We came here for a quick lunch around our anniversary and I was not super impressed. We did get the booth that I requested, but the seats were old leather that had been repaired with duct tape. Not a good look. However our server was very nice and friendly. The food was alright, not amazing, I had fish and sweet potato fries, and my husband had a curry bowl. I didn't like the drink I ordered and I actually sent it back. But my husband discovered his new favourite non-alcoholic beer, which we now buy frequently. Also a very good selection of cold beers on tap with some good craft beers. Service is great! I came here today for lunch with a girlfriend and the server seated us quickly in their beautiful covered patio. My friend wanted to move away from the fire which they were also able to accommodate- which we appreciated. The service was great but the music was a little loud. It is a good choice for big parties who need a little of something for everyone - salad, burgers, wraps. Nothing exotic. Nothing spicy. But also no options offered if you want to add a little kick. There's a decent amount of free parking - just be careful in parking lot, there's some blind corners. read more

Decided to take my parents here today (Jul 25,2020) since they've never been...my parents will probably never go anywhere I suggest again lol. Took about 5 minutes before the waitress even said hi to us. When she finally did come I asked for ours waters ASAP and we each ordered a beer on tap, going on 15 minutes later......no water or beers. She finally came to tell us that the keg was being changed out..... again, I asked for our waters and to my surprise....no water. Didn't ask if we wanted to order food either. She came back a third time after spending a good 5 minutes chatting up a table of guys. We then asked if we could have brunch menus since we still had 30 minutes until brunch was over. AGAIN.... I HAD TO ASK FOR WATER. Finally a waitress (not ours) brought our drinks to the wrong table and then brought them to ours. This has to be the WORST service I've ever had in a long time. Also, I found all the waitresses liked to gather at the bar talking instead of being out on the floor assisting clients. Also note the brunch menu which is also on their regular menu is only 0.25 cheaper. It's laughable. The food was meh. I'm confused as to why a table of 4 seated after us and had the same server had their food and drinks already. We had asked the girl who brought our food for ketchup, she politely said sure and proceeding to go stand by the bar and never came back, we had to wait for our server to stop by and ask her for ketchup. I have to agree with another review, confused about the crowd. We were seated by a loud obnoxious booth of 4 with a baby while they dropped F-bombs and got wasted. Charming. Middle of the road food at high prices. Fries weren't crispy on any of the three dishes. The grilled cheese was literally 2 hamburger buns with what looked like a Kraft single in between. This was in 2022, and supply chains are still recovering, but if you can't get the actual ingredients, call the number on the order and let me know instead of giving me this Unhappy Meal surprise. I am updating the review because of the customer service. I left my purse there two weeks ago, but all my things that I use - license, ID, credit card, etc, I keep with my phone which I took with me. However, my house keys and Alberta Health Care card was in my purse. I rarely leave my house without my spouse so the other day when I was going out I realized I didn't have my purse. I felt sick. I phoned the places that I thought I left it at, but I forgot about LOCAL. LOCAL contacted me via Facebook just using my Alberta Health Care card. (all my other ID was in my cell phone holder). I was a bit hesitant after reading a few of the reviews but we decided to try it anyway and I must say it was a crazy night there due to 2023 grad class occupying most of the restaurant and they hit it out of the park anyway. The food was wonderful and the service was great. This is now the second time my husband and I have stopped in with our 4 month old baby for a bite after swimming and both times were spectacular enough to write home about, but I'll write it on Yelp instead. Where to start... The atmosphere of LOCAL reminds me of being on a trip somewhere cozy, like on a winter mountain ski trip after a long day of skiing and you're warming up by the fire and sipping a crisp porter while taking in the friendly surroundings. The first time we went was on a weekday evening after the dinner rush. We got to pick a seat on their patio which is completely closed off by glass, which gave us a spectacular view of an unexpected lightning show. The patio also features a cozy fire to keep warm by. The menu boasts a wide variety of dishes, offering a bit of something for everyone. Although there was a lot to choose from, I sheepishly ordered the same dish both times which was the fried chicken ramen. I swear if you are a ramen lover like me and you tried this dish, you would reorder it too, because daaaamn. The fried chicken ramen is loaded with delicious miso broth, charred corn, slurpable (is that even a word?) noodles and is served with a side of perfectly battered fried chicken. I'm almost drooling remembering it. My husband had the fried chicken sandwich with a side of yam fries and when I asked him if it was delicious, he mumbled "mhmm" through a mouthful of food, but I'm pretty sure that meant it was husband approved. For the thirsty folks, the drink menu features a wide selection of beers on tap with a few rotating seasonal beer options, a great selection of wines, coolers, basic cocktails and a few signature cocktails. The first time we went I wanted something non-alcoholic and was pleased to see that they actually have a few non-alcoholic cocktail options. I found the pricing on the non-alcoholic drinks to be a bit expensive, but that's honestly my only complaint. I tried one anyway called "Spritzing Image", which I could have easily had ten of it it wasn't for the price tag. It tasted like a summer day, with notes of watermelon, cucumber and peach on a ginger staff. My husband being a bourbon guy, tried the Old Fashioned which he also enjoyed. The second time, I got another Spritzing Image, and my husband got the Sherwood Sour, which after I tasted it I wished I had also gotten. If you like whisky sours, you should definitely give that one a try. The service overall was great. Our server was friendly, prompt and the second one told me I had a cute baby, so she gets extra points. I apologetically did not get either of their names, but both servers were wonderful. I also need to rave about how quickly the food arrived. While I'm Still not a huge fan of all the games (shuffleboard is great but I'm tired of nearly getting a ping pong ball in my plate) the service is always friendly. And the chicken sandwich is SO AMAZING. it's super loud though so unless you want to scream above the loud music and noise - go somewhere else for a first date. read more

New to Sherwood Park so slowly checking out the restaurants in the area. Tried Local on Friday for a late lunch. Atmosphere is ok. A little loud due to the open concept. The service was fine. The food left a lot to be desired. We both ordered the burger (Diablo for my wife and Deluxe for me) and it was dry and burnt with like warm fries. For $22.00 I expected a lot better. Would have returned it but had to head to work. Definitely can get a better burger at A&W for a lot less. May give it another shot down the road but won't be rushing back. read more

Went for breakfast this morning. It was fabulous. We were the first to arrive and sat by an open gas fire pit on the enclosed patio area. It was bright and inviting, cozy by the fire. We ordered a spicy horseradish virgin Caesar and a non-alcoholic beer with a side of guava juice. Breakfast was the power bowl and braised beef & bacon hash. Really good savory flavour combination. I recommend breakfast/brunch here for sure. See pics, hopefully they do the food justice. Also .. we went for dinner one night and had the fried chicken ramen and ahi tuna poke bowl. Table of 20 year olds next to us were seated well after us and then were served mixed drinks (which they ordered at their table - we asked) and we still never saw anyone. A sunny gem in Sherwood Park! This awesome indoor Patio is perfect all year round. The walls slide, the roof retracts for those beautiful summer days. So many seating options: high tables, low tables, picnic tables. South west facing for maximum sunlight at your stare towards Edmonton. They even have a ping pong table on the Patio! The restaurant offers enough parking outside. The venue is a very large, airy, sporty theme, and friendly area. With warmer weather , their patio was out and it is a nice addition to it. Service was very good. The server offered the specials, gave suggestions about the food. I have the fish tacos. . My plate was amazing.. I met up with a girlfriend here the other day and from the name I really didn't realize I would be walking into a log cabin type of pub. It wasn't quite my vibe and the food was ok. The buns were fresh but it makes the burger so much soggier than a usual hamburger bun as I could barely hold it all together. By far the worst service ive ever encountered. I sat at a table for at least 10 mins before I just went up to the bar and ordered drinks. I sat down and within 2 mins a group of other people sat beside my friend and I and the waitress came over right away. Then completely ignored us. So we decided maybe we should sit inside. First, this establishment is not for kids. Not sure why anyone would bring children to a pub...anyways. What this place is; a great new spot in Sherwood Park for adults to chillax at. They did a great job in renovating this building. The decor is great, layout is well designed and the new patio is something I can't wait to visit this summer. Sarah gave me a few taster glasses, unfortunately the ones I tried were way too hoppy for my liking. But where the beer lacked, the food made up for it. She was so sweet and earned the place an extra star all on her own. Other than that, the food was mediocre (we shared some poutine thing, the poke, some wings and edamame), and different than what they have at the Local in South Common. (other than Kristin) the service was slow, and took forever. The edamame was the highlight for me, honestly, and I enjoyed my radler once I had it, but it was an overall underwhelming experience. We were sat right beside the ping pong table, and were fortunate enough to be pelted by flying projectiles as the bros in the place played. The drunker they got, the more we got hit. Fan-tastic. Our waitress with the long blondish hair and the large breast implants in the bar section shorted us in her favour. The bill was X dollars and 8 cents. She rounded it up to the next dollar. I have been coming to Local since they opened and have never left disappointed. The bartenders and servers have always been fast to refill your drinks, take your order and answer any questions you might have. When your food does come, you won't be able to stop eating, they have nothing bad on the menu. You can tell they take pride in everything they serve. If you have time I would recommend coming for the brunch on the weekends and pairing it with the El Ceasar or a mimosa, it will brighten anyone's day. Need I mention the best patio in Sherwood Park, unlike everywhere else you don't have to look out over a parking lot. Local will keep me coming back time and time again. 10/10 read more
