Jersey Mike's Subs has grown considerably since Peter Cancro first took a part-time job at Mike's Submarines, a sub shop located in his hometown of Point Pleasant, New Jersey at fourteen years of age. Cancro would end up buying this sub shop at seventeen-years-old and from these humble beginnings, Cancro would build this brand into a sandwich empire with probably about two thousand locations. Let me also mention that I am originally from New Jersey and while Jersey Mike's Subs is by no means the best sub in New Jersey, it is one of the best national sub chains out there (I would say in my opinion that Jersey Mike's Subsis the best national sub shop chain, far better than Subway and Firehouse). For this visit to this particular location, I went with their Big Kahuna cheesesteak. Something else that I appreciate about Jersey Mike's Subs is that they are pretty consistent across their various locations. I am sure that this can be attributed to a strong training programs for their franchisees. As far as my go-to choices, for a hot sub, I will usually go with their Big Kahuna cheesesteak and for their cold sub, I usually go with their Italian sub. I would definitely recommend this particular Jersey Mike's Subs location or any of their many locations (somewhere around two thousand of them). Absolutely horrendous experience at this location. No other locations have I ever had an issues. Just this location and has happened multiple times. The sub was subpar at best, but the truly unacceptable part was the customer service. The employees, a bunch of disrespectful young punks, had zero regard for customers. They were rude, impatient, and seemed completely disinterested in their jobs. It's clear they have no respect for people or the business they work for. Avoid this place at all costs. What a bunch of friendly folks who work here. Must be something in the water because this crew seemingly loves their job a little much. I left full and happy though, so absolutely no complaints. I tried the Chicken cheesesteak with peppers, onions and shrooms. It was so damn hot, I actually burnt the roof of my mouth. That didn't slow me down though. A few weeks ago we ordered curbside pickup & when we got home, one of the subs was the wrong sub. I called right away because it was a sub my son would not eat (he is picky) they said they'd be happy to remake it and we could come back but he was headed out to work and we didn't have that time. They let me know they would put my name down in a book and we could come in at a different time to get it replaced at no charge. I asked specifically, did we need to did this by a certain time frame and I was assured when we were ready our name would be notated. Well, I called Tuesday night to order 5 subs & let the girl know the 1 sub was a replacement for the one they didn't make correctly and that I had already paid for the last time. She asked my name and when this took place, I let her know. She immediately told me it had to have been picked up within a week of the mistake & they don't keep names longer than a week. I let her know that was not what was explained to me. She put down the phone & asked another girl. The other girl picked up the phone (with an attitude) and told me the same thing, policy is one week, there was no book, names are stored in the computer and wiped out after a week. I told her that is not what I was told. She said well I can call my manger and I asked her to do so. She comes back on the phone and says nope my manger said no, & stick to the policy. I told her it's crazy to loose $50.00 in subs on todays order because they won't honor on a mistake they made and I had already paid for & I would be reaching out to higher ups. She said ok. Just like, who cares. So I went to a different PSL location and spoke to the person in charge there. I asked if they were all affiliated and spoke with them about this "week" policy. They let me know they are affiliated with the same policy's regarding replacement of subs that were paid for and made incorrectly & it was not needed to be used within a week or you loose it. Shame on Jersey Mikes Port St. Lucie at Key Lime Plaza! Terrible customer service, made up policy's and giving a terrible reputation under Jersey Mikes brand and name. You needed training in customer service & Jersey Mike's policy's. Common sense is not, you paid for something in full, a mistake is made on the company's part, (not the consumer) & if the consumer doesn't come back within a week their $ or product is gone. read more

Let me begin this post with "I love Jersey Mike's, it's my favorite" Today I had a disturbing experience at the Port St. Lucie store...so upsetting that I could not eat and was overcome with anxiety. My husband and I stopped for lunch at this location which is near to our Florida home. We live in Massachusetts April though December and then in Port St. Lucie the rest of the time. I was wearing a Boston Red Sox hat and placed my order, my husband was deliberating over the menu. I moved up to the sandwich maker's station and one of the young ladies at the cashier made a comment about my hat and asked me if I liked the Red Sox. I answered that I was from Boston so they were my team. What followed was a verbal attack about the New England Patriots followed by her statement that she was a Philadelphia fan and more negative commentary on Tom Brady etc etc.....I commented once that I wished her team luck.....she continued....I asked her to stop. I told her I did not want to talk or argue about football, I just wanted my sandwich. I said "you are representing a business here" but the ongoing harassment continued.....I had a panic attack.....started shaking......couldn't compose myself.....When the others finally noticed my distress, one young lady offered to "take care" of my order. I told her, no thank you...I handed her a twenty dollar bill and retreated to a table. I was unable to overcome my panic....later went to the ladies room and one of the girls whined..."we're sorry" The perpetrator didn't say anything...she obviously didn't care. A few minutes later, I returned to the register and gave them a ten dollar bill because I noticed they only charged for my husband's food. I told them that we prefer to pay for what we order. After I returned to the table, one of the girls came to our table with a seemingly sincere apology...(she was not the one who was obnoxious)...offering a gift certificate for our trouble. At this point I was beyond calming down....still shaking and I'm sorry to say I gave her the message I wanted to give the other girl. Manners and respect mean something to us.....when you work for a business you are representing them and not yourself.....a bit of lighthearted joking is ok if the customer initiates it. I never said a word about the Patriots and football....I didn't start the Boston conversation which quickly turned ugly. I asked her to stop, she didn't....The girl who did the apologizing wasn't the girl who caused the situation in the first place. I'm sorry to say that I will be reluctant to order from your store or stop there again....... read more

First visit today and I was impressed. The club sandwich I had was well made and tasty, and the servers were very pleasant, and even gave me a couple free cookies for my first visit. Quality is a rarity and hard to hold onto. Never is this so apparent as at this location of Jersey Mike's. I visited today and got 1/2 the amount of food for 1/3 more the price. And it was dried out. No more do they greet you coming or going...and in fact, don't even listen well to what you order. They got the order wrong after several repeats. And for a 12" sub with scant meat, a smaller salad and 2 drinks it was almost $30!! There was also nearly $2 up charge for 2 pieces of bacon on the salad!! Subway is a much better buy!! And, sadly, more meat and toppings. Avoid this Jersey Mikes unless you can afford huge cost for little return!! I'm so sad about this. It used to be my favorite! read more
