honestly one of the best choices I made for my self care. Never gotten a facial and was really hesitant on where and what to get especially since I was worried about how my skin would look and feel after. But I'm so glad I went here. I just had a fantastic "Extractor" facial from Salina. I've been suffering from seasonal allergies and some recent travel that's just left my skin feeling blocked/clogged so I booked myself an appointment with Salina to help me out. Not only did she deal with all my problem areas but she gave me great consultation AND spent time to explain and extract some Milia bumps I had on my forehead...something my doctor told me a derm was going to have to burn off...She's a life saver and a great reminder to always check with your estitician first :) Now, just to wait another 24 hours before I can face the world again :D read more

I visited the Queen East Blitz Beauty Bar for the extractor facial since it was close by. The aesthetician was rough with my skin, dragging it in multiple directions. The extractions were not thorough, and painful to say the least. I ended up getting more breakouts after the session, which was extremely disappointing. She used the spatula heavily around my nose area and my skin ended up peeling drastically within the next 24 hours. I am not sure if this is normal... I asked for advice on skin care tips to help with the breakouts in the meantime, she mentioned to rebook another session as she could tell it's been quite some time since I had a facial. I am in close proximity to Blitz so I decided to make an appointment. It's my first appt in a really long time. I don't usually get facials and thought I'd put it into my routine now. I got "the works". My aesthetician was pleasant. The overall experience I'd say was just okay. When I got home there were make up bits under my eyebrows ... which I guess is due to being careful around the eyes? Around my nose there was still a lot of gunk left. She was trying to extract parts of my face that I knew wouldn't work- and I told her to stop because it was so painful. But then she stopped altogether and didn't extract the obvious parts where there were tonnes of gunk in my pores. The head massage was ok- good pressure but not very massage like- more like a series of head scratches. The last bit- they recommended their own products and I bought one- came home to realize that the pump didn't work - I have to go back now. This is quite annoying for me, though I know- they can't control that. I'd likely go to another business given the experience I got from a treatment called "the works". Maybe I was supposed to supplement with another treatment to make it more lux? But no one asked me for that option so I wouldn't know. read more

I called to make an appointment and was not sure which treatment to book. The person on the phone said that the esthetician would recommend what treatment I would need when I went in for the appointment. She started doing work on me and I asked her about my face and she said I was booked in for the works. It was absolutely horrible. All she did was recommend products for me to buy and did not listen to what my concerns were about my face and skin. Just a horrible experience. I went in on December 19th and her name was Shelsea I think. She did not even introduce herself. I had read such great reviews about this place but unfortunately the esthetician was not experienced. My first facial experience was awful. I got the works. Nothing was explained to me while the facial was taking place. Steam (I believe) was on my face for a long time but only on the right side of my face. My left side didn't experience it. I have scabs all over my face from the extraction and removal of mila. It has been 3 days and my face is still sore in those areas and the majority of my mila wasn't touched (and I didn't have that many). During the facial they put cream or something on my eyelids. I have never known anyone to put cream on eyelashes. I couldn't see at the end of the facial and my eyes were blurry and watered all night. I am not impressed with spending over $200 for an awful experience with no change in my appearance , just the addition of scabs and puffy eyes. read more

Was super excited to have a facial for the first time since I had a baby, but I have to say I was disappointed with my experience. The esthetician didn't explain anything, so I had no idea what she was putting on my face or why, and when I asked her questions about skincare, she didn't seem to know anything/want to answer them. I've been to other reputable facial spas (not going to name) and honestly, this tops all!! Their appointment booking online is efficient and great for us that have multiple meetings, working from home these day!!! Upon arrival (you're asked to arrive only 5 minutes prior), there's sanitizer and your temperature is taken. Yes, it's a different concept in that all the chairs are in an open room, however when I was there nobody else was in the spa. I found it comfortable and not exposed at all, even during the COVID times. My eyes were closed the whole time so I don't really care if I'm in a private room or not as long as health precautions are taken, which they were. You're asked to not speak (not open your mouth MOISTLY basically) during the treatment, and if you have any questions to raise your hand and allow a moment to put on your mask. It is recommended to bring a clean mask for your post facial. My esthetician had a face shield as well for extra precaution. My esthetician was knowledgeable and professional and took some time afterwards to give me some tips. She suggested micro needling for my scarring but didn't force a sale on me, which I really appreciated!! read more

I had a lovely experience at Blitz Facial Bar a few weeks ago! I chose to go with the "Blitz & Glow" facial and indeed, after my facial, I was glowing! The service was friendly, the ambiance chic without being overdone, and the facial itself was quite good. Despite walking in without an appointment, the Blitz staff were very accommodating in taking both my friend and I for facial appointments at the same time! I do wish they would include extraction with their $50 facial, so that is my only reason to detract a * based on value. That said, I plan to return again soon for my monthly touch up! read more

I have had microdermabrasion before and various other treatments at other places and Blitz was a wonderful experience. The aesthetician was very nice and helpful. I'm pregnant as well and she was very accommodating. I liked that I didn't have to be lying on my back - the inclined chair was very comfortable. I will definitely be back again! read more

I had been to Leslieville and really loved "The works". It was was the first time i had done micro and Krystal was fabulous at her work. She was very courteous and professional. The space is very welcoming, although wished they also had few private rooms or privacy screens for people who may not be comfortable in the open with others. Fortunately, there was no one except us in the bar. My overall experience was great except for my teenager who was not at all happy with his aesthetician. She did not do any skin consultation with him, nor talked about routines to follow, nor made him feel welcomed. There was no difference in his skin before and after the facial. Probably, it seemed she was not open to diversity or thought that teen did not require much attention. Whereas she should have realized that teens are more sensitive nowadays. G.K. read more

The setup and setting is far from cozy or private and the after-hours phone message is austere and clinical . You can't leave a message . However the solid reputation behind this business drew me and I received a beneficial "The Works" facial ( incl. extractions) administered by a thorough and very attentive, experienced technician on a cold winter afternoon. Tired old face was banished. Next day, an amazingly , fresh dewy face emerged ( some gentle microdermabrasion part of this service ). Prices are competitive but in each Blitz service description you will find a unique add-on possibility or a thoughtful science-based reference that. Grounds this salon in the realreal. And while you are not cosseted in a tiny private closet half undressed under a towel, the large white spaciness and professional aesthetics beds, recliners etc provide comfort and breathing room. Nor was there was a hard sell on must-have products ( I bought a $45 tube of the increasingly hard to find French cleansing clay ) or a non-negotiable "series" of treatments for done exponential sum. I want to give Blitz another go, try one of maybe 6 or 7 other facials, and see if I can overcome my reserve and add a star to make it a five-star destination for salon (specifically cleansing ,healing and improvement-oriented skin services ) care in a new setting. Was it covid stuff like no green T or water offering? No one to take my coat tight away and provide fuzzy slippers ? Am not sure but will sleuth it out soon and I'm looking forward to it. read more

Every facial I've ever paid for has been in a private room, and I was able to lie down on a bed. At Blitz Facial you're on a chair that's inclined back and in an open area with everyone else having a facial. It was uncomfortable. Also, the person doing the facial usually takes off ALL makeup etc. before beginning. This did not happen for my friend and I maybe it was because the employees were trying to stay under the 30 min limit. The website also states that I was suppose to be given post facial tips before I left Blitz Facial and this also did not happen. I recommend you save up or wait for deal somewhere else and pay 20-40 dollars more. You'll get a longer more thorough facial and privacy. read more
