Took my husband for a mani and pedi and he's retired military. He did a few tours in Loa and other parts of Vietnam, and speaks some Vietnamese. He had his translator app on and translated what the two nail techs were discussing. I have attached the conversation. I am totally appalled and disappointed as I have befriended a couple of the technicians in this salon. We shared the translation with their 1200 pm appointment fsa, and admonish those that frequent this establishment to be aware of the racism you are financially supporting. Oh my god, do not come here. Under new management and it shows!!! Hands down the worst experience I've ever had at a nail salon, and I've had plenty mediocre experiences, but this one took the cake. I'm not understanding how you employ nail techs who can't do a SIMPLE mani, pedi, or French design. I've been here a few times and had no complaints, always fast, efficient, great work. But I had no idea management changed hands because I moved out of state. Anyway, I'm writing this as I soak the horrid SNS set I received yesterday off IN ORDER TO get my money back. I only took one photo of the work as I was absolutely livid and rushing to a birthday dinner. The tech I had could BARELY do a French mani on my feet, I had to literally instruct her. The SNS mani was so sloppy, thick, and she ruined my nail shape and length which will take weeks to grow back/repair. The manager didn't even care that someone was leaving their shop with this quality of work. She said she'd give me 10% off and if I come back the next day to remove the polish she'll then refund me or do a new set for free. And get this - the soak off took an hour. Yea, at this point, I think they were going out of their way to make me miserable. I forgot to mention it took THREE HOURS to do a mani pedi with NO design. Also, if you've ever been to Bliss in the last 2 years, you know that it's always jumping! Yesterday and today it's been a total of 5 customers during peak hours - that should've been my first indication that something wasn't right. There's also constantly a wait because they seem to only have 5 people working at a time - on Fridays and saturdays! I will NEVER patron this business again and would never recommend. read more

On the website for Bliss Nails and Spa 1, it is listed that a standard pedicure is $30. I made an appt to have one. When I arrived, I said that I was there for my appt and that I was having a standard pedicure. Once seated in the nice massage chair with my feet soaking in the warm water (the best parts of the experience) the pedicurist brought over a laminated sheet with the prices. Here the standard pedicure was listed as $35. When I said I wanted the $30 standard pedicure listed on the website, the woman who had very limited English, struggled to understand me as I struggled to understand her. Finally, we understood each other and she pointed to the laminated sheet saying "New price! New price!" I was there so I went ahead. The experience was painful. Several times I said "That hurts!" or "You are hurting me!" She did pause but didn't understand me, and so continued with her painful ways. When she was finished, she said "Stay here until dry" and she left. I waited thinking she would come back and say I could go, but she never did. After 20 minutes, I tapped my nails and they seemed to be dry to I headed to the cashier to pay. I said I had the standard $35 pedicure and the person said "Oh, that's $40 now." I exclaimed my surprise and asked what the hell they were doing, advertising one price on the website, another price on the laminated card, and a third price when it was time to pay! This cashier seemed to be the daughter of a worker, looking no more than 14 years old. She said "Yeah, I am sorry but that's the price." When I got home, I took a closer look at the pedicure. She made no attempt to brush the polish to the ends of my nails so the pedicure looks kind of like bad press on nails. I know some people would have asked to speak to the manager, but I'm not one of those types. So I paid, mentally making a note to never return. The next day I woke up to painful toes that are all clearly infected. I do not think they sterilize anything, and I'm not sure they even clean them. It has only been 2 days so I am hoping the infection will clear up. I don't want to have to pay for a doctor visit on top of this ripoff. I will not go back. read more

Tbh I don't leave many review but this was the WORST nail salon experience I've ever had. Truly save yourself the trouble and go somewhere else. The chairs, walls and bowls were fithy (I know most salons aren't perfect but this one was completely disgusting). On top of that, the nail tech Tracy did my entire pedicure in 15 minutes, didn't do half of the things she was supposed to and worst off didn't do a top coat on my gel. I did not have a good experience as a walk in. I'd just arrived home from a two week vacation and my nails had wear and tear from the water wear. I just wanted to soak my gel and white powder manicure off as well as my gel pedicure. When I went in the salon with my husband the owner's children were greeting customers. That's fine. I love a family business and I love kids! The children were charming and sweet. The teenage son said they didn't have anyone available but that he could soak my nails. I declined nicely and started to leave but he said so charismatically "What you don't me to do it?" I chuckled and decided to let him at least start the process. My primary complaint is no adult greeted us. Said "hello" or "welcome." Perhaps it was because I was not getting a service redone (only a soak off) but I like to allow my nails time to breathe. If I thought the service was good I could and likely would have returned in a week. I like to change up salons now and again. The unique fact is that I happen to be a popular influencer with a large following who often recommends businesses in the local area. Regardless, all customers should be made to feel welcome. Anyway, the son was having a difficult time wrapping my nails though he was really trying. He was engaging and apologetic. No tech was coming to help him despite the struggle or kindly explaining to me as the client how long it would take for an experienced tech to take over. Eventually my husband (who previously owned one of the first Black owned nail salons in MD many years ago) said let's go. We will go someplace else. The owner then had who I believe is her husband to come and properly finish the job. This whole process took over an hour. It wasn't a pleasant experience. I was charged $25. When the son thought I was tipping him he declined which was sweet and thoughtful. My one star is for the children. The establishment seems to have a good rapport with their regular customers but as a new potential client and walk in I would not recommend nor would I ever return. I'd just broken a nail around the corner, the middle of the day, so I went in to have my nail repaired. I'd actually just had pedicures with my daughter a few nights prior and had recieved EXCELLENT SERVICE $$$ The woman sitting in the second row says she will help me. I love this place! I started going here a year ago. I love the fact that everyone is friendly. Mrs. Tina used to be the manager but they are now under new management. The gentleman is very nice and accommodating. Greets everyone and makes sure they are comfortable. They open brand new packs of utensils for each person. AND they will serve wine or water during your experience!!! If you are getting a pedicure, they have invested in disposable liners in their foot tubs. They did that to provide a sanitary environment. I love this! There are a lot of options to choose from in your type of pedicure. I've treated myself to the paraffin one. It felt so good and made my legs silky smooth. The manicures are great as well. There are a few choices for a manicure. I've always kept mine simple though. Gel manicure with a lovely hand massage. I like that they do clean under your nails. I've had both my feet and hands done with gel color. My feet last 2 months at least. I am grateful that I have always had an awesome experience there. If you do go, let them know Cindy sent you! He gives me circle nails after I tell him 3x's. He then replies and says my fingers are fat. So unprofessional. Don't ever bother to get a pedicure bc the female technician. Didn't catch her name but she favors a pug puppy and sits directly behind Ken. Anywho, smacked my foot intentionally trying to put my sandal on. I have been coming to this salon for a while however this is the third time I have gone since they reopened due to COVID and unfortunately my manis have gotten worse and worse each time I have gone. My pedicure was great! My regular manicure? Not so great. The nail polish is clumpy, smudged and rushed. I opted for a regular mani because my nails were so damaged after the gel I got here a few weeks ago. I am tempted to go home and do it for myself. Unfortunately I think since the salon has changed the prices have gone up while the quality has semi gone down. I've been coming here for years and have absolutely loved it. The people have always been nice and made sure to make conversation but after this last experience I'm not sure if I want to come back. I had a $15 gift card and went in for a manicure. I was sat at a nail station pretty fast and the lady came out with a smile but when she asked if I wanted gel I said 'no thank you' and her smile instantly fell and it seemed as if she was done with my doing my nails right there. A few minutes later she pushed gel yet again and I said 'no thanks I'm good with a manicure'. That is the last time this lady talked to me until she was done with my hand massage and told me to clean my hands. I came back and she then asked if I wanted my eyebrows done. Again, I said no thank you and that was the last time this woman talked to me. I ended up not giving her a tip and I don't think I'll be returning. I understand upselling, but the fact that I felt like a burden because of it is definitely not cool with me. Small update ; my nails aren't filed right and have a rough feel to them. I was under the impression that this place was owned by the other Bliss in Odenton which is where I usually go but I found out from the Odenton location that this place and Annapolis have used the Bliss name and added 1 to it... but they are not owned by the same people. The friendly folks at the Odenton location are pretty upset by this... which if I were the owner I would be too. Anywho... This particular location had great service. Lots of colors to select from. Just as Odenton, they offer SNS nails... which is extremely healthy for your nails and much harder than gel. Had I known that they offered SNS, I would have been getting a long time ago. (I now have SNS nails on again). You can either add length or put over your real nail. Purely off service and quality this place is a 5 star. I took my girlfriend here for her birthday, and it was a great experience that I had to even get a pedicure as well! We went on a Friday in the middle of the afternoon and they were pretty busy, but we got taken care of within 15-minutes so it wasn't long (but it is advised to make an appointment). During your pedicure foot bath, you get free drinks (water, soda, or even WINE); the latter by itself is a winner. For my first experience, I thought it was great lather massage on my feet and I never felt my feet and legs so smooth. We also got the Paraffin wax treatment ($8 extra) to the classic pedicure of $30. My girlfriend got SNS manicure and she was very impressed by her nail specialist, her name was Ana. We also had Judy helping us, which she was good too. Very nice atmosphere and clean! This nail salon is pretty, sanitary, and the techs do a really good job. When you first walk in, the waiting area is inviting and separated, like a high-end salon. I love the presentation of the SNS and gel colors in a display box instead of flipping through a ring of colors. As for cleanliness, they open new packs of disposable items (like buffing pads) for each customer. Also, there are no offensive smells here that can be found at other salons. Now, on to the service. The massage chairs for pedicures are sooo relaxing and they use liners for the pedicure bowls. The techs make you feel comfortable and never rushed. My hands and feet always look great. I get the SNS nail dip manicure and it lasts for 3 weeks! Just know that this is an upscale nail salon so the prices are in line with what you would expect to pay at a day spa. read more

Gave this place a chance after reading all the reviews. But unfortunately I was not pleased with the end product. I have been getting SNS powder(dipping powder) for a while now. So my nails were long in healthy. Wanted to get a fill but wanted my nail shape changed from square to coffin shape. Asked the nail tech if it's something he can do and he confirmed that he could. I was left with different shaped nails. My nails went from long healthy nails to short and stubby. Instead of the nail tech apologizing for messing up he was upset and handled the rest of the service very poorly. If you have another place in mind go there instead. read more
