She immediately recognized us and said "I remember you from last year" I had spent a long time there previous appointment trying to decide what I wanted. The sales person, Anne, came to my house and was helpful with choosing fabric. I knew I wanted 3 Roman shades and one curtain for a slider door and knew that custom would be the only way to have all the fabric be the same. The room is open style, living room and kitchen area so the continuity was important. The swatches are small so I drove to the Peabody store to view the large sample and then knew I made the right choice. They were ready just before Christmas and I choose an install date early January. No issues with getting an install date I paid for the professional install. They installed the Romans shades and slider curtain in about 30 minutes and left. The curtain was wrinkled but I used my steamer and it looked a bit better but the liner (blackout) was extremely wrinkled and those would not budge. I honestly don't know why there was a blackout liner since this door faces the north and my back yard, but it was on the quote which they pointed out I signed. I knew the roman shades had a thin cotton liner, thought the same for the curtains but no, a very heavy kind of plastic/rubber like material was on the back of these curtains. I wrote to Anne, the consultant and she asked if the installers steamed them...I said no. She promptly sent out someone who tried but couldn't remove them either. They tied them to train them, left those for a few weeks , removed and still they will not fold together when closed. I pulled the one that will not fold nice to the dry cleaners to see if they could steam them, but Anne said to get it back and they would try again to steam them. Again the same gentleman steamed, said these wrinkles will not budge and the curtain just folds to the side all floppy and not nicely folded...like you want from custom. Mitch, the Customer Experience Manager tried to help but said there is nothing more they can do. He did offer me a coupon if I wanted to buy more, no thank you. I will say they communicate well, the fabric and the Roman shades are nice...but the slider door curtain I wish I just bought from Target. If you want something like blackout, make sure you see and feel this product before you sign the quote, it really doesn't need to be there for a typical slider door. read more

The sales-at-home woman took my down payment after measuring my windows, and ordered my blinds. She then scheduled a measurement person to come to my home. After measuring, he let me know that the company does not make blinds for my window, as it would be a custom size, and Blinds to Go does not do this for an arch window of my measurements. When I asked for a refund of my deposit, the saleswoman said I would still have to pay for the measurement person's work, $50. I told her that I didn't cancel my order, the company did, I want that $50 back, and she said this is the company's policy. This makes no sense. Update: After calling and complaining to the company's main office and explaining the situation, I am being refunded for the whole order. read more

She told us an honest time frame to expect the product to be delivered which arrived about 1 week earlier. They sent someone to our house to measure and the install went great. AWFUL!! I am extremely frustrated and disappointed with the deceptive selling practices I have experienced. I was quoted a price for "custom" blinds and never told there was a minimum or maximum width for these "custom" blinds. Once the technician submitted the measurements I was told that some of my windows were too small for the "custom" blinds that I had selected but any of the blinds in the price points above mine blinds could be cut to the custom size I needed. This place is a scam. They quote you a cheaper blind price and then bait and switch you. It also took over a week and an angry email for someone to call me and process my refund of my deposit. Save your time and energy by avoiding this place. read more

Pros: The blinds are nice Cons: Communication, quality of service, value, damage to new window trim Dealing with Blinds to Go is more trouble than it's worth. Their communication not only with me, but with each other, was very poor. The measurer came by and gave us advice which the (first) installer later told us we couldn't do. Three of the blinds did not fit. After spending a week trying to get a hold of our rep Jamil, we were told all three blinds were ready. The second installer showed up with two blinds, one of which did not fit. The second installer came again (now three visits) and installed the final blinds. Five of the blinds have fallen down and I put them back up myself. Our brand new window trim (see picture) now has drill holes from a failed attempt to install a blind. They did not tell us about this, we discovered it. Repeatedly I was told when Jamil would be in, or when he would call back. Not once did that happen as promised. Also, he never called after the third install attempt to make sure everything was done, or to discuss the $100 refund he offered for our trouble. Also, they require payment in full before they will install anything. So you have no leverage in the event of damage, extended wait times, or poor service. I feel I received no greater value with Blinds to Go than buying blinds from Home Depot and having a handy man install them. At minimum we would have saved money. Not good overall. Our rep, Gloria, will not respond after the installation. We have unfinished work and a faulty blind. When you try and call/email customer services at Blinds to Go no one will help and they push me back to Gloria who is unresponsive and clearly only concerned about new sales and not existing customers. I have submitted to emails through their website and persisitantly called and emailed Gloria but their silence is deafening. I would NOT recommend this company. Made us wait over 2 months for our blinds. Measured them for us. Told us they were coming in made us wait anthour two weeks. When blinds were installed one was improperly installed. Two other blinds we ordered on was the wrong size size. The told us 3 to 5 days for it to come in three weeks later. Blind came in yesterday and they told us 3 more weeks to install it. When I walked in a obviously took the woman sitting at the front desk away from her personal phone call. When I told her what I was looking for and gave her the measurements she disregard what I said then decided to push her installation team on me without showing me any of the products I asked for. When she saw I was disappointed with not listening to me she decided to get up and ask if I knew how tall the window was and I told him I could reach it without a ladder. She then proceeded to ask me again how tall the window was I repeated the previous sentence to her. She then made a face and said"see this is why my installers need to come out pushing them on me again, with an expression on her face that would piss anyone off. Our consultant came to our home and gave us some quotes on different shades. Didn't follow up until I reached out to her. Took order via phone which was fine. Delivery estimate was accurate. When installer came out to install, the size of one of the shades was off so had to to send back. I contacted the consultant via phone/email (no response). I called the store to confirm they were sent back and were. Installer came back to install and a piece was missing from the box. Said he would return the following week, but never heard from him. The staff is very nice and when we received our light shading shades we were thrilled. However, they have recessed and there is a space on the bottom of 6 inches now so we must put bunched towels on the sill so the sun won't come thru in the morning. Now we have tried and tried to get the shades off the bracket according to their directions and can't get them off to have them fix it. You are suppose to push back and then down but the push back works but not the down. I could take some vice grips to the shade and that might work but I also might ruin a $350 shade. Guess how much they want to charge to take the life time guaranteed shade - $55. They will fix it and then have us try to install it again or charge us another $55. I swear they installed it too tightly and that is the problem. Don't buy their sales pitch that they are easy to install and maintain. That is a crock!!!!!! Also expect your shade to retract over time and leave a large space at the bottom. read more

Mixed experience in working with Blinds To Go Peabody. First, they are super-busy and understaffed; you will very likely wait when you go to the store. Second, they are very hard if not impossible to reach by phone as they don't have voicemail! You will always hear: "our consultants are busy helping other customers; please call back". They didn't order the correct parts for my installation, delaying the install for two weeks. The (independent) installer was excellent and did a great job once the correct parts came in. In the end, I got the shades I wanted and they were a fraction of the price of Hunter-Douglas. I need more window treatments but am just not sure if I want to go through all the hassle with B2G again. read more

The only thing I didn't like was that the installer left all the boxes, plastic, trash with me and said they don't take it with them. Those are really big boxes and lots of them. I bought blinds from this store about 6 years ago. Their installer came and installed them but didn't do it right. Although there is more blind to come down to meet the sill, he left it so each window in the bedrooms would leave about 8 inches open to the outside when they were lowered. In addition to the bedrooms these included a three window wide kitchen window and another to go on a wide patio door. I called to have them fixed for the sake of privacy - the store says they provide service. They don't. No matter how many calls you make they never return a call. All calls, by the way, go into a National call center ( this is new since the earlier frustrating efforts I made ) and they promise some one from the local store will call to set up service. I'm still waiting after four months second time around. I even went into the store to try and set up an appointment and was told they were too busy to help me. I left. I know what has to be done, but can't do it myself because of health. After they take your money there is no service! Customers should be aware of this. They only get one star because they sold me the product. read more

You order your blinds, wait 2 days, then drive back to the store to pick them up (the "to go" part, I guess). Why name your store something so misleading? I need blinds today. I don't feel like driving back to your store in 2 days. Compare this to The Container Store across the street who custom cut your closet rails and shelves while you wait & even bring them to your car!! The customer service was pretty bad this morning, or nonexistent would be a better word. I drove an hour with my fiancé to get to one of the few B2G locations in Massachusetts, intending to buy blinds for 10 windows in our home. We signed in to the iPad at the front of the store that they force you to disclose your email and phone # on prior to being helped. There were two other customers in the store when we arrived and two employees working -- and in the 25 minutes we spent wandering the small store, we were completely ignored. Is a "good morning, we'll be with you in a few minutes" too much to ask for? I have a feeling they overheard my fiancé remark that the blinds were way too expensive, and assumed we probably wouldn't be buying much... but he wasn't the one purchasing them, I was (and I was well aware what they cost). They have very affordable blinds and more expensive blinds. I go with the blinds on sale and they are beautiful. They are also very easy to put up in your windows when you take them home.
