In the past this Company was our go to for Venetian Blind repair. Apparently, the son is now in charge. He arrived at our home without a measuring tape, scoped out the house instead of paying attention to the task and was pretty rough while messing with the blinds. We thought maybe this was a one off, so my sister traveled to the shop where she encountered more odd behavior from his associate. Sadly we no longer trust this company and are still trying to figure out why he came to the house since he showed absolutely no interest in doing the job we requested...maybe lunch? Total rip off. Do not use them. Carlos came to my house and it was a $100 service charge to visit. That's fine, they told me in advance about it and I agreed. When he got here he pressed a couple of buttons on the remote to program one blind and told me that's another $45 for the one second of pressing buttons as part of the service. But he never gave me an option. It's bait and switch gimmick pricing. Do not trust their verbal quote because they mislead paying customers. I don't care about $45. It's the principal that matters. He should have told me in advance that I could program one blind myself or he could do it for $45 and given me the option. read more

Very nice and helpful. I went in with a problem with my parents blinds asking how I could fix it. I showed them a picture of the blinds and the problem, and they went back and found blinds similar to mine and showed me how to take it apart, fix the problem, and then put it back together. They would normally charge someone to fix the blinds, but I was hoping to do it myself to save my elderly parents money, and they were kind enough to show me, and I was able to fixed it on my own. Anthony and team at Blind Soeed were amazing in repairing an old Hunter Douglas Luminette shade rail that was broken and could not be repaired by my installer. They were the only company in the county that would be able to perform the repair which saved me having to replace the entire system. Even though the parts were not covered by the warranty, the end cost was reasonable given the time and effort put in to perform the repair. Overall - was extremely happy with the service. read more

I took in 10 large (5-6' wide) venetian blinds that were nearly 30 years old, and which had accumulated so much dust and so forth that most of the tilt wands wouldn't work, and most of the drawstrings(?) wouldn't lift or lower the blinds. And a couple wands were broken. IOW, in awful condition. BSSB washed them thoroughly, did a few repairs, and replaced the broken ones, for what I'd call a very reasonable price: well under 10% of what replacement would have cost (from checking with other shops). Each employee I spoke with was friendly and helpful. I don't know whether it's family-owned, but it has that feel. Y hablan Español. A 35 yr old pleated shade cord lock had disintegrated. Tried several North County repair folks but no one could help. I called Blind Speed, left a message, they called back that day, sent pictures to them, and they called back that they could repair and had the replacement parts! We are delighted to share that the people from Blind Speed/Sparkle Blinds, Inc. were punctual, polite, did what they said they would do, and at a reasonable price. We would definitely recommend them! The owner came to our home, checked the functioning of each of the blinds - we have lots - and determined that they were all in working order. He recommended cleaning; no need to buy new ones. We made an appointment soon after for a tech to take the blinds down, wrapped in their cords, identify them by number and take them for cleaning. The valances were carefully stacked at our home. The blinds were returned and re-installed promptly as scheduled. We were happy to see that the slats and cords were VERY clean! The valances were cleaned here and reattached. Some pulls were replaced as needed (if the paint was scratched) and the blinds were adjusted to our satisfaction. After waiting on Saturday for a technician to show we found out the owner gave them the wrong cell to call. They arranged a time for the technician to come Tuesday between 12-2 then cancelled at 1045 am. They wouldn't reschedule- avoid at all costs- unprofessional and not reliable. Would leave zero stars if I could. Dropped off a single blind for a repair and when I got home I realized that the blind had not even been touched. Went back and requested that they fix the item as they promised to do and was told it would now take two weeks. I was understanding as their location had suffered some damage. I called on the two week mark and Mike assured me they should be done in the middle of the next week. I call in middle of the following week and nothing had been done again and was told to wait another week. In all my blinds were there for over a month and they never fixed them. In addition to this, Mike is completely rude to customers on the phone and does not care about keeping your business at all. Do yourself a favor and go to a reputable shop that knows how to treat their customers. read more

I went to Blind speed to get a continuous drape pull cord for lowering and raising my drapes. The cords only last a couple of years usually. They quoted me $25.00 for a 3 foot pull cord. I felt the price was far more than reasonable and declined to buy it. I found an identical 3 ft pull cord on Amazon for $6.99. I like to support local businesses but to say this was price gouging is an understatement. I will never use them again. read more

I've been there twice now for an under-warranty repair of two different shades (Hunter Douglas brand -- it was standard mechanical failure after many years of good functioning). Both times, Blind Speed repaired the shade quickly while we waited and were efficient and courteous. What a joke. Let me get started. The first appointment they canceled five minutes before they were supposed to be there. The second appointment they canceled the night before. When they finally did show up to my house almost 3 weeks after the originally scheduled appointment he was there for all of 7 minutes and then up-charged me an additional $45 for programming that I didn't ask for. Service & quality is dependent on what you need & who is working. Some people are thorough but the price changes from the top of the head of the person you speak with. I can get small items for my blinds which are inexpensive & I can take it home to install it myself. Other items like blinds I've been given three different prices. I would say make them put it in writing. In my case I was told a figure by the top person, he told I'd get a call, which was a month later & when I went in to pick the items up they helped 3 other customers who came in after me then my items weren't ready so I had to wait some more & I was charged twice the amounts I was initially given... read more

Brought in 5 blinds for cleaning and re-stringing. 17 year old blinds. Took a bit to get back, but totally worth the wait! 17 year old blinds! They look and work like new now! I had doubts the work could even be done but thought it would be worth trying, primarily because replacing 5 large, custom blinds was going to be $$$$. From my first contact with them by phone thru pickup of my 4 refurbished and 1 warranty-replaced blind (which they handled 100%) they were patient, honest and clear in all their communications with me. No hemming/hawing, false promises or ridiculous estimates. They said they would attempt my repairs only if I was clear that the blinds were old and may not hold up to the work needed. They provided an estimate for the cost if the cleaning/repairs were successful, based on calculations by foot (for cleaning) and quantity of clips/materials needed (for re-stringing). They worked their magic and managed to get the work done above and beyond my expectations. Will happily bring them back the blinds in 17 years for the next cleaning and maintenance. Or use them for new blinds. read more
