It looks amazing!! You honestly can't tell I ever had a filling, and now I don't think I'll ever need veneers. She completely exceeded my expectations. After which, I had a panic attack the entire office heard. While you believe you may have a policy to "take a break, or stop"; it is not followed. part of the response from the office below: "If there is ever any indication that a patient may be uncomfortable, we immediately offer to pause, take a break, or stop the treatment altogether. Went in for dental cleaning and hygienist scheduled a cleaning within my 6-month insurance window without letting me know at all that the charge will be $180 out of pocket. With so many glowing reviews for this practice, I was very surprised by my experience today. The dentist seemed a bit unsure, which made me slightly uneasy, though that alone wouldn't have deterred me from returning. The cleaning was the biggest issue. It was painful and drawn out, with heavy reliance on a manual tool that felt like nails on a chalkboard. At one point, he hit my gum hard enough to make me gasp, and later reached a very sensitive spot where I had to ask him to stop completely. [[HIGHLIGHT]]He pushed to use numbing gel so he could continue, and although I didn't want to prolong the experience, I eventually agreed. The gel helped him finish, but the overall process left me feeling distressed and not heard.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]What really concerned me, though, was a comment he made at the end about women judging each other for coffee-stained teeth.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] For me, a dental cleaning should be centered on comfort, care, and health. Dr Bliss and her team are top notch. Some of the best dental service I've ever had. Notably I had an old cracked filling that left a tooth in pretty bad shape and I was shocked at how quickly and efficiently she repaired it. Similar work with other dentist in the past would have taken twice as long and had a lot of discomfort. Dr bliss's precise and gentle hands made this go like a breeze. She had an especially deft touch with the anesthetic needle, I felt very little discomfort when she injected and she injected the perfect amount, did not need to add any more later. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I also appreciated that she went in very thorough detail about what she was going to do before she did it. I think that helped with minimizing discomfort and setting expectations and making it a great experience.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I felt no pain at all during the procedure and only a little residual numbness afterwards, no pain after the anesthetic were off. I'm not kidding that this was a really amazing experience. Well, relatively speaking in the world of if you have to go to the dentist! Not only do they walk through with your dental needs, they use really modern and advanced technology to photograph and scan your teeth. Dr. Zin is great, I would give her 5 stars, as well as the super kind receptionist (I think her name is Maribel). However, I had a hygienist who cleaned my teeth in such a painful manner (and not because of sensitivities or cavities, but she was just rough and not careful) that I requested not to have her again, but the other hygienist (I think his name was Charles) was great. I had one appointment with the other dentist Alyssa, and she was not particularly thorough, and when she flossed my teeth she didn't bother to reach my back teeth and made me feel rushed and abruptly ended my appointment. I ended up having to switch dentists due to insurance, and had to call FOUR TIMES in order to get my records and history. Tina was friendly enough on the phone but it was frustrating to have to call that many times just to get them emailed to me. read more

Worst cleaning ever. Only Superficial Cleaning. I am surprised to see 5 star rating and I went for the teeth cleaning today. Dental Hygienist took x-ray and started cleaning my teeth. However, after coming home, my wife who is Dentist as well, she checked my teeth from inside and totally shocked. They cleaned only the visible part of the teeth, and whole inside palatal surface of the teeth were full of stains. Surprisingly, they cleaned the stain which was visible on my front lower teeth because of my Chai (tea) habit and that is cleaned. But if you see the inside surface of the teeth, both lower and upper jaws, nothing was cleaned and not even tried to clean. Those stains are pretty normal compare to my tea stains. When I called them to know, they said that "it will take 2-3 multiple seatings to clean those stains; and you will have to do multiple deep-cleaning for that". What a shittty lie. They also lied telling calculus to a stain. I have also uploaded a picture right after cleaning. Check it out the worst pic of my life. Good dentist can be hard to find, but I'm glad that I found Dr. Bliss and her team. All of the staff was friendly and helpful. It helps that the office is in a convenient location for me. Dr. Bliss was very down to earth and easy to talk to. She was not pushy at all, but made sure that I understood all of my options. Finding a honest dentist can be hard, but I am more than comfortable listening and accepting any of Dr. Bliss' recommendations. Been going here for years, even before Dr. Zin took over. I was worried at first it might be a different level of service, but things only got better (and the bar was already high). This is a great office with friendly staff and competent medical advice/treatment. Also, I love how thorough they are, especially during cleanings. I get 3-4 cleanings/year because I want my teeth to stick around until I'm old, and Charles really gets in there (maybe that's TMI, but you're the one looking at Yelp reviews for a dentist office, so what did you expect?) Dr. Vandi and his team are fabulous!!!! If you ever have any fear of the dentist, then you have to try them. My original dentist, Dr. Hennessey (who I had been seeing for about 2 years) was really wonderful too but he left and the other female dentist I was assigned to just didn't cut it for me. She just kept telling me I needed all 4 wisdom teeth pulled out and referred me to some other place to get them extracted. My "sis" introduced me to Dr. Vandi and I came to see him in early December just to get a second opinion about removing my wisdom teeth. He explained everything to me and made me feel comfortable. After a thorough consultation, he said in reality, I would only need to have my lower two removed because they're impacted. Since then I've decided that I'm going to keep coming here. In fact, I have already been here twice to do my deep clean. The dental hygenist, dental assistant and receptionist are all very sweet. I always feel very welcome and safe in their hands!! read more

I came here because I had purchased a Zoom deal from Living Social. It's a nice office located across the Pruneyard, in between Taco Bravo and Pet Food Express. I went in first to have my teeth examined before I was to schedule the Zoom. They gave me the run down of what I shouldn't do 48 hours after the Zoom process (i.e. no tobacco products, no eating or drink anything that would stain a white tshirt). Since it can take up to 2 hours, they schedule you at either 9 AM or 2 PM. There seemed to be some confusion when trying to schedule it. I had to reschedule and they had told me a 2 PM appointment was no longer available, which I had hoped for to go right after work. So I got a 9 AM, but then tried again later, and was given a 2 PM when one of the receptionists had told me there were no more 2 PM's. I went in last week, and I had forgotten to bring an iPod as they had suggested. It is a pretty mundane and long process, and I accidentally fell asleep during the first 15 minute session of zoom. It tingles at times, and afterwards, your teeth are really sensitive for the whole day. Not fun. Couldn't really tell if my teeth were white, they were slightly, but about the same after a cleaning. With no headphones, I heard the receptionist call a lot of patients asking when she could schedule them in, and making small talk. Definitley a quaint family business, but I really like my current dentist. I only met Dr. Vandi twice, just for a short time at the end. He seems very friendly and professional. It was good to check out, but I don't think Zoom is for me. read more

Great dr. Detail into my cleaning and great With explaining everything while she works on my teeth

Lived in LA for a bit and haven't been to a dentist here in the South Bay since moving here a couple years back. Thankful to have come to Bliss Dentistry! First of all, Maribel at the front desk was incredibly patient, helpful, and welcoming! I had tried to contact 4 different dental offices and Bliss Dentistry (to this day) is the only one to have called back. On top of that, Maribel quickly helped me (over the phone) to figure out what exam/xray/services pricing looked like with my insurance. Came in due to jaw pain and for a check up for any cavities. My jaw wouldn't open wide enough to actually work on my teeth, but through a quick series of tests moving my jaw, Dr. Bliss did a wonderful job identifying that my pain was not teeth related. She provided me a packet full of jaw exercises and advice to take inflammatory meds before I'm able to take a next appointment. Was the ideal experience and I couldn't have asked for a better first appointment! read more

She redid all of my fillings as my previous ones were in pretty bad shape. Now it looking so natural, people don't even know I have cavities. She doesn't pressure you into getting extra procedures like other dentists. She takes more of the prevention route which I appreciate. I was on maternity leave and did not have day care for my first appt, they were so kind to allow me to Bring my baby and offered to watch her if she needed it. Like most people going to the dentist was not something I looked forward to doing. After having some bad experiences growing up was always putting appointments off. Found Dr. Bliss about 3 years back and have been going to her ever since. The quality of care, understanding, and trust is why I will never go to another dentist. She treats you like a person and not just another patient. I also value the time she takes to show you exactly what she sees, benefits of getting treatment done, options you have, and what could happen in each scenario. Never do I feel pressured to do treatment. When work is being done I do not feel pain and she is very gentle. Always aware and asks how I'm doing and if I'd like to take a break. By far the best experience I've had and will continue to see her for years to come. I first reviewed Mehdi's practice four years ago, and gave him and his staff 5 stars then. I wish there was a 6th available, as if anything, they've got better! Not only do they do everything they can to minimize discomfort (I mean, who likes going to the dentist?) the whole staff, Mehdi in particular, manage to mix being super-professional with being clearly kind-hearted caring people. Moreover, I'm clear too that Mehdi's whole philosophy is simple: make sure you keep your teeth into your old age, and keep them in good shape! So trust his judgement. Dr. Joyce Stein was fantastic. By far the best dentist I've ever seen. I had two fillings done. Her numbing/injection technique was so effective and pain free. And the fillings themselves looked so natural and felt strong. The staff was friendly and appeared extremely competent, and the waiting area was really well-appointed. The greatest dentist in all the land! He is great with children, easing them into the process, even if it is over several visits. Patient, explains options, considerate of financial considerations. Technique is flawless -- painless as it gets. Staff is great too, all very helpful and attentive. I don't know what this guy knows that all the other dentists don't, but he is the best! Awesome. Just had a tooth ripped out there and had a great experience. I hadn't been to the dentist in quite some time and was very nervous. Not only Dr. Vandi, but all of the staff were extremely nice and tried their best to make me feel comfortable. I originally went because of the other good reviews I saw, and I'm glad this could be the place that got me to start going back to the dentist. Edit: After a 3 (or 4 can't remember) times back in the past few months, I'm gonna have to knock these guys. My first experience was great like I said, but consecutive visits kept getting less and less enjoyable for a few reasons: * They really, really are in it to make money. That became very apparent at each repeat visit. They were very pushy about how much work I needed done, and even did extra work without discussing the implications. They are NOT conservative in the least bit, which is what I look for in a great dentist. It really made me uncomfortable, as I didn't feel like they were giving me advice in my best interest. * They told me I wouldn't get charged for a procedure, and I ended up getting a bill in the mail for a few hundred dollars a couple weeks later. (see above) * They charge $50 for a cancellation not made 48 hours in advance, and are firm about that. So if you do need to cancel, make sure you keep this in mind. (see above) Everyone there is nice like others have mentioned, but it's just makes for an overall uncomfortable experience for me when I don't feel like my needs aren't being taken into consideration. I am not a fan of the dentist. It takes me several times to try to get to my appointment out of fright. But the last two times with Dr. have been wonderful. He is patient with my eyes watering, even wiping the tears away himself. He always ends up relaxing me even when I have to do fillings and hear that drill buzzing away. The staff is always professional and friendly. They are used to me trying to cancel and remind me the sooner I get in to get work done the less often I have to visit.
