Kenneth messaged me quickly and was very up front about what he could offer and for what price. Rooted is in the Folsom hills and right in the downtown area along Lake Natoma and the American River. Every time I venture out Folsom way there is something new to see, but this little area still has the same "feel" as when I was a kid - Cute, Quaint, Small-Town. Since they have only been in this location a few months they don't have signage up yet but you can't miss it, it's a darling little cottage with a red stone brick path leading to inviting walk up and entry. I felt comfortable right away. Kenneth was up front ringing out another client but made sure to greet me as soon as I entered, which says a lot in my book. He showed me to his room, which was super cozy; the salon chair was comfy; LOVED the wash station, Kenneth was awesome; very personable, we chatted it up while he washed, did a deep conditioning treatment, (can I get that hair drier to go pls?) lol, Brazilian blow out and some touch up with the flat iron so I could get home to flat iron the rest (I do that myself). Even without the flat iron it looked fantastic! My hair felt super clean and well hydrated, not dried out at ALL. When I got home to finish the flat iron it was nice n soft n felt fabulous. Loved it! I had never had that detailed of a consultation, and I was so grateful for it after having a negative hair experience the previous year. The moment I sat in her chair in her beautifully designed boutique studio I knew my hair was in excellent hands. Cierra has never made me feel bad for intermittently "box dying" my hair over the years trying to get my ideal auburn (unlike other stylists have!) Instead she developed a plan to treat and heal my hair. From the perfect cut and trim each time to capturing the most amazing natural looking auburn color that I had in my 20's I am stunned each time I leave at how beautiful my hair looks! I now regularly receive compliments from strangers about my hair and my coworkers are shocked when I tell them it's colored because Cierra makes my hair color look so natural. My hair is finally growing long and it's visibly strong and healthy. I credit Cierra for that, with her coloring techniques and high quality products and recommendations my hair is transformed. She even filmed a video clip for my reference of her blowdrying technique on my hair when I told her I was challenged with styling my bangs...I've never had a stylist do that! I used to have long hair that covered 2/3 of my back and I would go to this place to trim the ends and keep the same style. The price is reasonable, usually I pay $55-$65 depending on how much time the stylist spent on me. My hair stylist is late for my appointments a few times but i didn't mind because the price seems reasonable and the place is clean and bright. However, my latest hair cut was more like a 1 star since I really wanted a makeover and did not want my hair to be long anymore. I don't want to mention my stylist's name here since i don't want to ruin her client based. The hair stylist was late for 20 minutes and i was her the last appointment before her lunch break. She simply chopped my hair across a straight line like what a child would do to cut the hair. Then she just did a few blunt cut technique trim on the bottom and used a razor to chop the interior to make my bob less puffy. I told her the bottom was still too thick then She used the razor to chop a few times like she was trimming grass on the inside layer of my hair. She only spent about 30 minutes on my hair cut (including shampoo and blow dry) since it was close to the lunch break. My inside layers looked completely damaged with a few "holes". I had a few bad hair cuts in the past, but this one was hard to swallow. It's probably one of the worst hair cut had my entire life. I'm scared to go back to the same hair stylist to fix my hair since I don't have much hair left to be fix. I will have to go somewhere else to fix my entire hair cut again to make it straight across at bare minimum so I don't look like a joke. Overall, I would still return to this hair salon just to get a hair trim to cut out the dry ends if I have long hair. But I would not come to this place if you desire to have a short hair cut.

The last couple of times from other stylists my ends have looked choppy, and I have to curl it inward to hide it. I communicated my concern to Christy, who asked me lots of questions, took her time, and even gave me some advice on some hair products I was using. The most memorable moment was when she asked me to stand up from my chair toward the end so that she could check her work to make sure that my ends were even. I've never had that kind of attention toward what I feel is a pretty basic, boring haircut (which is exactly what I wanted). I will definitely be going back to Christy when I need a haircut next!
