I've been to Bliss several times to do my nails with Cary, she always has done a great job! But this time I needed a hairdresser, mine that I had for many years, decided to go into another business. I wear a non common hair color called Light Plum that is only available at Sally's. Before making my appointment, I went in person to the salon & spoke to the owner, showed him what I wanted & he called Yadria, one of the colorist/ stylist & asked her if she can do my hair, she said yes! I came prepared with the box of the hair color tube that has the brand's name, name of color & color #. Told her that I get it from Sally's, she said yes, so I proceeded to make an appointment for the following week, giving her time to purchase the color. My appointment date came, & was greeted by receptionist & Cary that was waiting for me, she did my nails first & as always, I was very pleased with her work! Then went to Yandra that after greeting me told me that she went to Sally's near her, but they didn't have the color. Instead, she purchased another brand & different color from the hair supply next door on the same day that I was scheduled, she told me that later on. She gave an option; wait for her to get the color or take a chance with the one that she purchased. I had lots of gray showing, & by looking at the hair color box, it kind of resembled to mine. The procedure started, just by looking at the color I knew it was NOT similar to my color at all, she told to wait until the process is completed & my hair is washed. Another lady washed my hair & when I went I looked in the mirror I knew that was NOT what I wanted, it turned out way to light, plus part of my gray wasn't covered! I expressed my dissatisfaction & a coworker came to me with the hair color chart, she showed me several colors & pointed to one that she thought will resembled to my color. At this point, I was very upset, couldn't stay with the color that Yandra applied, so once more I agreed to have a 2nd color put on my hair. While Yandra was putting the color I noticed shades of red, I definitely didn't want that , I have been wearing red for a long time. My hair was washed & blow dried a bit, & I realized that again, it WAS NOT my color & NOT what I wanted, I previously shower a pic of my hair right after colored. I also told her that I needed a trim, she hardly cut any hair & apologized saying that she's not confortable working with brands that she doesn't know. I just let her blow dry my hair, I just wanted lo leave! I went to pay my bill, for Cary was the usual & left a $10.00 tip that receptionist promised to give to her tomorrow. My bill for the color fiasco was $115.00, my hair is short & very thin. I left her a$20.09 tip anyway & $5.00 for the girl that washed my hair, then I waked out almost in tears. Needles to say that I won't be coming back. I felt kind of disrespected, I was a new customer, Yandra could have been more attentive to my request in order to satisfy me by purchasing the right color! If the Sally's that she went didn't have the color, there are plenty of Sally's that she could have gone, even easier, order the color from the store she went, but apparently she didn't take the time to do so for her new customer. I've come to this place twice, once to do my nails and the other time to do my hair. The salon is in the shopping center located on Bird Road and 67th avenue and it offered everything from nail and hair services to waxing and massages. First, I did my nails with Luly who was wonderful, she showed me some pictures of special nail designs she had done and I chose to get a French gel manicure with gold tip. She did a beautiful job and was very detailed and devoted to performing a quality job. My hair was done by Betty, she also did a wonderful job. Everybody was very nice and attentive, and the place itself is very clean and well-taken care of. I plan to return to try the other services. Highly recommend! read more

Love it! Love the energy and the team was warm, welcoming and magnetic, in every sense of the word. They're a unit; a family. My nail specialist, who also did waxed my eyebrows, is Caridad (I call her Cari). She's great, sweet, professional and she's also hilarious! Nancy, greets you and checks you out and she's is on point from start to finish. Her welcome is warm and kind and her masks and fashion is always on point! Freddy, the owner was extremely nice. I met him today. He introduced himself, thanked me for my business and told me about other services Cari, offers. Looks like l'll be getting a facial also. Can't wait to go back! Absolutely ridiculous. To start I have black hair with an undercut of blonde connecting to a blonde money piece on the right side. I came in looking to get my roots touched up, to touch up exactly what I had. I explained what I wanted and how certain pieces were processed already and how important it was not to get bleach on them only the root ... but was ignored. I had an appointment but was sharing my stylist with not only another client but his phone. After getting bleach on my shirt and pants from lobbing it on my head my stylist disappeared into the back for a while without a word. I decided to just ask the front to rinse and leave, I was assured that I can switch to a "better" stylist and that she'll fix it. I explained exactly what I was looking and how I loved the color I have and ONLY WANT THE ROOTS. still ended up bleaching all of my blonde hair. When I asked what she was doing she said is was a "treatment" because my hair was so dry. Going to the bowl the stylist were chit chatting about how bad it was (in spanish ofc) assuring me that the orange pieces I was seeing were "just the shampoo". She actually redid my middle part crooked so some of the brown is now orange, trying to blend it into white blonde. Because of how lobbed the bleach was, there are random pieces of brown that are gold. As well as pieces that are blonde at the root and brown on the ends. Turns out my front right piece fell off and am now 2 shades lighter (platinum blonde). On top of all else I left with "burn oil" all over my forehead and neck because of how long they left the bleach on my skin. Anytime I would mention something not looking or feeling right I was told they are "professionals" and "know what they're doing" Such a messy process. And ofc at the end of it the want to charge me more than what was agreed on. Unbelievable. Id post pictures but I can't look without sobbing read more

How terribly disappointing to have to give this place 1 star. However, it completely merits that 1 measly star, because it represents the lack of professionalism I experienced this Sunday morning. I made a mani/pedi appt on Friday morning for today at 9am. I specifically asked for Mabel, but was told that she was no longer working with them. I was hesitant to continue making my appointment, because I had no previous experience with another nail technician there but decided to chance it and hope that I would find someone like Mabel, who was excellent. The woman on the phone told me that I was set for Sunday at 9am and I was so happy. I am a new mom of a beautiful baby boy and have not had a mani/pedi appointment in over 5 months! (I know, I know) Anyway, I showed up 5 minutes before my appointment, excited to finally have my mani/pedi after such a long time, and a lady greets me with bright spiky red hair and was courteous but asks me who I am waiting for. I realized then that I did not know the name of the nail tech who would be taking care of me (ugh Natalie, you always ask for names!). But once I told her a had made an appointment two days prior, she told me to sit and wait for LULY the nail tech who would be arriving shortly. LULY shows up 5 minutes later, right on time for my appt. and walks up to me and basically starts telling me that she can't do my hands and feet because she has an *actual appointment* at 9:30am. I expressed to her that I did indeed have an *actual appointment*, explained my conversation yet again with the woman who took my appointment down on Friday, to then hear that it would have to be impossible because she had that 9:30am appointment in the books and that I should have made an appointment!! Red, spiky hair chiming in in the background, basically saying the same thing. I literally looked at these two women, LULY and the spiky red head, and told them that I wouldn't waste my time coming in on Sunday at 9am without an appointment, and that if they couldn't help me then I'd rather go home and be with my child than to be discussing this situation any further with them. They literally shook their heads and didn't know what to say other than mumble about me not having an appointment!! I left infuriated and insulted that these two would waste my time when all I wanted and actually signed up for was my mani/pedi. Needless to say, I walked out and before doing so told them that they lost a customer and I would never be returning. FINAL NOTE: The only good thing at that salon (now that Mabel isn't there - my previous nail tech) is MOLLY the hair stylist - she is amazing and I wouldn't want her to be negatively affected by this review. read more

Bliss is an awesome salon. It has been established for many years and conveniently located on Bird Road and sw 67th Avenue. The staff is always courteous and friendly from the owner Freddy to the receptionist Nancy to those that wash your hair. The salon is always very clean and beautifully decorated. Molly has been my hair colorist and stylist for years with the latest color trends and techniques such as balayage, Botox and keratin and styles from razor cuts and bobs to beach waves. Molly is very friendly, courteous and accommodating. Anita my manicurist for years takes much pride in her work and meticulously provides wonderful manicures and pedicures every time with many color selections in regular and gel products. She is very courteous and accommodating with appointments as well. They have other services like brow styling and facials which I'll be sure to try next for your selection. I having been doing my manicure/pedicure at Bliss with Luly for several years now. The very 1st time I called to make a last minute appointment because I was going on a trip to renew my wedding vows. The receptionist Nancy was very helpful and accommodating. I chose to be a little fashion forward and get my ring finger polished in a contrasting color. When I got home my teen age son, who of course are bluntly honest, told me it was not a good look. I reluctantly called Luly the following day and she told me to come right over. She was so understanding and kind. I then went on my trip to Vegas and she called me to make sure I was happy with my nails and ask if and when I'd be back. I knew I had found my manicurist! I honestly couldn't be happier with the service and treatment I receive at this salon by every person who works there. Going to Bliss is part of my weekly routine. Needed a quick place to do my nails and found Bliss on yelp. Technician was very nice and didnt complain though I was 3 minutes late and time is money. I won't mention her name because it's not her fault I won't return. I dont consider a 25.00 a bargin pedicure, its generally what i pay, however this place didnt have those massage chairs that, though they dont really massage, are relazing nonetheless. They also dont even have the circulating foot baths, you basically sit at a manicire table and soak your feet in bowl. Its a little uncomfortable as you cant see what os being done to your feet or where you need to put them. You vasically have to be guided by the technician. For 25.00 I expect a little more. At least compensate for not having these little luxuries by either giving a little extra rub or lower your price. read more

I have been using the same hairstyle for the last 6 yrs, unfortunately last time I saw her accidentally she stained my new La Martina shirt with a color die from a previous clien. The lady tried very hard to clean the shirt but the die is a strong acid that destroyed my shirt. She was very nice and offered to pay for the shirt and also she want to give me a free haircut. She clawed the outlet and gave me 75$ that honestly paid for half of it, but is ok the gesture is what could. Well a month after I called to make an appointment, when I arrived at the store she refused to cut my service because I made her to paid my shirt. It was sad because she was a different person very an professional and speechless. In my way out I stopped at the front desk to asked why and the receptionist was so rude with me, she was speck in Spanish when I'm not a Latin person, also she told me that I.m not more welcome to this place. I was shock that a bunch of illiterate people treat me like this, when it was not my fault. I try to call to speak with the owner, but he did not call back, I new it, he is a looser and ignorant like all the rest of the people work for him. This show me how people treat loyal customers, they do not care about anything, not proud of the business that they doing, they survive because there is a lot of people that does not know anything better. I wish them the worst business as the time pass, time will tell, and maybe some other people will stop patronage this kind of business. Thank you. read more

Ok so I'm going to state that the tech is why I'm posting this less than stellar review. Honestly the owner being so nice is the only reason I'm giving this 3 stars. I went in for a pedicure for the first time ever here but I get regular pedicures at other places. As a runner my big toes both have an ingrown toenail and I always get it maintained as I get a pedicure in order to prevent inflammation or infection. Despite me telling her, she wasn't understanding she spoke English but Spanish was her dominant language. We ended up using google translate so that she could understand what I wanted( no issue here). Yet she still just pushed the cuticle and did not clip the nail or clean the skin on one of my toes and on the other she actually PUSHED the nail deeper into my skin. Not to mention she kept checking her phones and messaging on them. At one point my foot fell asleep on the stool as she helped another tech hunt down a color ( for another client) and continued to message on her phone. I actually had to ask for the disposable flip flops at the end of my pedicure because she just told me I was done and looked at me blankly like I was going to just tip her right then and there when I was still waiting for the shoes and was incomplete. She kept asking if I wanted a manicure but I was so peeved that I just wanted to finish my pedicure and go. The salon seems to have great products and a nice owner just the tech made me feel less than welcome. The owner was at the reception desk and asked how my visit was but when I explained he seemed to think it was a language barrier but I honestly think she just didn't care because I've had nail techs in the past from Vietnam that spoke no English who still cleaned my ingrown toenail and gave me disposable flip flops. read more

Molly is the only colorist I've trusted with my hair for over 10 years! Somehow, each time I get up from her chair, I look good AND I feel wonderful. She was the one to help me get rid of my waist-length 'salt and pepper' hair and finally take the plunge to color. I left that day looking ten years younger. Molly listens to what her clients want, whether it's a drastic change or just something subtle, and does it at a great price. I recommend her highly.
