This is my first time ever taking the time to write a negative review. There are multiple 1 star reviews essentially saying the same thing. The owner is very kind and friendly at first but once you give him the money and need say something like an inspection done, then he never picks up your calls or answers your texts. You have to go to your local town hall and have them contact him. We had a chimney liner installed late October of 2021. they charged us $4300 plus we had to pay $100 out of pocket for the permit that he was supposed to get before he started the job. They charged us $1,300+ more than the market value of the job and we thought we would get better service for paying more. We also talked him down from $5800 which he wanted initially. Another local company had quoted us $2,800 for the same job. They were in and out in half a day. They promised they would remove the debris but never did and left us with over 14 bags each weighing 50lbs+. There were sharp object from the old liner and I even cut my hand removing it myself. The liner they installed coming from the boiler to the chimney in our basement is bigger than the one we had before and it is poking out and I now have to duck under it to not burn my face. He also promised he was going to install an insulated liner around the pipe to prevent anyone from getting burned. Surprise, surprise....he never did. In conclusion, there are plenty other companies that do this work and I think it would be difficult to find a worse company. Do yourself a favor and get your work done elsewhere.

He was very pleasant and seemed very forthcoming and he came to our property several times. We were still dealing with Covid and finding someone to show up was a struggle, so we were happy to see him stick through this process. He was one of two contractors that made the cut. He wasn't the cheapest, but he seemed honest. We broke ground on Nov. 2022, and from that point forward it was a disaster. Within a week the issues began. He cut right through our sewer line, so excrement was leaking into our backyard. - Vinny did not inform me, and someone on his crew shoved a rock into the sewer pipe. I called him, he told me it wasn't a big deal. It was fixed 3 days later. Pretty gross, and to not rock the boat I praised him for his speed. 3 days of toilet water spewing into our yard is 3 days too long in my opinion. The hits continued from there. He removed the insulation from the soffit which was underneath the upstairs bathrooms on the coldest week in December. Our pipes froze. By the grace of god they did not burst. It took 2 days to thaw though. Fun! Next up, the architect called for a vapor barrier underneath the concrete. Not to get too technical. A vapor barrier prevents water from moving upwards through the concrete and to the surface. The surface which might have a finished floor like wood. The day of the pour he put holes throughout the vapor barrier. I called my architect to confirm it that was called for and he said no, and in fact he should redo the vapor barrier. By that time, the cement truck was on site. That was HACK move number 4-5. By now I started to see a pattern and I should have pulled the plug, but I didn't. Then came the clown show of the pour. He didn't opt to have the concrete company provide him with a power extension hose to spread the concrete. He build his own funnel system that didn't work great and him and several other laborers he brought in for the day wasted time trying to get it in place. Since his contraption was so poorly devised the concrete was not distributed well, so we had deviations for 1/2 to 2 inches. I believe from the bathroom to the living room which was on 8 feet, it at 1-1/2 alone. I know what you are thinking at this point why not get rid of him. I need the job done, so I had to continue. We could not stop and start the process over again. I just needed to make sure I stayed on top of every step. The framing took several weeks because little did I know when I hired him. It was just him and his pal Jimmy that would be building the addition. He said he had a crew, but it turns out not to be the case. Literally it's him and Jimmy 90% of the time, and they only work from about 8:30AM-2PM, many days it was to 1:30PM. My ring camera does not lie. I let the clown show continue, and I even extended the additional to also include replacement of the old windows and siding. I think I'm a glutton for punishment. He did it everything wrong. Number one, when installing house wrap, it should be done all at once as a continuous barrier. The seams should be taped and if using staples, the stamp holes should be taped as well. He applied a strip of house wrap around the window opening, and before I caught him. That's all he had. He didn't use a waterproofing rubber membrane around the window opening. When I asked him why not, he began asking me if he wanted him to build for leaks. I couldn't wrap my head around what he was saying. I called Andersen and they confirmed their warrant does not cover improper installation. He ended up using flashing after that, but the order in which it was installed was again wrong. The fact that the homeowner had to call him out on that is astonishing. IMAGE WHAT HE DOES WHEN PEOPLE AREN'T PAYING ATTENTION OR IF THEY DON'T KNOW ANY BETTER. Every sub that came in mention how terrible the concrete pour was. I don't know if they said it to his face but even Jimmy, his right-hand said it was awful. In the end I had to pay him to additional money to level the floors. He actually tried to install flooring on top of the concrete. It was so unsafe. It was like walking on sponge. Just absolute trash like much of his other work. This is getting long enough, so I'll wrap it up. He didn't maintain a typical pay schedule and at the end of the day we paid him for all the work we signed a contract for, but he did not complete and purchase all the necessary material to complete the job, so we had to pay additional money to other people to complete the job. He's a bad contractor and I wish I saw other reviews citing this. The combination of all the issues makes me convinced that any prior review were written by family and friends. His work was subpar. Pete and his crew did an excellent job on the exterior renovation (new roof, siding, windows, and…read moregutters) of our home. The crews showed up on site, when he stated they would and worked straight until they completed the entire job, including Saturdays. Their attention to detail, was incredible, they even went as far as matching the color of the gable vents to the new siding vs the standard white vent on every other home. All holes and corners were filled or caulked with color matched caulk. Every fixture had a white mounting block installed. They used high quality material and the installation was spot-on. At the end of the job, Pete did a full walk-thru with us and identified a couple minor 'punchlist' items. His crew came back the next day to address the issues. Pete even sent his guys back a few months after their contract was complete to add a dryer vent on our addition that I forgot to ask for while they were here. Their estimate, contract, and payment terms were clear and fair. We are very satisfied with the work completed by PJ Sullivan Exteriors and the timeframe in which it was completed. We are going to be back on schedule with everything in about 2 weeks. However, my best install crew goes on vacation 7/27 until 8/12. So now its ANOTHER 6 weeks so from March 18 we are now mid August 5 months later with only 1 day of work done. Finally I had enough and got the difference in my deposit back and had then change a lock which they installed improperly STAY away from this guy/company. He says 1 thing and does another. We first met with them and scheduled our job and then had to postpone it for a couple of years after giving them a deposit. Bob returned our deposit even though he didn't have to. When we were once again ready, we didn't hesitate to give them our business. We are extremely happy with the quality of the work and the speed of it. Our bathroom was gutted on May 29 and completed on July 2, 2019. The only thing still to come is the custom shower enclosure. Chris coordinated all the moving parts and was here every day to work and to oversee anything that he didn't do himself (which was not much). He even went the extra mile and tested (and cleaned out!) our drains after installing the sink. This issue had nothing to do with the work he did; it was an existing problem. NJ Remodelers was recommended to us by a friend, and we would gladly recommend them for a kitchen or a bath remodel. We needed help with some of the unusual aspects of the design and Bob fit the bill by giving us lots of options from his years of experience. They are honest, trustworthy, and very communicative at every step of the project. Chris made sure we were satisfied with everything--a trait that I have not seen before with the many contractors I have hired over the years. Every day, Chris was a pleasure to work with due to his cheerful attitude and the fact that he really enjoys his job. He went over everything he had done and was going to do each day. He put up with all my nit-picking without complaint and delivered a beautiful bathroom in a challenging, small space. NJR is generous about passing their contractor's discount along to their customers for tile, fixtures, and anything else that they can buy at a lower price, so the cost is very reasonable and fair. They recommend suppliers who they have relationships with and know are reliable. Chris knows how to keep the project running as smoothly as possible. You won't be sorry if you choose this family business!

They said their boots were clean, and I felt bad as the dad's back was obviously an issue as he used a cane and asked in advance over phone how many stairs there were. Went over a few small quick projects, they said they could do it right away and would get back to me quickly with a quote. I waited, and waited, and five days later I finally reached out to them. Nearly 10 hours later they send me a copy/paste email response that they got a job they bid on and won't be free again until September. It was early November when they came to my house. I can only imagine what kind of service they provide if there were issues with their work on the backend if this is their front end. Highly disappointed in their business etiquette, but perhaps it's a blessing in disguise. Please note that I originally posted a one star rating as I was furious and disappointed in how we were left out in the cold to now have to rush during the holidays (Thanksgiving is in two days) to find a reputable company. Alcraft, however, really was a world of difference.. We really didn't understand the benefits that having a kitchen designer, with decades of experience. When we met with Bruce at Alcraft, we had already spoken to several cabinet sales people/designers. From the first meeting we could tell that Alcraft was not like other providers. Bruce thought of logistical details right away that neither other designers nor ourselves considered and turned out to be very important. As one example, we planned to have a pot-filler not far from an upper cabinet, and Alcraft immediately explained that most pot fillers would end up hitting the cabinet, given the mechanics of how they fold. Bruce gave us some workable options and even drove with us to look at pot-fillers that fit without having to change the layout or redo the plumbing. Also, given that we had already contracted with an installer prior to meeting Alcraft, we assumed that Alcraft would simply design the kitchen and sell us the cabinets. But Bruce and Jill visited our site to insure continuity. They came to our apartment for the delivery of the kitchen as well as during and after the installation process. Alcraft cares about the service delivery quality. Kountry Kraft quality and craftsmanship is readily apparent. Alcraft's experience and overall thoughtfulness on the project was all the difference for us. They helped us think through how we would navigate and utilize the kitchen in order to design the most utilitarian (and beautiful) kitchen space. They were truly committed to the project: promptly responded to all exchanges whether it be by phone or email. I associate their work and expertise with a time when people cared about getting everything -- a kind of perfectionism that surpasses client expectations. Alcraft truly approaches a kitchen as built-to-last and have that in mind throughout the entire process. We tell everyone we know about them. They were a delight to work with.
