We were very pleased with our BlindsToGo experience. First of all, when making an appointment, the online person who helped set us up was VERY fast. She got someone to come out to see us that very next weekend. Andrea was the sales associate who helped us. She was helpful, knowledgeable and thorough. The samples she brought to our house were helpful. After she did rough measurements and gave us a quote, her measurement person came by. We then placed our order, put down a deposit and then installation was about 1 month later. Blinds to Go was amazing in setting up our new home with custom shades. My husband are I are downsizing and purchased a new home in South Boston. We have used the Peabody location for our family home on the North Shore. The shades from Blinds to go lasted all 18 years there. Gloria H. was amazing. She came to our new home twice, found parking, lugging sample books, and made it look like a breeze. As it has been a long time (18 yrs) since we have needed to purchase shades we learned from Gloria that the shades I wanted were now cordless only. Yikes, not ideal as the new home has large windows and 9ft ceilings. Gloria understood my concern as we were setting up all of the windows in the condo. Arrived to store with window measurements in order to purchase two shades 66"Wx36"L. The store designer gave us a price with the Width and Length reversed. Once the windows were measured, the price increased significantly, as the dimensions of the shade increased. The store designer's error in inputing the information into the computer incorrectly resulted in a significant increase in the cost of the shades. No one notified us, the consumer, that due to the incorrect measurements by the designer we were now responsible for the new pricing. We had the written invoice with the price we agreed on and that is what we expected to pay within our budget. On Thursday, I finally reached customer service where they took the information about the designer's input error and significant increase in the cost of the shades. They assured us that they would call us back on Friday. No one called us. On Monday, I called customer service again and had to explain everything all over again. After saying that the company would not do anything, the customer service representative provided a coupon that helped with the cost of the shades. I went on line, paid the compromised amount, booked Shelton, the installer for Monday morning. On Saturday, I received notice that Shelton would arrive in the afternoon. I contacted customer service and told them it had to be the morning appointment as promised or cancel the entire order. When no one arrived by 12:15, I again called customer service, and was told the installer was not coming till the afternoon. I told them to cancel our order immediate, I was contacting my credit card company to dispute the bill and to please tell Shelton not to come to my house on Monday afternoon, as I would not be home. Shelton called me back immediately and asked if he could come early Tuesday morning. I agreed. Let it be known, that if it was not for Shelton I would never ever consider keeping this purchase from Blinds To Go. This is my 3rd time using Blinds to Go. First was for cellular, this time for light filtering curtains. If I could give the customer service part 10 stars I would (thank you, Liam, what a pleasure working with you, as well with you too, Chris). This business is a scam do not come here especially for woven wood shades. I just bought my first home and was looking to do woven wood blackout shades which ended up being $1700 for 2 windows and 2 doors. When the blinds were installed I noticed they had put the rings for the mechanism to pull them up and down through to the front by accident. I called the salesperson Sal who cant do anything without his managers approval so I went in the next day to speak to the manager Sean. He offered no explanation except "he dropped the ball", the blinds are intentionally made like this which apparently he and the sales guy 'didn't know'. I cant imagine why anyone would want to pay extra for blackout lined blinds and then have 16 holes pierced through them, it makes absolutely no sense. I bought the EXACT same blind on display in the store which wasn't built like the one I received so they want to scam you into buying it and then when you wait 70 days and it's wrong then strong-arm you into buying something so as not to lose the sale. Sal was extremely defensive and condescending on the phone. When I got into the store he actually tried to offer to sell me something else as if I would ever want to give them my money when they just wasted almost 3 months of my time. Sal received his commission from my sale and didn't even open up the box to see if the blinds were correct when they were delivered to his store and sitting there for 5 days before installation. All I was offered by Sean was a refund or they could remake the blinds without the loop through the front (but still going through the blackout part so essentially still seeing 16 holes). I went with the refund option obviously and he wanted me to wait another month until an installer could come remove them before he would give me any of my money back. I pushed back until he sent someone out quicker. It's an absolute joke of a company and management team and if you're a young woman they will talk to you like you're an idiot. I'd pay twice as much for blinds anywhere else so that I never have to deal with this level of incompetence again. read more

The quality of the product is not what we expected given what we paid for the shades. Valences frequently fall off and we needed to super glue them back on. Also, our designer was apparently aware that blinds on French doors would hit, but didn't let us know beforehand. She was also apparently aware that we would be able to see the internal working of blinds on a window at the bottom of our staircase, but also didn't let us know that we would need to source a solution on our own. Worst of all, our designer decided on her own that we should have black out shades in our living room even though we told her that we didn't want them. (Full disclosure: this was specified in the final quote that we reviewed but we didn't read closely enough - didn't know that she had made this change.) She told us that we could have them fixed - essentially by buying new shades. We are terribly unhappy with our shades and would not recommend using BTG. read more

Never again. For the price their install experience is terrible. We were convinced to get a professional installer by a representative who told us that it would be so easy. That someone would come at a time that is convenient for us. Well. Every time I try to book a time in the system to have an install (which it says is available), I get a text message from some random number telling me that they aren't available at that time and I need to rebook. i purchased black out shades a couple of weeks ago. The mechnism is flimsy in that is does not hold the two ends of the blinds at an even level. Also the mounting hardware is quite finicky. One end of one of the shades pops out of is mounting hardware periodically and has to be re-inserted each time. read more

Initial appointment was good but when an issue arrived regarding my bedroom shade customer service was non-existent. Waited on the phone for customer service a countless amount of time and when I did get a hold of a live person your messages of problems went on deaf ears. I decided to reach out to my stylist John who was most unhelpful and rude! Decided the next step would be to reach out to a manager (Margarita) she also dragged me around and wouldn't answer emails for days sometimes weeks and was extremely unhelpful getting me any sort of resolution. After over a YEAR of calls and emails Margarita decided to offer me what she called as a full refund as long as my shade was returned. I asked her for a quote of this refund to be sent to me by email which she did and the refund was over $400 LESS than what I paid for this shade! She could not give me and explanation of why the price was different than what I paid and that my file was archived. Archived...I sent countless photos of my receipt and photos of a shade that the company could not even get the color correct on! I now have a bedroom shade that doesn't even come close to the order I initially placed. I even opted for completely different shades but a problem always came up and the company could not place an order for something different. Why offer these items if they can not be made!! Terrible!! We tried to work with this place but are struggling to provide a positive review. When we first got a visit from Gloria, we were not sure if her demeanor was disinterest or just low energy. Turns out it's the former. She struggles returning calls, follow-though and just general pleasantness. We bought 10 blinds of various types and sizes. the install team was great (they're not employees of blinds to go; subcontractors). the quality assurance of the bamboo shades was less than acceptable. They attempted to replace but the replacements were worse than the originals. There were manufacturing defects like grime and dirt on the shades. Be wary of this place. the quality is not good and the price is premium. working to get refunds for the bamboo blinds now. we'll see how that goes. read more

Awful quality. Thoughtless design. High prices. We ordered a bunch of the remote controlled blinds and some roller blinds. A few months later I'm realizing what an awful mistake this was. They sell total junk at a premium price. Unbeknownst to me, the remote controlled blinds don't use regular wall electricity. The installer seemed puzzled that something installed in a wall should use the power running through said wall. Instead there are batteries. So now my window blinds require both maintenance and extra parts that can get lost. The remote is thoughtlessly built. It takes the blinds up and down--two possible settings. It doesn't have two buttons. It has a myriad of surfaces that do absolutely nothing most of the time. Occasionally after walking around the room and pressing different bits of it the blinds change position. Usually half the blinds change position. Never all of them. What's worse is a child can get ahold of it and through swiping randomly break it. We also ordered roller blinds, those things that date to the 1940s that are generally perfected. Ours wouldn't roll up. They just rolled all the way down where a kid pulled on them and they fell off. A person from the store came out to fix them and instead of replacing the creased and folded mess on the ground, he just twisted it a bit more. Now our expensive and almost new blinds look like a disgusting mess. They still don't work. Save your money and go elsewhere. read more

I realized I never went back and updated my review. After a lengthy and frustrating customer service debacle full of uncertainties, a knowledgable contractor did show up and install the blind. The blind that we got it clearly cheap. The contract said to be careful pulling on the handle too hard. And it turned out the measurements were a little bit off. But in a funny turn of events, it all worked out. Instead of getting the blind install at the deep end of the skylight, we got it installed along the ceiling. It looked prettier than I expected. I ordered a light (york, pearl) color roman shade and no one told me that when you add a light filtering liner, it will totally change the color--it went from a nice white to putrid yellow. Blinds To Go is a bit like McDonalds - a grab and go place and runs a pretty lean outfit. Allow me to explain. There are no sales reps. Once you enter their store (we only visited the Everett outlet), you will find "design consultants" who double up as sales representatives but essentially you are supposed to do your own research and come in informed. No one is going to walk up to you and ask you if you have been served. They also have third-party "installers" who don't work for Blinds to Go - independent contractors whose role is to come and take measurements and install blinds in your home. We ordered what we thought for great blinds and were told by our design consultant Michelle that someone would reach out to us within the week to set-up a time and visit our home to take window measurements and thereafter come again to install blinds and were told it typically takes 2.5 weeks. One entire week (7 days) go by - NO call so I call-in to ask and another design consultant helps to set up our appointment with an installer the following Friday (another 7 days). Both my wife and I mark this time in our schedules and plan to set aside time from work to be at home once the installer shows up. I call in on Monday just to be sure that this appointment is confirmed and whether we need to do anything (we are told nope - you are all set and gives us a 2 hour window for the installer's arrival). I call in again on Thursday and speak with Michelle who tells me the same thing. Friday comes along and 1.5 hours into the appointment - we get a call from the installer who tells us there is a miscommunication and Blinds 2 Go never informed him about the appointment time. At this point, my wife and I are both pissed. We have taken off work and what we planned for a lovely Friday to kickstart our blinds project has turned out to be a nightmare. We try to reach Blinds to Go and have to spend 2 hours on the phone to speak to someone. Apparently you dial the store's number and then press "4" to speak to a human (design consultant because the other 3 options are all automated and don't provide any help) and just wait till someone picks up otherwise you just have to keep trying the same number again and again. We put down several hundred dollars as deposit only and also confirmed the appointment time THRICE only to have Blinds to Go mess up. Not only did this disrupt our personal/ work schedules - but we lost trust in Blinds to Go to do anything right henceforth. Forget about the lifelong warranty, we didn't even trust Blinds to Go to come in and install the blinds if the measurements were taken. While Michelle did offer to send someone else during the day, we did not want to deal with another potentially time-wasting episode. We'd rather just get our money back and self-install or go to a place that actually is trust-worthy and provides good customer service. Blinds 2 Go does appear to have some great blinds, so if you want to come and pick-up what you see and self-install - then it should be a decent place for your needs. However do NOT come here expecting any kind of service - you will be sorely disappointed. read more

Looking for motorized blinds that were Alexa friendly brought me to Blinds To Go. Had a very nice in home consultation and then the fun began. They took a 50% deposit at in home consultation and then billed the balance when the tech came out to measure. The tech was scheduled on a certain day but changed the day at the last minute, which was fine. He told us two weeks, well it was over 3. The day of install came and he only had one of the two rooms blinds and NO hub. He installed one double blind and it was crooked. He told me to put a little piece of paper behind it and it would help... I wasn't in the mood and he had to come back again with other blind so I waited. He said he would come at 11:00 and confirmed that morning, he didn't show up till after 2:00, now mind you I texted him and confirmed 11:00, 3 hours late. The blinds are crooked, sloppy work, left the box and the wrappings on the floor, very unhappy and would NOT use this company again!!! read more

I have called 9 times over the past 2 days and every time it says all of the staff are assisting other customers. We just moved into a condominium that has motorized shades from Blinds to Go. Two of the shades need repairs (one goes up and down crookedly, the other one's motor fell of the rail.) I called Blinds to Go today (the 1-800 number) and they said that they will only do work for the people who installed the blinds originally (even though I said I realize the warranty wouldn't apply to me) and that if I wanted to I could take the blinds down and bring them in to one of their stores to be returned to the factory. I am still scratching my head over this terrible customer service. I've never heard of a company only servicing their product if the original owner calls. Ridiculous. Jan 27 I ordered four cellular shades from Blinds to Go in Everett. Order cost $1,025.20. Today is Feb 8; installation is scheduled Feb 9. Professional installer will pick up shades at the store. Blinds to Go emailed notice of a sale Feb 7 - 25% off cell shades. I phoned to ask for the sale price - the woman who answered said no. Dissapointing response to a frequent customer. Plain & simple . They SUCK! I was told 30-60 days for completion & installation. They came almost 120 days later had one blind size wrong. They charged me for the larger blind then told me the price was the same meanwhile i was told the smaller one was cheaper. I added that the last smaller one on over the phone, So i had no physical in hand proof of receipt. They told me the blind would be back to me on my window within a week. When installation called the 1st appt. was 2 weeks out adding on the week that passed was 3 weeks total. I still haven't mentioned 3 of the 10 window treatments were dented at the bottoms and manufacturing imperfection creases. Every time you call you deal with someone new. Terrible experience!!! First, our blinds took weeks. When we called, we were told that the installer picked up the box, but there was nothing it. Our blinds must have been stolen from their warehouse. Second, a week or so later, the installer shows up, installs the blinds (which were supposed to be blackout shades) but they they were 2 inches too narrow! The width was supposed to be 34 1/8" (which was on the order form), but they showed up to be 32 ¾". We paid over a $1,000 for two "custom" blinds that clearly were NOT custom. We've been buying blinds and shades from BTG for more than 10 years, and we're always super happy with them. Most recently we got solar shades for a location where we want to preserve the view. They are a great product and look really cool. We did our own measuring and installation. Buyer beware. I had a terrible experience with Blinds to Go. I ordered and paid in full in November 2020. After several mishaps with ordering, availability and a sales rep that claimed my phone "didn't work," I was told I'd have the blind in "3 weeks." (Which would have been 3rd week of December). When I followed up again, the date moved to March. Fast forward and they finally installed it on March 23, 2021 and it's a piece of crap. Close to $800 and it looks like something from a Dollar Store. The quality is bad, the components are cheap - everything about it is subpar. The installer was extremely rude and rushed through the installation. I can't get a response from the company. Bottom line - stay away. Good money thrown away! read more
