They treat you nice how ever , they don't care about your hair , i asked for a balayage and they did highlights that end up green/damage. They do 2 people at the same time and don't pay attention that your hair is getting damage , I asked them to not leave the bleach for so long and they still left to for more than 3 hrs (she kept saying it's fine) because she was too busy with the other client she was doing , my hair was so fragile like thin rubber that would break from just passing my fingers, had to end up cutting it to my shoulders after I had it down my waist... they responded after I complain was "that's normal for your hair to stay like that ." read more

I do my hair with Karina and I've only been to her twice but I absolutely love her work and personality. She's very realistic with me and has helped me achieve the perfect blonde after so many years. What I love the most about her is she considers the health of my hair before color and always expresses that to me. *UPDATE TO MY REVIEW TO RESPOND TO OWNER: Maybe fell out wasn't the correct term, my hair was ripped out at its most fragile state (newly colored & soaking wet). I told you this and I also told your assistant so not sure how "you're taken by surprise." You both shrugged it off and acted like it was no big deal. There was a huge ball of my hair in your sink that you guys took out in front of me. I was going to make an appointment to do something different as I would never do balayage again at your salon and that is when you told me yet again you have raised your prices and I did not move forward booking. I didn't know there was any other way to do balayage so I thought this type of damage was unavoidable . Only after going to several consults at other salons and hearing how damaging your technique is and how badly damaged my hair is did I realize all this could have been avoided . ORIGINAL REVIEW: Pricing has gotten outrageous here. They have raised the price here two times in the last year and I am not talking about a few bucks. It has been raised significantly both times. Getting an appointment is virtually impossible if you want one within a 3 month time span. Did balayage here with Itza and the technique used here ruined my hair and literally half my hair fell out by the time she finished. I was in disbelief as I have been coloring it for years and never had this happen. They tease your hair while applying the color and then while it is soaking wet they rush to comb out all the knots they have created and rip out your hair b/c they are in a hurry. After talking to several other friends and hair stylists I realized this is not the way most other hair stylist do balayage so having half your hair ripped out is something that can be avoided. For $300+ there are many better salons out there. read more

I had gotten my hair done at Hidden Gem about a year ago while I was visiting Miami and loved it so much that I got it done this time too! I had a very specific look I wanted and Kassandra did it perfectly. She was so kind and walked me through every step of the way. I really enjoyed spending time with her and felt so relaxed. She also is the first hairstylist to take the time to teach me how to properly use purple shampoo (something I have never known how to do). I was excited to come in to get my hair done for my birthday after DMing my picture idea, knowing that it's never going to come out 100% the same but trusting that I will be listened to. I get things happen - a 45 min wait with initial appointment, forgotten drink, last minute rescheduling by salon (twice), and that's fine. What's not okay to me is Karina & Natalie teamed up on me saying the result was a valid interpretation even though I expressed that I was unhappy since its clearly not what I asked for. I showed the DMs of the requested color but got dismissed anyways. I wish they cared just a little bit more. I'm not going to let this ruin my birthday but I really wish I had a better experience. This salon is the best! Ive been doing my hair here since they opened. If you're a loyal customer they do everything possible to accommodate you. I always leave here happy with my hair done or any services. This is the only salon I feel comfortable going to and being totally fine with any stylist doing my hair. They are all so wonderful! My stylist is one of the owners Karina. She's the sweetest and really works with my hair. My hair is very thin and she does tape in extensions installation for me & keeps me blonde. She's the best! My stylist Itza and her assistant did a thorough consult where she explained what was achievable and what wasn't. This helped me understand what I was getting and what to expect. The whole process was discussed and I was walked through each step. The final result was absolutely beautiful and it feels so good! I have never been so in love with my hair.
