When trying to advocate for my 90yo mom and ask questions about her care the provider would tell me she doesn't have time to talk to me. Further attempts to advocate and get answers eventually led them to fire my mom as a patient. Caring for your elderly loved one is not part of their agenda. read more

NP shows up when she says she's going to. My mother is in severe cognitive decline and it's not being addressed. The NP actually said there wasn't evidence of cognitive decline after their first meeting where my mother only remembered one surgery, forgetting a mastectomy and having hardware put into a broken arm. We get vitals and prescriptions and that's it. We are not supported in her dementia journey at all. By this point we should have a diagnosis as to her type of dementia and possibly resources to help manage it. None of that has been made available to us. Her blood pressure is good though. read more

I receive unprofessional and inadequate medical care from Bloom Healthcare. Over multiple interactions, your staff have demonstrated a pattern of rudeness and dismissiveness, and have withheld medical treatment by refusing to order essential laboratory tests that were requested by my PCP. In addition, they have insisted that I must use Bloom's in-house EMT lab service, which imposes an unnecessary $40 lab fee -- despite the fact that Medicare Part B already covers these services. When I requested my lab work be sent to another mobile lab provider that does not charge additional fees, Bloom staff (Teresa, RN) refused, effectively forcing to use their own service. This behavior appears to be a conflict of interest and an unethical billing practice, as it results in patients being double-billed ---once through Medicare and again through your $40 fee (out of pocket for patients). It is deeply concerning that Bloom Healthcare staff are acting as gatekeepers to care, restricting patient choice, and prioritizing profit over patient well-being. This kind of conduct violates both the ethical standards of medical care and the trust patients place in their providers. read more

They sign you up for "services" that you didn't want, let alone were not told about. They bill you for things that you did not request or authorize. You can never reach the actual nurse practitioner, only the rude office staff that ALWAYS and ONLY speak on speakerphone. The office staff never return phone calls. Liz, I have contacted Bloom dozens of times by phone, text and email. No reason to believe that trying one more time will produce any different results. It sounds like you didn't read my post. I explained very clearly how my friend communicated his desires. Bloom themselves created the Medical Power of Attorney and passed out hard copies at the meeting I described - to seven other providers. The Medical side of Bloom continually says it cannot communicate with the Hospice side of Bloom because their computer systems are different and don't communicate. Not one Bloom employee bothered to picked up a phone to communicate across departments until I asked. Telling me how I feel is rude and unprofessional. It comes across as condescending. Having someone respond with platitudes and CYA corporate speak to me and so many other posts only validates our shared experiences and opinions. Too little too late. Dissatisfaction ends up in a public forum when the mistakes are made in the private conversations (or avoidance thereof). I think the expression is the horse is already out of the barn. read more

My mom was found 24 hours after she died standing up between her bed and side table.her walker was in a room too far for her to get to. And no TV was hooked up.i arrived and some very expensive items were packed away . No water or anything within reach .nothing at all.i reviewed her medications .what a mess .medicine for bipolar.she had anxiety and agoraphobia. Maoi inhibitor and 3 mg Xanax per day .I found lasix I diuretic , dehydrating and hard on the heart with bupropruon! I'd say they basically neglected her to her death .I'm her daughter , I couldn't believe the over 1000.00 on a food stamp card .?? Outdated food by a year or more. And charges on her social security for park and pick liquors .the whole thing is under investigation.do not use this lying poor excuse for nothing place for even your worst enemy please.itd be a negative 1 × (star)*. read more

Bloom offered in home care for my dad. That service was really appreciated since dad had mobility issues. Our first care giver was not a good match for dad, but the next providers were fine. While we appreciated the in-home service, the inability of Bloom to give an estimated time of arrival was very frustrating. It meant keeping dad ready for an appointment most of the day. Adding to that frustration reaching his providers staff was often slow, returned calls were difficult with rotating providers. All of that being said, after 5 years of care dad passed away. I am most disappointed that no one from Bloom called me after his passing to offer their support. Seems like we had a relationship not just a Medicare vendor number. While that's my emotional reaction, if you need in-home care for elderly patients, Bloom is a good idea. read more

My elderly mother entered into hospice with bloom never could get help when we needed it always late. My mother passed away in August and we never heard another word from them. My father received home visits from Bloom Health Care nurses during the last 2 years of his life. It was a relief to have a nurse come to his home and really seem to care about his medical condition. He received much more attention and care than he would have received in a 5 minute rushed appointment in a medical office from a busy doctor who never had time to review his records. For this, we are grateful. Also, in the last 2 months of his life, he received hospice care from Bloom Hospice. All hospice workers are angels. Our family gives a special thank you to Betsy and Hope, who are amazing caregivers and nurses. The communication, the medication, the support along the way for Dad, and the sensitive, loving care was precious to us. Highly recommended. Thank you! read more

My 97-year-old father went into hospice in the fall of 2024. He was able to stay in his assisted living facility and a wonderful Bloom nurse came to check on him twice a week. This was my first experience with hospice care, and I have to say it was such a relief to have help - and to have such caring individuals looking after my dad. It was a comfort to all of the family that he didn't have to go to the hospital any longer. His main nurse, Sarah, came in twice a week to check on him - and managed all his medications as well. After every visit she would text or call me to let me know how he was doing. Once a month a more senior RN came to do a comprehensive visit, and again she'd call me after to give a detailed report. The hospice nurses worked with the staff at the assisted living facility to manage his medications and care, which made my life much easier. As my father neared the end of his life, Sarah came to see him every day. She always kept me in the loop about how he was doing, and was able to recommend some additional medications in his last few days to make sure he wasn't in pain and to help with his agitation. He died peacefully in his sleep a few days later, and hospice was also able to help facilitate the morturary to come pick him up. Sarah called me later that day just to see how I was doing, and to let me know that she'd seen him and that he had passed peacefully. This was such a kind gesture! I can't say enough how how wonderful the Bloom people were with my parents. Highly recommend! read more

Terrible healthcare. They try to put your loved ones in Hospice as fast as they can. The nurse provider for my mom. (Audrey Helt) diagnosed her with dementia instead of a UTI. She also said my Mom only had a couple months to live. My Mom ended up in the hospital for over a week with a raging UTI- dehydration and other avoidable issues! IMO This lady couldn't diagnose a paper cut if presented with it. Find any other option! They will make excuse after excuse why they can't provide appropriate care. My Mom is now with a VERY COMPETENT clinic now and will be turning 89 in two weeks. She is with Preferred Provider Services (Daniella Souza) and I HIGHLY recommend. read more

My understanding was that the definition of hospice was to provide comfort, care, and dignity in a person's final days of life and to help the family of the ailing person navigate what is about to happen and provide guidance during this difficult time. We received none of that. There is clearly more of a backstory with many details I don't want to put out there on the internet. My grandpa had spent his last year living in a Senior Living Facility and was provided suboptimal care. He only had Bloom Hospice for the last 3 months of his life, but we really didn't need their support until the last 24 hours and they provided no help. My grandfather laid on his deathbed, waiting for anti anxiety medicine and morphine to be delivered. We ordered them around 12 pm (when I realized he was in his final hours) and they didn't arrived until 10 pm that night. He passed away at 8 am the following morning. There was no urgency to provide him the medications he needed to make his final hours comfortable. Looking back, I see that the signs were very clear that my grandpa was on his final hours / days of life. Why none of the staff from Bloom, who is far more experienced than I, ever told us that the signs pointed to his very imminent death, I am unsure. I'm very angry that it took me doing Google searches to realize that the severity of my grandpas's symptoms so we could gather my family around him. Had I not done this, my grandpa would have died alone, and in pain, because none of your expert staff informed us that it was very obvious that he was displaying symptoms that were indicative of a person very near to death. We sat there (waiting over 10 hours to get his anti anxiety medications and morphine) not knowing what to do. We did our best to comfort my grandpa as he was thirsty and we were trying to get him something to drink. We asked for sponges, but he bit through them so hard because (we now realize!) he was in pain. We eventually resorted to soaking a washcloth in water for him to suck on because there was no medically trained staff there to help us. All day he had his arms up to his chest and his legs curled up, and had a furrowed brow. WHERE WAS THE HOSPICE STAFF TO HELP US NAVIGATE AND MAKE MY GRANDPA COMFORTABLE?! That evening we called one of my grandpa's former caregivers because we realized he was approaching death, so she could come say goodbye. Immediately upon arriving she could tell he was in pain and she said to me, "They should have given him morphine hours ago, they failed. I can see he is in pain by his furrowed brow and his body language". This only confirmed the poor reviews we read online. I so regret using Bloom Hospice. Bloom Hospice was, and is, an extreme disappointment and your staff showed no care or concern about my dying grandfather, or my family. I don't know why it took 10 hours to get him his medicine? I don't know why a nurse wasn't there to monitor him and make him comfortable in his final hours? I don't know why my grandpa's nurse didn't inform my family that he was dying and only had hours / days left to live, when after doing my own research, it was pretty obvious. Where was hospice to help guide us through this so we could do our part to help make sure my grandpa was comfortable? We didn't even know if he wanted to be touched or not. We didn't know how to give him water, or how to comfort him when he was anxious and tried to get out of bed. Bloom abandoned my grandpa, and our family, in our time of most need. It's disgusting. It has been almost three months since my grandpa passed and all I can think about his how much regret I have that he spent his last day of life in so much pain and that we chose a hospice company that cared so little about him. If he had been in a hospital, I believe he would have had more care, attention, and medicine he needed and deserved. I also believe we would have had more guidance and information to help us navigate those last few hours. I would never recommend Bloom Hospice to anyone because, from my experience, they don't care about your family or your dying loved one. In every way, Bloom Hospice failed our family, and abandoned my dying grandpa. read more

Bloom Healthcare failed to provide the necessary healthcare they promised to deliver for my mother. My 94 year old Mother contacted the Bloom Healthcare provider assigned to her assisted living facility about a persistent cough. He examined her and did nothing. A week later she was admitted to the hospital with pneumonia and sepsis. The night before she was admitted, the facility staff said my Mother was not doing well. I contacted Bloom Healthcare and asked them to check on my Mother first thing in the morning. They assured me they would. They called me in the afternoon the following day AFTER she had been admitted to the hospital and asked me how she was doing. I told them she was in the hospital with pneumonia. They never followed up during the hospital stay nor did they follow up with the hospital's release instructions. TOTAL FAILURE. read more

My physician brother and I just moved our 90 yr old mom's records after several bouts of 30-60 minutes on hold with Bloom's office. Bloom has no patient portal, so family caregivers have to call in during working hours and relay non-emergent messages through a coordinator. A staff member apologized and told us the Bloom patient volume grew suddenly and they were unable to keep up with calls (up to 3,000 in one day). For the fist months of several years with Bloom, we loved that my mom could be seen in her CCC. Downside; Bloom "doesn't do appointments," so my mom would wait and wait, skipping naps and lunch so as not to inconvenience her NP in case she came. Because we didn't know when the NP was coming, I missed a lot of the visits at a time in mom's life when she retains maybe 40% of information she's given verbally . I requested several times that my psychiatrist brother receive email or text updates and copies of the cognitive function benchmark tests. He never got anything. The Behavioral Health therapist was the same--no appointments, so mom waited and waited for her to come on the dates she was going to be at the CCC. No call, no communication when therapist no-showed. No updates to the psychiatrist son/medical POA. I was on the administrative side of healthcare for 35 years. The Bloom clinicians are qualified and competent, but as of January 2025, they just aren't supported by up-to-date communication technology. This practice might still be a good fit for active seniors managing their own healthcare, but it didn't work well for family caregivers of a 90 yr old. read more

This is part of the service we were offered for her and one of the reasons why we went with Bloom.
