She took the time to answer all of my questions and made sure I was as comfortable as possible during the process. The procedure itself took about 15 minutes, not counting the additional time needed to let the numbing cream kick in. As she started the procedure, we realized that more numbing cream was needed, so that was another 10 to 15 minutes tacked on to the time. Unfortunately, the procedure was not as painless as was initially described, but it's not prohibitively uncomfortable. Dr. Kim checked in with me throughout the process and if I needed a break, she would take a pause and give me one. After the procedure, Dr. Kim gave me some wound care instructions as well as some ointment to put on the site as it healed. I'm happy to report that there was no pain or discomfort after the procedure. Procedure side, I love the energy of this place. There's all kinds of holistic, homeopathic, and ayurvedic materials in here including incense, tea, crystals, candles, sage bundles, palo santo, and all sorts of sprays and tonics to help purify your home or your environment. There are even gift sets for all the holistic homegirls in your life. They also sell accessories including ankle bracelets and custom waist beads imported from Ghana. Every single one of the staff members I've met has been absolutely wonderful. Warm, and friendly, and welcoming. I can't wait to come back and try some of the other services offered by this wellness spa-- I've especially got my eye on a good, long massage and guided stretch session.

September is National Yoga month and Spiritual Essence is giving classes for $5 thru the end of the…read moremonth. I have never taken Yoga before, so I figured this would be a good way to explore. I followed the instructions on the website by emailing them and letting them know which class I wanted to attend. They were prompt with getting back to me. I showed up Saturday morning to the Intro to Yoga class at 10:30 am. I for whatever reason bought a mat some time ago and had it in my trunk, but if you do not have a mat they provide them free of charge. The space is a clean little renovated house/studio with enough room for about 10 to 12 people. I liked that it was small and intimate. The instructor was very pleasant and asked us our names and why we decided to try Yoga. Then she put on the soft music and took us into a range of motions while explaining what everything meant and what areas of the body we were working. Everything flowed naturally, it was not intimidating at all, she offered alternate poses for the less limber and inexperienced. She welcomed questions through the process, but most of us were so into the flow we talked more with our bodies than with our mouths. I left with a clear head and calm demeanor. The website is very detailed down to telling you the class level (gentle, rigorous, active), who the instructors are, and what you will be doing in each class. So much to choose from: There is meditation, Yoga for weight loss, Yoga abs& powerful flow, prenatal yoga, and so much more! I've tried several different spas, seen several different massage therapists over the years including a couple high end ones, and I am VERY picky about my therapist, with high standards. Tried my first full bod deep tissue massage with Skyy at his home spa (which was simple and cozy, not suffocating, with nice lighting and aromatherapy). Mindblown by the whole experience. He's very professional with great bedside manner, and if you ask, he'll explain why you have muscle tensions in certain areas. Deep knowledge of skeletal musculature and how it relates to health and the body. Very intuitive. Skyy made sure I felt comfortable and safe at all times, and before we started, of course asked about what areas I wanted to work on. What sold me was the fact that unlike most other massage therapists, you can tell he pours his heart into his work, and to him you're not just one of a dozen clients. Clearly it's not just a job for him- it's his calling. Most massage therapists have their own specialization of course, but they follow pretty much the same routine every time so nothing is really new, and you can tell it's all just habitual. Skyy allows his intuition to lead and (while still ensuring you're comfortable) will switch things up based on what your body needs. Never met anyone so gifted. He's not cheap but he charges what he's worth, because you definitely leave the table feeling like you got way more value than you paid for. It's an investment in your physical, mental, and emotional health. If you've never been to see him...you're missing out. Thank me later.

I found the receptionist upbeat and professional. The questions filled out seemed like a waste of time because it did not change the focus of the massage or areas I didn't care for. The massage had some relaxing moments, but I left with the same tension I came in to fix. Very little time on shoulders and more time on legs than requested. In the end a warm towel was placed on the counter for me to use once the massage ended. That's a first. It's very common to wipe lotion or oils off back to not stain clothing etc. I felt a lack of personalized service. I was tempted to end a few mins early, but the curosity kept me there. The carpet was also very dirty. It felt like it had not been cleaned in a long time. I did not like being barefoot in that room.
