It's not easy finding someone to replace brand-name, dual-pane custom windows in San Diego. Fortunately there is a professional team at Glenview Glass & Screen (in El Cajon, CA) that can get it done right. One of the small windows in our living room was broken, I believe by a bird. (They occasionally fly into our bigger windows, sometimes at their own peril. I was surprised to see this one broken with no bird body below it.) Anyway, I called around and after reaching a few other vendors, Denise at Glenview Glass said they could replace the window. If you know about how dual-pane cartridges/modules need to be fabricated at the factory for a proper seal, you can guess you're not going to get next-day service. When in doubt, put up some plywood. Fortunately in our case, only the outer pane was broken. Randy came out to measure, then later returned to install the replacement module which included the requisite tempered glass, due to the low height of the window. He did a great job, and gave me the pro-tip to NEVER buy gray duct tape as I saw how much adhesive residue was left on the window frame from my "bar" across the damaged window, providing anyone with a visual notice of the situation. (Black duct tape works better.) Anyway, as a former SoCal investment property owner/manager, I started the habit of making a note of contractors I can count on in the future. I took the door down and dropped it off. The screen was replaced and I was able to pick it up about a week later. Paid on pick-up. Very happy with the outcome. We chose to put a nice looking pet-grate on the bottom portion of the door for an additional fee and it has been totally worth it. It was a pleasure working with Glenview Glass and Screen. They did an excellent job installing four large windows in the front of our home. The most important aspect of their service, in my opinion, is the attention to detail and the pursuit of perfection in their work. I just have to brag about the excellent customer service by Miss Dee Dee at Glenview Glass. I have a 3-panel glass door that I bought from Dixieline, and after 5 years, it needs some servicing to correct some misalignment. I was given many runarounds by Dixieline. In the end, Dixieline would not and could not service my door, citing the reason that they did not install it the first time. They offered many times to call me back for recommendation on an alternate solution, but they never did, and for 2 weeks, I had to call them multiple times to follow-up. I was finally given the contact at Glenview Glass. Dee Dee answered my call and she is absolutely amazing in the way she diligently follows-up and goes the extra mile to ensure that my problem got resolved. I wouldn't recommend this business. Have been in contact with Denise since July 8 only for her or Heather to cancel an appt we had this week (Aug 29) that was made several weeks prior and was lied to about a voicemail having been left of a new appt and an email being sent. Was just told today (Aug 31) there is no appt on the books and to try a new glass business entirely because they might not find the part, which we were aware of and was the reason for the appt, to collect a sample and see if they could locate the part, but what a waste of the last two months of correspondence. At this point we want nothing to do with this business and are calling Best Value Glass, per their recommendation they have a better range of service. In addition, each time I tried to contact them I was told by Heather that Denise was in an interview or at dentist appt etc and that I'd get a call back and it just wouldn't happen. I put Milguard double pane windows in my house during a reconstruction 22 years ago. Needless to say, some of the seals went bad and the warranty was for 20 years. I needed new windows and but I didn't want to have to break my stucco removing the frames. A friend suggested that I talk with Glenview glass and screen. They suggested that I replace the glass instead. Kevin and John came out looked at my windows and said that not all the glass needed to be replaced. I ended up replacing 12 panes. They measured and ordered my glass. All the glass had to be specially cut. They came out a few weeks later. Glenview kept me up to date during the whole process. Madison called me and told me that the crew would be short handed and that it would take all day to complete the job. On the day of the work, Kevin, John, and Mike showed up promptly at 9 am. I was to move everything in front of the windows for their access. I couldn't move a cabinet in my garage. Way to heavy for me. Kevin and John said that they would move it. These guys were professional, personable and worked non stop. Each had a job and worked efficiently. They finished early afternoon. When they left, I went around the house to look at my new windows. One window that a problem with the spring still didn't work. I quickly called Glenview to see if they could stop the guys before they got too far away. John came back and apologized about the window. He took a look at it and realized that a plastic piece that held the spring in place had broke. Not their fault. That's why the window wouldn't work in the first place years earlier. He said that they would have to order a whole new window. He left back to their shop in El Cajon. An hour later, Kevin and John came back to my house in Serra Mesa. Kevin had a solution and fixed that window without replacing it. They could of came back another day but they drove over a half hour to fix that one part. These guys are the best! I ordered my screen door last summer and just now and getting to the review. The door is GREAT my little bunnies do not chew it all all and it's very sturdy. I would recommend paying for the installation because after a few months they came back out because my screen door was missing a wheel on the bottom so it wouldn't roll right. They were great about making it right and didn't charge me the full "delivery" fee when they came to repair it. The door was a great purchase! This is the most unprofessional company I've attempted to work with. In the beginning, I was told to email the dimensions of my Milgard windows that need replacing to Denise, and after several attempts and two months of waiting, I never got a response. I then spoke with Heather, who said she would get a message to Denise. I was finally given an estimate and agreed to the amount. They asked for 1/2 down to start the job. I got a voicemail message that they were ready to come out and verify the measurements, and I have now called them back four times to set that up. Each time, I've been told that Denise will call me back, but she hasn't. Several more months have gone by and, even though I have paid half the amount, they still have not called back. When I called the last time, I was told it was because Denise had 23 people ahead of me and, due to COVID, they are backed up. If I don't get a response from Denise in the next few days, I will need to take them to court to get my money back so I can start all over again with another company. Meanwhile, I have four windows that have gone bad and in dire need of replacement. This company should not be taking money from customers if they're so busy that they can't even follow through. read more

I was referred to Glenview Glass and Screen by MilGard Window to replace a the screen door to an older sliding glass window. Although MilGard has a lifetime warranty for their products, it does apply to screen doors beyond "x years" old (which is reasonable). I contacted Tina at Glenview for a future appointment because of my travel arrangements and set up a visit which allowed me to bring in the original bent door in as the template. Tanya wrote up the work order and answered all of my questions: Both Tina and Tanya were terrific. The door was completed as promised ... and looks great. I had a minor installation question, which Craig answered quickly over the phone and the deed was done! They also offer Veterans discounts! The two men were extremely professional, well mannered and did an outstanding job problem solving the "issues" we continued to run into with this "newly purchased" house.
