Went in on Mon to grab a sandwich. Lady in yellow shirt(still on phone talking to friend)takes my order. She put phone down on speaker and just grabs my bread and starts making it...with NO gloves on! I look over and she then puts on one glove but not both hands while still moving her phone around. Then is ripping my turkey with bare hand then using gloved hand to finish making my sandwich. Are you serious! Not cool at all. If this is how you make food for people stay away from this place. She should not be making food for customers.....hope the owner is aware of what is happening. read more

Do yourself a favor: don't get a breakfast sandwich here. Why? First, they are pre made and sit under a lamp like you get at Wawa. Second, they aren't very tasty. Third, they cost almost $10.00 each! Went to the 44 st location for the first time because their website says "best breakfast sandwiches" and the door says "coffee bar" to find the worst breakfast sandwiches I've ever had in a very soggy greasy bagel. I must've said to toast the bagels at least three times in the conversation. None of the bagels were toasted. It's not like they were busy. There were three or four people in there, how hard is it to make a good breakfast sandwich and toast a couple of bagels I don't know. The coffee was old, behind the counter with a tiny little self service station full of a couple of creamers and sugar. Not sure why there's "self service coffee bar" announced above the front door. They weren't particularly overly friendly either, nevertheless I won't be going back. We will stick to Mrs. Brizzles even though half the time their bagels are a little bit stale and the breakfast sandwiches are way too expensive, they are still 1 million times better. read more

Sadly, Blitz's Market has dropped off dramatically. They prioritized modernization over maintaining the character of the old place / what so many people valued about Blitz's over the years. Service also not what it used to be. Good for breakfast sandwiches in a pinch but the bagels are trash and undertoasted. Market interior is really nice now, solid option for minimal groceries (almost like a corner store in Philly but nicer). Will be looking for a replacement for what used to be my go to spot in Sea Isle. read more

I come here pretty often when down and I have to say they're very consistent. Some of the staff however can be rude at times or they look at you weird but I guess that's fine. The food and drinks are pretty consistent though like I've said and I've been coming down here every year that I come down. The store can be kind busy as well and with the self serve coffee area it's small and it can be overwhelming but that's fineThe store is well stocked however going past the food and drinks section of the store. Updating from an old review! They are fully stocked this year with beach supplies, food, toiletries etc. They also have some good looking baked goods (bagels, donuts, sticky buns). Definitely would recommend if you need to grab something quick and want to avoid cvs or acme. The prices are a little high but I guess that's what you get for convenience. Also, still love going there for their iced lattes and coffees since it is La Colombe. I have not gotten any of their cooked foods or sandwiches though. read more

Well, after 24 seasons of working, managing, and then owning Blitz's in Sea Isle City, I am leaving at the end of 2015. My lease is up and I am not renewing. It is time for me to find a year round, stable job as my kids are entering an age where I feel a responsibility to be there more for them. No more crazy hours and trying to juggle priorities. The atmosphere in the market is great, has a great selection and a great unique ordering style. I ordered a Cheesesteak and fries, being from philly I have a very good idea of what a good cheesesteak should be. The roll was mushy and too beady could have been so much better if it was toasted. The meat itself was fantastic, juicy and perfectly cooked. It had a perfect meet to cheese ratio. The fries are too thick and not crispy enough but were at least cooked. My biggest problem and why I'm not giving this a 4 to 5 star review is the prices. The prices are not extremely out of the range but are definitely above what I should be paying. read more

Placed an order for two large onion rings and two orders of mozzarella sticks. Got them home and realized that they were very light. (Way lighter than I remembered). Opened them up and there were about 6 onion rings In each container. They are 6.99 an order! Blitz's needs to step their game up to what they used to be. the burger I had ordered was dry not good. the coffee was delicious and way better than the food part of blitz's some of their stuff was good but the service was excellent got right to work on our food. the atmosphere feels like a grocery store and not like a true restaurant but overall was a great experience but do not recommend the burger but I recommend the carmel iced coffe. read more

Place is a complete mess ever since they remodeled the store. Don't have the same quality cooks working the grill. Tonight, our chicken in our wraps was pink and completely uncooked. Returned to the store to show the manager and he responded "sorry we were swamped." NOT AN EXCUSE! TL/DR: Uncooked chicken, 2hr wait for food, food quality has been terrible ever since they remodeled. As a Townsend Inlet resident, I am really hoping they get some new management soon and fix that place. They need management to make sure their workers know how to make edible food. read more

Don't order a chicken parm. They drop an already burnt piece of chicken into a frier for a chicken parm and then cook it on the grill. They also have numerous employees that are handling food and money without using gloves or washing their hands. Would not recommend. read more

We have been (as summer rental visitors) been using Blitz's since it was Sweetmans. Unitl this summer all was wonderful. I am wondering if the managemnet changed this year. In the past we have alwsys gotten a large filet mignon roast and had it cut into steaks. Until this year I was able to place the order over the phone and pay at pick up the next day. When I called this year I was treated very rudely on the phone by the manager. The person who answered was unable to give me any information. I had to wait some time for the manager to even pick up. Even his tone of voice was belligerant. I guess he has too much business! He told me I had to come in person to place the order. I did so the same day. The young people who tried to assist me were polite but were unable to tell me how many steaks were available in any of the filet mignon roasts which were for sale. I had to wait for the manager. When he finally arrived (i'm estimating at least a half hour before he even came to the counter). There was no greeting at all. His attitude was surly and I was not permitted to leave the store while I was waiting (another half hour at least) for the steaks to be cut. This was even if I paid in advance. This info was relayed to me in a vey angry voice! I am bewildered by the change in a store where I have always been treated favorably. The meat has always been superior and I looked forward each year in the past to patronizing them again. Next year I will go to Sea Isle but shop in Ocean City. read more

OMG 30 minutes to get a pound of meat and swiss cheese. The two young woman took our order, then stood with their backs to us for ten minutes before even looking for the meat and cheese, then after a five minute search, gingerly opened it and sliced it one slice at a time, walking across the deli area with each slice to weigh it. It was torture to watch. They could have been from Mars based on their familiarity with what liverwurst looks like, and how much meat or cheese constitutes a pound! No, "We're new here or thank you for your patience." I could have driven to Acme and back and eaten by the time I got out of there. Shame on the management for not either training these kids or not hiring kids with more desire to serve customers. I dread how the store will be when there are actually people in there! I am not giving one star just due to mediocre overpriced takeout, but because of my encounter with the, in my opinion, rude and obnoxious owner, Ken. I placed an order and repeated it back to the person taking my order over the phone. When my son went to pick the order up, he gave our name and was HANDED the order by the person behind the counter. When he came home there was an extra cheesesteak in the order which we were charged for. After a circular conversation with Ken, in which he made excuses that must have made sense to him, such as the person that takes the order is not the same person that places the orders on the counter, etc., not only did Ken refuse to refund my money for the uneaten cheesesteak, but he then accused my son of "taking someone else's order"! read more

Just ordered two pizza and I have to say they were probably the worst pizzas I have every had. Normally you think "how bad could it be"...guess what it was that bad! Bought the pizzas for two families and not one person could say anything good to say about them. I had my reservations when they weren't ready in a timely fashion and they were still sitting on a "conveyor belt" with a mountain of cheese...as they handed me the pies you could just tell that somethings was a miss when they felt about 20lbs each. All the other prepared food seems to be made by (mostly) careless teenagers who can be seen itching a nose to fixing hair or checking their personal devices (who knows how dirty those handhelds are) and then going back to grabbing ready to eat food barehanded before wrapping it up to go. Townsend Inlet has a new ice cream place,yeah !! No more having to stand in line at Scoops looking at the disgusting ground underneath my feet. Blitz's new ice cream window is fabulous. They can put together anything that Scoops can and more. Their ice cream is great and the service is also great. What a great surprise,good job Kenny. I walked into this store the other day wanting to buy lemonade and they had none, their shelves were not full at all and none of the "kids" who worked there even asked if we needed anything even as they saw us walk around the store several times looking for a product. Perhaps since it is the beginning of the season they are low on inventory however the workers there add zero value to the store. We also tried to order and after waiting several minutes without being acknowledged we just walked out. It is a shame because I do remember ordering a sandwich there last year and liked it. Ordered dinner online and went to pick it up. We did not receive the amount we ordered and had to go back for the rest of our order. The staff in the store was not helpful at all. Then, when we got home the corn we purchased, which was in a packaged container, from Blitz's was completely moldy. The expiration on the package is for 8/27 and we purchased it on 8/14. I decided to go here after I heard it was under new ownership and I couldn't have been happier. I stopped here in the morning over memorial day weekend to get some breakfast sandwiches and they were incredible. Not only were the sandwiches great, I picked up some filet mignon's for my barbecue. The quality of the meats were incredible and everyone was raving at my barbecue. I love the fact that I can stop bringing meats to the shore and start purchasing them when I am there. I will be back to this market every weekend I am at the beach. read more

Don't get sucked into their specials! Ordered pizza that was advertised for a Wednesday deal. The crust is like cardboard, there's hardly any sauce, not to mention it's hardly cooked! They put it through a conveyer belt, it's practically still raw. Had to put it in our oven to make it edible, still wasn't very good. Can't speak for the sandwiches, but don't come to Jersey to get pizza equivalent in taste to a pizza lunchable. Go find yourself a real Jersey pizza place as I should have! read more

The new re brand of the store looks nice...but when something isn't broke you dont need to fix it. I ordered 4 sandwiches & watched the nice lady take the order as stated. But upon returning home we found out that every order came out wrong expect for the plain bagel with cream cheese. Thank god they didnt mess that one up. One thing that's important is getting the orders correct, especially when you live a few blocks away & dont feel like walking all the way back to get the correct items that were paid for. Thank you for ruining my childhood memories of how good blitz's use to be. This establishment is now removed from my list of good places to eat at. I guess if you just need a bottle of water then it's the perfect place. Or is it my fault for not unwrapping all 4 sandwiches to check it they were correct.
