I called prior to see if we could get 4 people in, they assure us yes to come straight over, they started on 3 of us and an hour later one of the guys stopped working on one of ours and started on our 4th person. We ended up waiting over and hour and 45 min for a crappy pedi, we paid for deluxe and they missed half of the things included with the deluxe pedi and then didn't even give a leg or foot massage. They also put gel nail polish without asking and charged us $20 more on top of the $55 pedi! Don't waste your time or money here! read more

It was ok. They were reasonably friendly and did a good job. It wasn't spectacular, and my nail color seemed a bit thick. This is a personal preference, though. We weren't in the salon forever, and the services didn't seem rushed, though my friend was nicked during their service, no apology was offered. went in for a quick powder manicure, that's what they called it. I knew that meant dip so I was willing. started with the dip in a way that I've never seen, using the brush like you would acrylics and painting it on my fingers going way over my nail beds and cuticles. As he was filing and shaving them I told him that it was off my fingernail and on my fingers causing my fingers to look like clubs and he basically ignored me and pretended like he knew it happened and tried to fix it, but it didn't work. I left less than satisfied and I wouldn't recommend coming here for a dip manicure. Ken acted like I was a nuisance when I was telling him that there were mistakes in my with my nails, I'm not usually a Karen about this stuff but I know a bad manicure when I see one. read more

the best nail salon in Lubbock. Seriously. I've tried so many other places and not only do my nails look amazing, they offer a student discount of $5 off. They pay attention to detail and we're very friendly even when I asked for small changes in shape etc. I called ahead and they said to come in at 3 and when I did, THEY ACTUALLY WERE READY TO DO MY NAILS. Doesn't seem like a big deal but I've been to countless places that give you a time to come in and then have you wait an extra 20 minutes which defeats the whole purpose of calling ahead. Very clean and not too busy when I walked in on a Friday night, but I would've enjoyed my experience more if the guy doing my pedicure hadn't run off to grab a cigarette and come back reeking of smoke. I think he was also too concerned with talking to the manicurist next to me to do no more than an okay job. He also left to empty out trash cans and returned to put on my topcoat without washing his hands. I'll be back if I'm desperate. read more

Don't go here!! Let me say first that my friend and I went here. She was fabulously happy with her nails, I was not. Have been shopping around for a nail salon bc my nail girl moved away:(. I'd heard about this place and decided to try it out... the place was busy, no big deal. They got me in within 10 minutes. I wanted a natural, solar gel nail...disappointing!! Felt rushed and the guy didn't even clean the excess glue/gunk under the nail. When I did say something, the other girl barely said a word...everyone just ducked their head and kept their eyes averted. No big deal if there was just a language barrier but when it's an atmosphere of "just deal with it," it feels like I just flushed $30 down the toilet. I went to pretty nails to get a mani and pedi and I will not go back! I had a painful pedicure, where the woman doing my pedicure cut my big toe in 3 places. I called to complain, since my toe continued to bleed for 2 days and had puss coming out of it. They said they would give me a free pedicure, but once my toe healed (2 weeks later) the man on the phone said "we work for money here and don't give free services." DO NOT GO HERE!! read more

Get my nails done here when I'm in Lubbock. I always get the gel overlay with shellac ($40-not including tip). Thao is the best at doing nails; she uses the tools that doesn't hurt your nails and is very gentle and informative. I've had 2 other guys do them, but Thao is the best....if you come here you may wanna ask for her to do your nails. They also redecorated the place and looks pretty nice. This place is close to where I live so it's convenient. However every time I come with my 11 year old daughter who is just here to get her nails painted she is ignored. I end up having to say something and am left waiting on her after my pedicure is done. Reminds me of why I hardly come here. They don't value all paying customers. read more

My cuticles look good and the shape of my nails is nice. But the polish choices were limited and frankly not exciting. I usually have to narrow down a handful of choices but this morning, I felt like I was settling for a color I don't like. Also: even though it's not super important when choosing a nail salon, it was kind a boring atmosphere with lacking decor. When you go to get those pintrest nails, you tend to expect an aesthetically pleasing environment. But this place has some little golden (asian inspired?) cats and posters of flowers, and not much more. Probably not gonna be my first choice in the future, but I'd probably return if I want something conveniently near where I live for a reasonable price. (My manicure was $20 before tip.) read more

Most painful pedicure of my life. I visit Lubbock often but do not live here. I will never be back to this nail salon ever! My biggest complaints are that it's very dirty and painful! First, the place is visibly unclean. The walls, the chairs and even the nail tools all appear to be dirty. Even the bathroom looks like it hadn't been cleaned in a long time. I can vouch for the unclean nail tools , first hand. They cleaned all their tools in the dirty water that my feet laid in, after my pedicure. Then they put the tools away for the next use. Those were the same tools that they used to slice up my toes when they cuticle clipped me. I have blood toes and the entire pedicure stung because of this. They only received 2 stars from me because the massage was good and the pedicure doesn't look terrible. It just hurts! When the scabs set in, that might change my opinion. Don't even get me started about the bloody towel they put on my legs! Avoid this place, you don't need an infection!!! read more

I was trying to find a great nail salon in Lubbock, so I decided to try Pretty Nails. I was extremely pleased with my acrylic nails. The male nail technician that did my nails was very nice and talkative once his boss started talking to me. He did a great job on my nails, but it wasn't the best I have ever had. He was nice enough not to charge me for the removal of my old set of acrylic nails. The place was a little pricier than other nail salons, but I would still recommend this place because the quality of the work makes up for the slightly high prices. read more

Got my gel nails done here last week and I have to say this is the best nail job I've ever gotten! The finished product was a lot better than I expected. My only problem was the staff was a bit intimidating at first, almost unwelcoming, but they weren't rude or anything. I will NEVER GO BACK!! I've been her about 4-5 times spending around $200. Today I went in and the place was empty. I needed a refill, and the older lady was doing my nails. I had my boyfriends brother with me who is 9. He wanted to sit next to me while I got my nails done, the lady told him to grab the chair behind me so he did. She was doing my nails so rough one burned & I pulled away and said "ow" she just stared at me & didn't even apologize. Strike 1. The little boy I was with accidentally bumped the table gently and says "I'm sorry" and she slammed down the file and was moving her hands and said "can you tell him to stop bumping the table!" So rude to a child. Strike 2. Some girls walked in and needed their nails done, the boy I was with was sitting in the guys chair (Tang) bc the lady told him to grab it, he throws his hands up and goes "ugh". Like seriously? Then when he sat down he bumped the boy with his chair. Strike 3. I was so heated. The lady doing my nails just goes at them with the file not even asking how I wanted them. I told her I wanted them short. She rolled her eyes slammed the file down once again. So finally I said "do you have a problem?!" And she yells "tell me you want them short before I start doing them!" (She didn't even shape them or anything they were the same shape they were when I walked in) Which I replied "why don't you ask instead of being rude and having attitude?!" I straight up walked out. You figure since I've been there multiple times and have spent so much money there they would be more respectful & nice. They're so disrespectful & unprofessional don't waste your money here. I got an eyebrow wax here. I had to wait about 30 minutes on a Sunday afternoon since they were so busy. I didn't mind, especially after they apologized for the long wait! The waxing lady did not wash her hands between people and the waxing area was basically just a chair in the corner of the salon. Overall, I'm happy with what they did and I will go back. read more
