This place is lovely; the have great service, remember you after a visit or two, check in with you constantly to make sure you're satisfied with everything, and just offer a very relaxing environment. I came here and had a reaction to eyebrow wax and they gave it to me for free. A lot of places will still charge even if they do something and it gets messed up (i.e. Taking off acrylics and cutting into your actual nail, which has happened elsewhere for me). I did not have a very good experience. My dip took well over an hour because he kept going over the same nails trying to fix his mistakes. The tools weren't sterile. I just moved out here and not one salon I've been to pulls their tools out of a sterile package. Is that not a thing in fox lake?! My dip is uneven on more than one nail. It looks lumpy. The shapes are uneven. When I asked for them to be cut down so that all of them were the same size, the response was "They're already short". Which came off as rude. I won't be back. read more

5/8/18 Update! They have since fixed my nails and we're very apologetic and helpful. They fixed them for free and made sure I was happy with them every step of the way. Tony is a true artist with his craft. 5/4/18 I am so mad and disappointed. They advertised on their Facebook page that they knew how to do an ombré nail. I don't often have the occasion or the money to get my nails done so I was very specific on what I wanted and was told to wait 20 min for the woman (van) that could do the ombré. I showed her a picture of what it should look like and she agreed she could do it. She had absolutely no clue what to do. She tried over and over but had no clue on how to actually use the powder to make a gradual fade from pink to white. She kept trying to make half the nail pink and half white and insisting she was right and I was wrong. So I compromised and started from scratch and showed her a different picture of nude pink nails with two nails having a graduation of thick glitter from the base to thinner as it goes towards the tip. I ended up with half a nail of super thick polish/glitter and nothing on the other half on ALL OF MY NAILS. When I asked if I could show her with the polish she freaked out and started talking to the person next to her in their language (clearly about me and in an angry and annoyed way). After being there for two hours my nails aren't even close to the shape, size, or look that I wanted. Instead I've got thick, pointy, bumpy nails that are just awful!! Not to mention I've been picking the extra acrylic/superglue out from under my nails for over an hour and it's still coated and uncomfortable. I'm so upset over the whole thing. Her attitude and forcefulness to do what she wanted instead of what I wanted off putting and intimidating. I was uncomfortable the whole time. I left there shaking I was so mad. read more

I made an appointment to have an acrylic fill. I arrived early and was taken almost 30 minutes late! No explanation except placing blame on the receptionist. The receptionist said it was a mix-up in scheduling for pedicures. Overall the my nails were done great but with this mix-up and explanation, I can't give them 5 stars. I will be back.. I could write a long detailed review about first experience here at Blizz Nails BUT I'll keep it short and to the point. I've gotten my nails done a lot in my life and the complete carelessness that went into my dip manicure and pedicure is unbelievable. You could tell Xuan did NOT want to be there and especially did NOT want to be doing my nails. What a waste of almost $100. I had very high hopes for this place and am very disappointed. I've been to a lot of nail salons, and let just just say this place by far has the BEST customer service! Better than any other nail salon that I've ever been to. They are very clean, friendly, attentive to your needs, and they make you feel very comfortable. It's also a super relaxing environment. I came here for an eyebrow wax and I am so disappointed in the results. Part of my eyebrow was waxed off, when she was just supposed to 'clean them up'. They are NOT even close to looking alike anymore. Also, the room for waxing was dirty, I didn't want to lay down on the bed. Super disappointed, used to love this place. read more

I've had a a woman named Van a few times. Today was the topper. Historically she applies nail polish so thick that it chips off within a day or two. And, she is always a little rude but, today she was very rude. There are other nail techs at this location that are decent and I would consider going back for them but if my only option was her, I would take my business elsewhere. read more

First time there, I went to get a fill. I was quickly passed on to Tony when two regulars came in. He put a super thin layer of acrylic and when he sanded them it looked like he sanded to far down. He was rough and when I voiced a concern about my nails, he said I was wrong, said the nail polish will cover it and kept going. I am home now and I can clearly see on two of my nails when he sanded to far down and you can see my nail underneath. So DISAPPOINTED and NEVER going there again! read more

I really contemplated writing a review I went in on 2/14 around 5:30 was taken in pretty quickly by Danny he did my acrylic pretty quickly and was done by 6:30 but my nails weren't shaped correctly, I got a coffin shape and they looked a mess. I also asked for marble and he did thin black lines looking like a spider web and not marble. He left acrylic powder stuck under the clear gel. Tony fixed my marble which now looks some what better than Danny's but still not really what I wanted. Once I got in my car and got a better look and I couldn't help but hate how they looked and disappointed in having spent more than $60 on them and driving from Gurnee which is a 30 minute drive. I went back in and Tony reshaped my nails and filed them down and fixed the acrylic powder stuck under the clear gel. Really happy with Tony and taking the extra time to fix my nails. Didn't end up leaving till 7:10 which was annoying because if it was done correctly I could've been out of there earlier. Thank you Tony for fixing my nails you really saved them! read more

I've gone here a few times and I always goto Tina. However the last two times she has surprised me with a total after all said and done, and ready to pay. Yesterday, I asked her for the cat eye effect and an acrylic fill. Before she started my nails she stated the cat eye effect is an additional $8.00. I said okay that's fine. A typical fill is somewhere between $15-$18, that being said my total should have been nothing more than $26.00. When I went to pay she said $43.00. And I asked her 'how much,' while she took a second to respond and said $43.00. I asked her why $43.00 when it's supposed to be $8.00 more..... and her response was because the gel. This has happened to me before with her; giving me a final total that is different than what she said before. I will not return here again. It's unprofessional to give two different pricings, especially when it's coming from the same mouth. read more

I have been there 2 times, the first time I was impressed! I LOVED my nails. The 2nd time I went in for a fill in and I realized a few of my nails were somewhat crooked, Nancy rushed through it and didn't really fixed my nails, because they apparently​ looked good to her... Oh and worst of all, there was an ANT in our table and she killed it with one of the brushes she uses! Her material looked dirty this time. Pretty upset with this nail salon after hearing so many great things. First off, the guy who was doing my nails was SO rough with me. He kept filing the side of my nail to make them appear thinner and I told him it hurt, didn't listen and kept going therefore he filed my skin completely raw. It was bleeding and hurt so bad for a week and now I have an infection because of it. Secondly, he asked about three times if I wanted any jewels and I kindly told him no each time. He finally said "let me do something for you" so I said yes thinking he wouldn't charge me extra since he KEPT asking and he ended up charging me $10 more for something I didn't even want! This place just seems money hungry and the techs need to listen to their client when they tell them what they are doing hurts. read more

Friendly people and really clean! Got my nails done for prom and they did excellent on my friends nails. I was a little upset with mine though. I got a simple coffin white acrylic nail. The lady that did mine didn't even line up my fingers to make sure they were even, and she made some of them crooked. I was not impressed. first off, i'm never one to write bad reviews but this was just ridiculous. i tried finding a new nail salon, and i've heard tons of good things about this place. definitely didn't have the same experience as everyone else i know that's been going there. the guy that did my nails was extremely rude and was SQUEEZING my fingers. he was not gentle in the slightest bit. doesn't help that all but ONE of my fingernails are crooked, there's basically a clump of nail polish on two of my nails, and they're a lot shorter than i told him i wanted. i would've asked for him to fix them all but i was quite tired of the attitude already to deal with him any longer. also, the selection of no chip polishes that i was shown was the smallest and worst i've ever seen. read more

My mom and I were there in about 2 weeks ago today, and we loved it! The have is bottle water, a variety of no chip colors! Both our nail techs did great! Wrote there names and the color we did on their cards. Just in case we want the same one or invade our nails chip before the two weeks. Told us they would fix it for free. Awesome service.
