I hope there is an option of negative star to the most awful experience in my life. This is 100 times worse feeling compared to acupuncture Dr poked my lung! Uyesugi totally damaged my face and life!!! Be super careful about choosing your dentist!!! Don't be fooled by the fancy decoration. All the cost comes from your pocket. Dr's proper skill sets not by talking but by showing how delicate of them pay attention to details and how carefully of their operation or at least disclose what they will do to your teeth or mouth. Compliance with the standard normal process matters the most!!! I have come to Dr Uyesugi for over 4 years for my dental appointments. I never got one time gum measurement from them in the past 4 years, which should be an essential process for teeth clean. (My previous dentist did it for me every time and monitored my gum's health. But Dr.Uyesugi's clinic monetized the business without operating the basic and standard process.) The nightmare started from I took Dr Uyesugi's advice to change the crown last Dec after he repeated twice the cavity thing and told me that I'd better to change it. I still doubt about how necessary to do it because I had no issue with my crown, no pain or any discomfort. And I smiled a lot before this. This procedure ruined my life. 2 times job turned out to be done after 6 times. (Visiting times: 12/21/22; 01/16/23; 01/17/23; 01/26/23; 2/20/23; 2/22/23). His assistant Maria did two times crown seat for me, first time it fell off after 7 days; second time it fell off after 6 hours... Such a joke. They just didn't care about my time. He did three scary things beyond all the crazy operations. 1. He injected two times anesthesia on my cheek from my month; 2. He didn't tell me what the process was, what need to be done, nothing disclosed until he removed my crown or until it was too late for me to stop him. 3. He pushed my gum's margin up and triggered all the inflammation and pain. 4. He used sharp steel kind of knife tool scratched on my gum area. 4. He drilled twice on my teeth to make it powerless and told me in the future it may crack... After 6 times visit, he left the deep needle sink scar on my face and I have constant nerve pain on the gum and headache caused by the pain. When he asked me to come to his office for the seventh time, I almost passed out!!! He didn't disclose he would push my gum's margin up. When I realized he was doing it, I told him that my gum's health is my priority. If you think doing something would hurt my gum, pls don't do it. He said, "how about I tell you I am doing what I think right to do" The same day, the pain started. Each time I would spend at least 2 hour's drive on the way and 1 hour in his clinic. It cost me over 20 hours just for this process. Currently, the constantly nerve pain in my gum area and ugly needle Scar shows on my FACE permanently right after he injected anesthesia the second time on my cheek from my mouth. The most horrible experience in my life caused me tremendous mental stress, beyond all my physical pain, frustrations, my precious time and energy. I tried to put the scar gel on my face there but the scar gel causes my entire skin peeled off. However, this injury didn't directly happen on my face but from internally, that is why scar gel doesn't do too much to help. I just feel endless pain and regret to trust Dr Uyesugi in doing this procedure in his clinic. read more

I've been reluctant to share this experience because I hate being negative, but I think it's worth sharing because it's very easy to be drawn in by how nice this office looks aesthetically. I'll try to be brief: Dr. Uyesugi recommended that I have a crown replaced that I've had for many years. None of my previous dentists have pointed to it as problematic, but I felt inclined to trust his clinical judgment. After this crown replacement my bite felt severely off. I had to go back to get it adjusted several times. My bite never felt right for over a year--I had difficulty sleeping during this time. Separately, I had a crown put in to replace a filling that was deteriorating. When I went to get my temporary crown replaced with a permanent one, one of Dr.Uyesugi's assistants replaced my crown without numbing me first (this was not a root canal tooth). I have shattered my clavicle before--that pain was nothing compared to this. Worth mentioning that this assistant was unsupervised. I really left this experience feeling much less trusting of the dental industry as a whole. I wish I had not deferred to Dr.Uyesugi's clinical judgment and used my own common sense more. Definitely retain a degree of skepticism when visiting this office, particularly if you are suggested a barrage of treatments no previous dentist has said you need. read more

From relocation to an unfamiliar place is quite daunting. We have been with our dentist for so so long and we made the switch just for the sake of our commute. Dr. Liong has been gracious to my Bae and I and telling our children to come here too. I do like that I was given a tour on my first appointment. Didn't get a massage. It was offered though and I watched what was already on. Today, February 14th, brought our 11 year old in and I swear I had completed all the online registration but they didn't have it. Quite alright. Then the hygienist came out and greeted us but she called me Amber. I was puzzled. Looking forward to having our son meet Dr. Liong. So far so good. It really is hard to find a dental place to trust and rely on your oral health. Everywhere you go, you'll find something that wasn't to your liking. I'll leave it to our son to comment. Hello everyone! I've recently had the pleasure of breaking my teeth (while eating pasta mind you) and was having tremendous anxiety with both the broken tooth and seeing a dentist. Having heard excellent recommendations from my colleagues, I was referred to Uyesugi Dental where I was met with an extremely kind and professional staff. Dr. Liong and her assistants MJ and Maria really made sure to keep me at ease with their professionalism and kindness since I have a phobia of dental clinics haha. Anyways, this clinic is state of the art! Never have I been to any other dental clinic in which you can watch TV from the ceiling while lying flat being operated on! What's not great about this beautiful and state of the art office. From the moment I arrived I was treated with kindness and everything was seem less from check in to check out. This office really has it all together. I've been a few times now and each time I'm so impressed. I've always hated going to the dentist. But this place has changed my perception of dental care. I have been seeing Kaz for over 20 years now. I do not live in the area, but am willing to come back for my dental work due to his exceptional work. Kaz and his staff are always clear with what work is being done and are open to any questions that I may have. I trust his opinion and I know he always has my best interests at heart. Not only is their dental work excellent, but the dental office itself is by far the best one i've been to. The office is always clean and follows COVID precautions. I am extremely disappointed with how the office handled me as a first time patient. I was in search of a new dentist and Uyesugi Dental was recommended to me by a family friend. After scheduling my first appointment and doing my very first check up, the doctor had a sit down with me and walked me through all that needed to be done. Their course of action was to do a root canal first, which they do not do at their office. They referred me to a second party specialist. I went in for my root canal and after spending close to three hours attempting to do the root canal, my tooth broke and they had to do an extraction. At that point, Uyesugi Dental referred me to a third party specialist for an implant. I would not have considered this, but since I was already missing two teeth on one side, I couldn't afford to not have a tooth on the other side. Otherwise, I'd have to use my front teeth to chew my food. Once I completed three different procedures with this third party specialist, after paying a little over $8,000, Uyesugi Dental sent me a text with a new estimate to complete the final step which is the implant and a filling for an additional $2,300 out of pocket. When I reached out to their office and voiced my disappointment at the lack of transparency to cost, all they could offer me is a third party payment plan that would be interest free for 6 months. Even after I asked to do a payment plan with them. They went on to explain that this also would be a process. I would need to apply and hopefully get approved. While yes, this entire process is costly, my biggest disappointment with them is the lack of transparency. Especially as their first time patient. They do not try to help in any way to try to keep you as a patient. I am now walking with a screw in my mouth and will need to find a dentist who is willing to complete my implant. read more

I have been going to Dr. Uyesugi for over 16 years now with some hiatuses with university. All the dentist who I went to during my university days have stated that his work is very high quality. I have never had any problems with any fillings most of which are over 14 years old. He redid all of my cavities when I first saw him over 16 years ago since my prior work was subpar and bound to create future problems. His prices are higher than many but the work is well worth the price as it lasts and poor work will cost you more in the long run in more than monetary terms. The current location is very modern and nice which is a big change from his small office he had before. It is very clean and bright and inviting. There is always plenty of parking as they have their own little private lot. If you are debating on any dentist, really look no further. I have referred so many friends and family to Dr. Uyesugi, Perhaps almost three dozen over the years. Some more friends want to switch after my suggestion and them reading the overwhelmingly positive reviews but their dental insurance isn't accepted here. I just hope his practice remains just as good once he retires whenever that time comes. read more

I am so tired of bad dentists so I finally moved all my kids to Dr. Uyesugi. I regret staying with one for 10 years and the next one for about 3 cleaning/examinations. My daughter did only twice with this last one and she had the gut feeling that something is not right. My boys stayed for one extra time and I regret not moving them over sooner. My daughter and son are happy with Dr. Uyesugi. Dr. Uyesugi is doing a very good job on the new patient examinations. He lets you decide what u want to do after showing you photos of what is going on inside your mouth. He makes recommendations and can give you referrals if you need to see other specialists. I had never seen any past dentists of mine going through this at all. I had probably over 13 dentists in my lifetime. Some changes were because I move out of the area, others were just very bad dentists. How can my new crowns keep falling out? The bottom line is he does good work and that is coming from relatives and relatives other friends. When it comes to crowns he is an artist and he makes sure your bites are not misaligned not like most dentists don't care about. That is why they charge cheaper. If you want your teeth done right you have to pay the price period....................... People just don't understand. Quality is important when it comes to crowns, bridgework, etc... Oh, his hygienists do a good job too. Our last two dentists do cleaning in 10 mins. which is so ridiculously fast. What exam???? Our insurance pretty much pays former dentists a lot of money for cleaning. because these dentists never did an exam 13 mins is cleaning and exam....' read more

This is the best dentist experience I have ever had. I cannot recommend this practice enough. They have really modernized the experience of going to the dentist by making it an experience. You end up looking forward to going. The check-in process is seamless and digital, the dental chairs gave massage, if you're cold they have a blanket, each room has a tv, and they even apply chapstick throughout your fillings to avoid chapped lips. When I arrived for my dental cleaning today I was sooo disappointed when I found out that Saghi, my regular hygienist of many, many years, no longer operated out of this office. But my disappointment was very short lived due to the proficiency of Teri, my new hygienist! I can truthfully say that over 6 decades of tooth cleaning she has the lightest touch when measuring gum depth. You can barely feel the probe as she moves around your teeth! Also the ultrasonic scaling and cleaning was done efficiently and with good communication to explain each step. First, let me say that my experience with a cleaning here was great. My 2-star review is because of the insensitive treatment I got during a consultation with Dr. Uyesugi that left a bad taste in my mouth *pun not intended*. I wanted to discuss some cosmetic issues, and while I understand that my smile needs help, a professional should never leave a patient crying. I appreciate honesty but there is a level of tact that needs to be upheld, and referring to my teeth as "chiclets" is certainly crossing a line. Of all people, a dental professional should understand how self-conscious people can be of their smiles and embarrassing me doesn't make me want to shell out the $18k you are telling me I need to spend to fix it. He made me more self-conscious than ever about my mouth and I left the office feeling horrible. Good bedside manner goes a long way and unfortunately Dr. Uyesugi is lacking it. read more

Just in time for thanksgiving, I had a dental experience worthy of thanks! The solid 5 stars Dr. Kaz's office boasts on Yelp are true - I'm convinced they're as good as it gets! I came in today for a cleaning and a new patient appointment and left with a smile. See what I did there? The building is located off Willow Street on the same side of the street as Lou's Village, about a half a block down. The dental office has parking in back or you can park on the street. I found that parking in back was easy with ample spots available at the time. Take the elevator upstairs and welcome yourself into a super modern office. To the left are comfy blue cushy chairs to wait (though I think I only sat for about a minute before Tina (hygienist) came out to get me). Straight ahead is where you'll check in for your appointment. I had already filled out my paperwork earlier with Amanda, so all I needed to do was arrive. She had already checked on my insurance - so I was set. We walked down a wide corridor past a few frosted glass panels etched with a delicate floral pattern, into the room I'd be seen in. The rooms themselves are filled with natural light. It's really quite serene. Tina reviewed my chart and proceeded to take my blood pressure. I've never had a dental office do that before, so I thought it was pretty cool. While laying back in the chair I noticed the subtle massage occurring underneath me. Yup, I would be given a massage during my dental appointment - score! If the serene decor and massage don't relax you, there's a TV for you to watch while they're hard at work inside your mouth. I opted for the Food Network, I mean, obviously. Now, I've had my fair share of dental appts but she was by far the most thorough and informative hygienist I've had the pleasure of working with. She didn't ask questions while cleaning which was MUCH appreciated. NO ONE likes to awkwardly gurgle out an answer. She did of course want me to indicate if anything was bothering me. I really enjoyed her. Monica set the panorex machine to match my height and helped me line up with the red laser to make sure I was vertical with the machine. She also handled the x-ray photos and applying the fluoride treatment. Personable and professional. The office is definitely tech savvy with 3D dental imaging and a mini photo-shoot for each tooth (seriously!), along with the standard x-ray machine you've come to know. Each are used by Dr. Kaz to determine the status of your teeth and to formulate a game plan for treatment options during a consultation. I was lucky enough to squeeze this consultation in after the cleaning, photos and x-rays. Dr. Kaz showed me the 3D imaging photo (used to determine if oral cancer is present), the x-rays, and photos of each individual tooth which really brought the experience full circle. It's one thing to nod your head about your teeth, it's quite another to see exactly what's being explained. Seeing all three together depicts a literal picture of what's happening inside. Dr. Kaz most definitely excels at Layman's terms, knowledge and humor. I felt completely at ease with him and the rest of the staff. I do have to return for a filling... but I'm kinda excited. read more
