I needed a quick dinner as I cruising through Okeechobee. Dining options are limited here so a casual chain seemed like the best bet. It was completely empty when I entered and everything seemed clean. One worker had a mask on and one did not. I assumed the one with a mask would be making my sandwich but when I finally focused in on what was going on, it was the girl without a mask cutting my meat although she did have gloves on. I was too tired and hungry to call her out but I should have. I am sure she was supposed to be wearing a mask. Out of curiosity I checked out the Covid rates in Okeechobee. Ten days ago Okeechobee had a positive rate of 15.9 percent out of 6,627 compared to Palm Beach who has a positive rate of 13.2 out of 282,129. I found a news article that said that people in Okeechobee County were not getting tested frequently. Another site listed them as as having 1.202 cases compared to where I live in Broward that has over 69,000 cases. However if they are not getting tested in Okeechobee who knows? I wish I had thought of all of this before I allowed someone without a mask to make my sandwich. This will be the last time. Based on other reviews here this is not an isolated case. I will be better off packing my food next time. To try and end on a positive note, Jersey Mile's is located across from the brand new Hamrick Butterfly Garden which is a lovely place to eat.

We were quickly seated and a friendly server came and took our drink order. The menu is extensive and everything looked great. I settled on chocolate chip Belgium waffles and a side of bacon. Within 5 minutes our food arrived and it was hot. My chocolate chips were melting perfectly and my bacon was thin and crispy. I'm not really a breakfast person, but this was excellent.
