Most checkouts you can enter your loyalty number and start scanning. I feel tech-savvy but the self-checkout was just confusing. It's not clear which ones are open. You can't see the checkout situation until you're next in line to checkout. At one point the lone cashier started scolding the CUSTOMERS for not using self-checkout and told US the line was so long it didn't make sense and WE had to do something about it. Excuse me? I don't work here, find someone who DOES to do something about this long line. How about order online and have it delivered? Or better yet... just order from anywhere online.

But you shouldn't have to wait for a sale just to feel like you're not paying an arm and a leg for a craft project. On the plus side, the staff is friendly and helpful. They have the kind of customer service I appreciate -- where someone actually walks you to what you're looking for instead of just pointing in a general direction and disappearing. That said, the front desk and self-checkout area are another story. I stood at the self-checkout for a solid five minutes waiting for anyone to come by and help with a screen issue so I could remove an item. No one ever came, so I eventually gave up and checked out at another register. Overall, it's a nice store with good selection and solid staff, but I'll be honest -- next time I come, I'll be coming for the sales, not the sticker prices. I don't stitch, but sure was inspired walking in this beautiful store. Friendly folks working there, so helpful & eager to talk through new threads, customize canvases & teach!! There are tables available to anyone who wants to come in & stitch with others. Bring all you need, get support from fellow stitchers, etc. so friendly & to see what others are doing is cool. They don't mind you watching (be respectful) & asking questions. The WALLS of canvas, shelves of supplies & the finished inspirational pieces all over the store are jaw dropping. Yep, I have pics. This is not a cheap hobby! I saw a smaller canvas for $80. On the day we went they had 25% ALL! No idea how often they have sales or if a reward system, but with the cost of supplies & finishing you are looking a chunk of change. I walked up to the shortest line and the cashier (Asian lady) informed me (Black lady) she could not check me out because she was pulling from the back of the line. No problem, I proceeded to wait in line. Other customers new to the check out line were also walking up to her register for check out not knowing the unique process. Immediately after me, she decided to ring up a (White lady) who did not have to wait in line AT ALL! Granted she only had one item, so did I. Hobby Lobby already has a BAD rapport with racism but this was the final straw. I did not feel valued as a customer or respected as a person. As someone who crafts and decorates for a living, I vow to never shop Hobby Lobby again. I will refer my clients, friends and family to shop elsewhere as well.

I ended up parking in the lot across the street and walking over. I think I stood in line for less than 20 minutes, it wasn't too bad and the weather was great so it was a breeze. The staff was welcoming in guests in small groups, so I figured it was tight in there but whoo! It was an intimate space, definitely boutique-style. We weren't packed in like sardines but luckily, patience and politeness kept the flow going. Items were beautifully laid out and presented on various tables. Earrings, brooches, bracelets, rings, etc. There were different metals, gemstones and more available, all lovely pieces of vintage items for sale. Prices varied, with most items being over $18. I liked the variety! I wish there was even more, but liked that it wasn't packed with too many items, you could see that each was handpicked and sourced with love. I ended up leaving with a dainty gold/silver watch, two David Yurman-esque rings, and a beautiful gold bracelet. At a total of $89, I think I made out quite well. I definitely plan to go back for another pop-up and see how I make out.

To me, it seems to be an issue with the management at the store level and regional basis. From what I have seen, I wouldn't trust them to frame a piece of rubbish from my wastebasket, much less a valued piece of art.

They have moved since I was last at school and for the better! It is now located at Emory Village. They have formed a partnership with Barnes and Nobles so the first floor was like a mini B&N store, the third floor had all the clothing wear and accessories. The place was just magnificent. This was a great shopping pleasure and next time I'm in town I have to explore the campus a bit more.
