Few times in my life have I ever been made to feel so special at a place of business. We went to Blo as a group of 7 as part of a bachelorette cerebration and from start to finish, everything was phenomenal. Every single member of the staff was so friendly. Jeremy and his wife Elaine (the owners) were so sweet, and they personally checked in with each of us during our time there and Jeremy even voluntarily served us drinks the entire time! Cydney did my hair . . . I am convinced she has magical powers haha. I have EXTREMELY long (longest layer is at my hips) and thick middle eastern hair that most stylists have a hard time with and not only was this the prettiest my hair has ever looked, but she even finished doing my hair before a couple of the other girls were finished! And I was almost the last one to get started! And aside from her talent as a stylist, I really felt like I left the salon with a new friend--she is absolutely wonderful. There's something to be said about SEVEN WOMEN walking into a salon and all seven leaving in love with their hair, raving about how much they loved chatting with the woman who styled it, and hanging out to chat with the staff before leaving because everyone was just that lovely!! I can't remember the last time I was this blown away (that pun was accidental ). If we lived in the area, I'd be there all the time!! THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!! My experience began very well after calling for an appointment. Elaine was incredibly accommodating and called me back when she found a time that would work for me. When I arrived everyone was very nice and helpful, offering refreshments once I checked in. My concerns arose when I sat to wait (I was about 10 minutes early) and noticed a text message that arrived 20 minutes before my appointment asking if I could push it back almost 2 hours, which was impossible as I had a wedding to attend. Upon showing this to the front desk, I was told to ignore it and I would be out in time to attend the wedding. I was scheduled for lash application and blow out. It was suggested that I do lashes first as the stylists were still busy at the time of my appointment. The staff was consistently friendly and complimentary. I had some concerns about the lash application due to their placement and lack of contour around my lash line. My limited experience with lashes has involved bending the lashes to provided a curve to the lash line. I was told they were perfect and decided to go along with it. My blow out did not begin until 2:45 and I was out the door by 3:20. Despite feeling rushed I was happy with the blow out. When I returned home to touch up my makeup with a magnified mirror I could not believe how bad my lashes looked. There was a substantial gap between my lashes and the false ones, to the point I could not get them to blend together. I had to take the off and throw away the money and tip for their application. I was very disappointed and wish I had been more vocal in the salon. Worth it for the blow out and they will get you in and out when you need to be, but you will be a little on edge if you are pressed for time. read more

I came here last weekend to get my hair styled. First time at a blow dry bar. This is a wash and style salon. No haircuts or color. Great place to come if you have a special event and want your hair done by a professional stylist. Highly recommend making a appointment ahead of time. They do accept walks in but this is a busy place. At least the Saturday I came. Friendly staff. Very clean. Nice setup. Your hair will be washed and then you can pick one of seven different styles for your hair from a book that has a description of the style. They can do it all. They also have some nice styling products for purchase. I left really disappointed though. Did not love my hair and I feel as I should have. The base pay is $40 dollars and with a tip almost 50. I think I picked the wrong style for my hair type. I observed all the other ladies leaving the salon and their hair looked great. I will say the stylist that did my hair did a good job and knew I was not pleased and did her best to try and make my style look how I wanted it to. But I came home and spent too much time re- doing my hair. I will come back, but will try another type of style. The price is comparable to most other salons. read more

Blo was great! Very convenient online booking. Booked Friday for an appointment next day and they had no problem accommodating myself and my mother-in-law. My hair stylist was very nice and did a great job with my hair! I would definitely recommend and plan on trying a few of their other styles in the future! read more

Too bad there are no other blow dry salons in Mount Pleasant. I would recommend driving the distance to go downtown as my experience here was horrific. Employees are not educated on different hair types. I would give this salon a half star if I could. The chain itself I have been to and liked, not sure what went wrong with this one!! read more

Great place, really beautiful space. It's modern with gray and pink colored theme. The staff was friendly and welcoming and did a great job with the blow out for my friend and me. I went to Blo for the first time last week. I loved the atmosphere as soon as I walked thru the door. The staff was friendly and as a walk-in, I was quickly escorted to meet my stylist. We sat for a few minutes and discussed what I wanted and I chose from the menu. The shampoo and condition was great and my stylist used various products on my hair to make sure I had a flawless look. In the end, I walked out loving my look. I chose a clean wave look because I wanted something different from my normal straight look. The only thing was that my hair didn't hold the wave for long after I left. I had my hair done around 2pm and by dinner with friends at 6:30, the big waves were almost gone :-( I still loved the experience and will definitely go back! I gave away the 3 referral cards to my friends and am hoping they follow my recommendation and go check it out. In addition, my daughter is getting married in March so this will probably be a good solution for her and the bridal party to get their hair done! read more

My stylist paid attention to my needs/wants while also guiding me with what would work best with the weather conditions. I am not one to normally write Yelp reviews, but I felt compelled to write one after my visit this past weekend. I was in town for a wedding and scheduled an appt for both myself and a friend a couple weeks in advance. Upon our arrival, we were pleasantly greeted even though we were actually late for our appts and running behind schedule. We called ahead of time to let them know and they just went ahead and put us for a later time with no problem at all. My friend and I were then greeted by our 2 stylists who were absolutely wonderful! I believe their names were Lindsay and Blaine. I highly recommend both of them. Blaine was with my friend and she was great and very detailed while doing my friends hair to be sure it wasn't going to move. Lindsay was my stylist and she was awesome! I ended up adding a makeup session with her since she had the time available and was so pleased with the outcome. I warned her ahead of time I don't wear makeup on a regular basis and she gave me a nice glowy look that was still like I wasn't wearing any. I will definitely go back to this location next time I am in town. read more

I had an appointment Saturday morning and walked in 9 minutes late. I was then told if you are more than 10 minutes late, we will be "subjected to a dry hair blow dry". I understand if you are late, there will changes. However, the way the woman at the front desk handled this situation was beyond terrible. She did not attempt to make us feel welcome or ensure that our hair would still look great with a dry blow out (which it would NOT, blow drying dirty hair is a complete waste of money, but that is besides the point). We stood there in silence trying to figure out what to do as the woman just stared down at us. We felt so uncomfortable that we decided to leave. Again, I understand rules are rules, but that is not my issue. My issue is the way the woman handled it. I have never had worse treatment or been so dismissed at an establishment that is meant to be enjoyable. To top it off, it was my sister's birthday (who traveled from NYC) and she walked out in tears because of this experience. Luckily, we called a local salon and they were able to fit us in (with no attitude) and has wonderful customer service. The only positive thing was I made sure to call and double check my card was not charged and it wasn't. What could have been easily solved with a smile or imagine if they took a step above (after we apologized for being 9 min late) and washed our hair in 2 min and then continued with the blow dry, we would have tipped generously and this review would have been a positive one. read more
