I hired Tyrone H., operating under the business name Pluss Renovations, to renovate my basement. Based on his website and claimed 35 years of experience in the industry, I believed he was a seasoned professional. I agreed to a $15,000 renovation project, with a timeline of 7-10 days. The scope of work included: full demolition of the basement (including ceiling), installation of sheetrock and insulation, framing of a TV and wall-mounted fireplace, replacement of the basement window, expansion of a powder room, and enclosing the heating system and hot water tank. Tyrone requested a $7,500 deposit to begin work, and started on 4/28/25. Unfortunately, that was the beginning of a highly unprofessional and frustrating experience. After day one, Tyrone became sporadic and unreliable--showing up only 2-3 times per week. After more than 30 days, the basement was still far from complete and the quality of the work done was unacceptable. From the outset, Tyrone demonstrated a pattern of cutting corners and poor workmanship. He failed to fully demo the space as promised. He constructed walls without insulation, had to take them down and redo them--evidence of a clear lack of planning and expertise. He removed the ceiling and installed a new one that was visibly wavy and uneven, blaming the beams instead of taking responsibility for substandard work. He repeatedly requested to bring in "licensed" help at my expense, only for us to discover the individuals he brought were unlicensed. He also mismeasured the powder room, resulting in me ordering over double the amount of special-order tile needed--70 sq ft for a 34 sq ft room. When I asked him to install the excess tile on the walls, he refused, claiming it was not part of the contract, despite it being his measuring error that caused the over-purchase. When we pointed out serious flaws in his work, Tyrone became defensive and argumentative rather than professional or accountable. It became impossible to work with him, and we decided to terminate the contract after 30 days of inconsistent attendance, poor communication, and unacceptable workmanship. We informed him via text and email that his services were no longer required and requested a refund for the unfinished and improperly completed work. He initially acknowledged our message and said he would review the figures--but after multiple follow-ups, he completely ceased communication. I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau (BBB), which he also ignored. In doing further research, I found that Tyrone also operates under a separate business name, Bleuprint Contractors, where 8 out of 10 online reviews described experiences nearly identical to mine--highlighting poor workmanship, unprofessional behavior, and unfinished jobs. Had I been aware of his prior reputation and the negative reviews tied to his other business, I would never have hired him. In my opinion, Tyrone H. misrepresents his experience, provides substandard work, and lacks integrity. He is not the professional he claims to be. His behavior throughout this process has been deceptive and unethical, and I feel defrauded both financially and emotionally. I am now forced to pursue legal action in small claims court to recover damages. This experience has been one of the most frustrating and costly I have endured. We called Tyrone because we needed repairs done on our roof and in our sunroom. Another contractor had come and given an estimate, but stopped returning our calls. Tyrone had very good reviews on Google, so we tried him. We explained the situation and he told us he would take a look at it a few days later to give an estimate. The day he was supposed to come, he called to reschedule because one of his guys called out. Not a problem, it happens, so we reschedule for the next day. The next day, no one shows up. My husband reaches out to Tyrone, who says that someone texted and rang our doorbell but got no response so they left. Neither of us got a text. My husband works from home, the doorbell did not go off. When we asked if he planned to send someone over, he stopped responding to our texts and phone calls. Don't waste your time. read more

I already wrote a review ,this is continuation of that! Today is 14th May 2019 We were trying to resolve thru BBB ,But Tyrone would not return money $5500 or he doesn't want to do the job either! He wants to keep $5500 for working 5 hours to do some demolition and leaving all the crap on wood floors and scratching the wood floors everywhere ,that's the kind of professionalism he has! Demolition is not complete either and stove,oven are not there either! This below message is from BBB"We ask that you give him 48 hours to respond. Was there a completion date on the contract? If you do not hear back from him in 48 hours send me a email and I will contact him." Then I told him that he didn't respond then their message to us " Good Morning. We will try one more time to try to get this issue resolved. If the business does not comply you will need to contact the State Office Of Consumer Affairs, which is a legal agency" But they couldn't resolve either! AWFUL EXPERIENCE!!! BEWARE!!!! Initially we had good communication with Tyrone UNTIL he got our deposit (over $2k). We had a list of 10 items to finish and not 1 was complete in over a months time. He was never working when he said he'd be, FULL OF EXCUSES NON-STOP! Tyrone refuses to not only return calls, text messages or emails (in nearly 2 weeks), but he is not even returning our money even if he's unable to finish the job! We have a signed contract and he has completely ghosted us. So upsetting how someone can earn your trust only to get money from you then do nothing as they said. Tyrone lied about work that was complete only to check and see that it was not done. This man is a LIAR. Tyrone does not deserve business from anyone and should be utterly ASHAMED OF HIS ACTIONS. He has let our RENTAL sit with no care to honor his contract and he KNEW that we needed the work finished ASAP so that we could list it to rent. If you like just giving your money away for no reason, then hire Tyrone!!!!!! I heard he has a nice truck, I'm guessing from stealing so many peoples initial deposits and then leaving them high and dry! The photo is how he left our unit. Unfinished flooring, cabinets not hung correctly so the vent is still laying on counter because measurements were not correct to fit it in before handing other cabinets. Lower cabinets and island should not have been placed in kitchen until entire floor was finished. Not the smartest for sure. read more

Tyrone is a constant professional, only person to pick up his phone the first time I called and didn't tell me he was too busy to see me this week. He made time to come see my house the next day and we worked out a schedule that suited everyone. He came through when we needed someone the most and he made a stressful situation very smooth and quick. My balcony perfectly straight, no leaks, no problems. i hired tyron to do renovations on my home. i choosed him because he sold me all the things i wanted to hear. he said he could get the work done in the time i needed as well as sleep there and work all night and morning. he told me not to stress this is what he do and i will be very satisfied. well, he lied. he took 20,000 dollars from me and never did the work. never bought the materials that i gave him the money for, and i have been calling his phone and not to my suprise the number has been changed. he took the money and did not do the job. do not hire this bum, this liar, this thief. he is a fraud, and sells you lies. read more
