girl working there was run off her feet. Orders took a long time to reach the table and there was a substantial wait between courses. The food was okay, although for what it was I considered it on the pricey side. The broth for the meat was bland, the cheese sauce was tasty though. At the end of the meal, part of our order never arrived but we were charged for it anyway and the bills needed to be reconfigured. I can't blame the server very much as she plain and simply had too many tables to deal with. If the owner wants this place to succeed, he needs to have more staff working. read more

Went here the other night with a couple of friends. We had been wanting to do a fondue and wanted to support local. The restaurant is bigger than we thought from the outside and has some nice aesthetic features -- fun light fixtures, comfortable seating and a nice ambience. We did the Couple's four course meal. We had the Welsh Rarebit cheese, the Bleu Feast, the wild mushroom soup and the Happy Ever After dessert course. We thoroughly enjoyed it all. At points, we wondered if there was enough food...but after all the courses, it was more than enough. We left absolutely stuffed! The wild mushroom soup was delicious and full of flavour. We used the house broth for fonduing and the couple we were with had the pan sear option, and shared one side of the pan with us. That was a nice option and we enjoyed the variety. Very romantic setting, would definitely recommend for her birthday or anniversary. Our server was in training so she was definitely a little shy but being in the industry ourselves it was OK. When you do the couples combo you both have to get the same Second course which kind of sucks I feel like you should be able to choose. The manager was also very attentive and came over and asked us how her night was going probably three times which was very nice. We did the land and see the chicken was not very good, neither was the pork but the scallops and the beef were really well done with the proper spice use. My husband and I had date bought here. We arrived at 7 pm and left at 9:45pm so don't expect a quick meal. We had four courses and were pleased with our meal in the end. We purchased a Groupon and they were quite clear about what and was not included and we thought it was a good deal. My favourite was the cheese course - we had the Welsh rarebit. Very underwhelmed and disappointed. While the server was very good, the experience was pretty disappointing. When we first arrived, we were told that since they closed in three hours, we would be unable to order the four course dinner. Then they had to check to see if they would be able to find a server to take us. That should have been our cue to leave and take our business elsewhere. We were seated and had a lovely server. The cheese fondue was quite good; however the main course (we had lobster, shrimp, beef and cheese perogies) was terrible. The broth was bland, and the four sauces that came with it were ridiculous. We had Tzatziki, spicy asian, garlic hosain and spicy mayo. Aside from the beef, nothing went well with the dish. No drawn butter for the lobster, no seafood sauce and the perogies were frozen. The desert was very good. When we realized we would not be able to finish our desert, we asked for a takeout box to bring the remaining desert items (marshmallows, pound cake, brownies and some fruit) home to have later. Well, they didnt have any take out boxes. I was quite annoyed at that as I had to pay for the food regardless and there was quite a bit left over. The bill was over $200, and certainly not worth it. Its been quite a while since I have been this disappointed with a restauraunt. I love to support local businesses, but this won't be one of them. Will certainly not be back. read more

If you like Fondue - you will absolutely LOVE Bleu Flame! The atmosphere is perfect ... the drinks were amazing .. the food was flavourful and the service was spectacular! If you've heard of Banff's Grizzly House- and enjoyed the food there- again you will love this place even more!! So expensive and was not good quality! The cheese fondue was really bad, didn't even taste creamy! It was almost like fake cheese,,,I can't describe it, the texture was odd. Mushroom soup was decent, the main fondue was OK but the sauces (all 4 of them) tasted like they came out of a bottle! One was TARTAR sauce we didn't even have any fish. The fruit for the chocolate was not fresh, and neither was the cake.... And it came with stale potato chips. Overall a disappointment, not good quality at all! Went out to celebrate our anniversary tonight. Thought we would try out the new fondue restaurant in Sherwood Park. Big disappointment. Service was great, efficient, friendly and helpful. The food experience was not so great. We each had the Bleu Flame Feast 4 course. The cheese fondue was lack lustre. We had the Welsh Rarebit. You could have grated cheddar cheese added some liquid, heated and stirred on your stovetop to have experienced this course. The House Salad was great. Yummy arugula topped with thinly sliced watermelon, cucumber, feta cheese and pecans drizzled with balsamic vinaigrette. The best course of the evening. When our main arrived it was far short of what you'd expect from a main course. There were six pieces of each protein to be shared. The chicken was fatty, stringy thigh meat, not breast meat that you'd expect. The beef was fatty and tough and the shrimp were tiny. It also came with 4 quarters of mushrooms, 4 pieces of broccoli, 2 pieces of cauliflower and a small bowl of baby potatoes quarters. Not impressive. They knew it was our anniversary so before the chocolate fondue arrived they brought out a plate with one scoop of ice cream with a chocolate chunk on top with two pieces of strawberries and two small pieces of brownie on the plate, same thing that comes with the chocolate fondue minus the ice cream. No big deal, would have preferred a complimentary glass of wine or a discount on the bottle we purchased. When we were finished we had several pieces of our chocolate fondue dippers left, we asked if they could be packed up to take home, and were told that they couldn't as they had nothing to put them in. Kind of crappy. Will not be returning. It was a unhappy anniversary dinner, great company, terrible food experience. read more

went to celebrate friends birthday did our research of specials happy hour and meals on line. website said happy hour 4-6 wereis $7 martinis so great we had 4. also saturdays Mules $8 great again had 2. waitresss asked if we wanted reg or green apple vodka with our mule..sure we'll try the apple . so got charged $10 for each martini and got up charged $1.50 each for the apple vodka she NEVER said there was additional charges. called and they offered me a gift card for the difference of martinis but not for the extra for mules. plus why go back to a place that charges you more than you are expecting to pay it's already pricey for the meal so totally feel like we got ripped off !!!! food good not great and it was so dark couldn't see the food we were eating. or the errors on the bill and felt we were being rushed to pay waitress was pleasant . Very disappointing end of a special celebration sadly after the pricing errors won't be going back feel we got ripped off and a $12 gift card doesn't fix it I would prefer a refund read more
