From the moment I connected with Silver Lining Hospice, that apprehension began to fade. I felt supported and understood during one of the most difficult seasons of my life. My point of contact, Josh, was consistently professional, proactive, courteous, and helpful -- guiding me through each step with compassion and clarity. Ashley, the Head RN, demonstrated not only exceptional medical knowledge but also genuine warmth and empathy. She didn't just supervise the team -- she was right there alongside the CNAs, delivering hands-on care with the same dedication and heart. She always listened and answered every question with patience, offered support, prepared me for the changes ahead, and -- most importantly -- treated Vera with the utmost dignity and respect she deserved. The CNAs were equally remarkable -- caring, attentive, and loving in every interaction. They, as with Ashley, were always punctual and lit up the room with their positive, loving energy, which on many occasions prompted Vera to share a long-hidden smile of happiness and sometimes even an enthusiastic "hi!" They perform a much-needed but often thankless job, yet they do it with constant love, care, and concern. Over the course of seven months, with multiple visits each week, supportive friendships developed -- not only with me, but also with my Doberman, Cheyenne, who was coping with her own sadness and fear from Vera's illness. These bonds of friendship became deeply appreciated and even more valued upon Vera's passing. Silver Lining Hospice truly lived up to its name, becoming a source of light during a time of deep sadness. I will always be grateful for their dedication, compassion, and the peace they brought to our home. -- Johnny Burchett

Greetings Silver Linings Michelle Christensen, RN Business Owner!…read moreWell...There was no "Silver Linings" for me! This is my experience & opinions with this Hospice Care... I read Michelle's heart felt "masterpiece". "From the Business"...Words like "compassion", "going the extra mile", "informed", "educated" & "make sure we are always performing at our upmost best"! I find this "magnificence" hard to believe! That's because I requested home care from this company via e-mail. Michelle responded & asked me some personal questions. I answered her. That was six days ago! Michelle presents herself as an influential positive role model evidenced w/her compassion, how she went the extra mile & performed @ her upmost best!...NOT!!!...SHE GHOSTED ME!!!...I guess this is how she operates her company. (?) I've been a business owner myself. Ghosting was not something I even thought about doing to my clients. Shame on you Michelle! I'm very disappointed in you & your company...

We had one caregiver for a month who moved away suddenly, and that transition was handled smoothly by Rachel and her team. We ended up working with the agency from late August 2020 through mid-March 2021, and our caregiver Linda became a member of our family. I could not recommend this agency highly enough. Throughout any billing, long term care insurance, scheduling, or other logistical challenge they handled all the difficult parts. Our caregiver Linda always followed covid protocols and was a friendly and engaging presence. Linda worked with both of my parents when they lived with us and did an amazing job juggling a complex set of care needs and personalities. I could not have been happier working with EFHC and Linda. Without this team's effort my husband and I would not have been able to continue in our jobs and handle other priorities in caregiving and our own personal lives.

Speaking from an employees perspective:…read more I have been on with the team for about 8 months now. I've worked in the field for 8 years ( so as you can imagine, I've had training and experience in several facilities) This place was absolutely draining, on all levels. The façade of a beautiful building, and well lit gardens, and exceptional " Care provided to the residents" is absolute delusion. I have watched our team, my residents whom I provide care to, and my own well being turn completely downhill, which is why I feel the need to speak on this. Management and HR are not friendly, or welcoming or empathetic towards care staff at all, instead they are rude and entitled and walk the building with nothing but a higher demeanor, than those who actually provide care to these residents and work extremely hard on the floor providing care, and respect and constant interaction to these residents. I have not had a single, welcoming or open minded- conversation with any management since our previous HR has left the building. I have instead ran into conversations where those who do their jobs, and do an amazing job at it, are consistently belittled by HR and management. Yet, those who are lazy but favorited by management are constantly allowed passes for behaviors and LACK of care to these residents. The job itself is stressful, yes. But we all get into this field even as Caregivers to do our jobs and do the best we can. We also have lives outside of work environments, and some harder than others. This is where survival mode and flight of fight play a role- but to those that show up everyday and WORK THE FLOOR- we are discarded and picked apart -daily, but also while being extremely understaffed and drained ourselves. Yet still- NO support from our HR or ED or management as a whole. I have never felt so out of touch with a work environment claiming to do so much good for these residents- meanwhile disregarding and completely out of touch with their employees whom actually work with these residents and are the ones providing care. Pay compensation and expectations are not lined up at all. all this goes to say- Please DO BETTER, for our residents, for your care staff. for OURSELVES. No job should be or feel this draining on every level.

Fall for a pretty facade and this is what you will get! I won't deny that this is one of the most…read morebeautiful facilities in town but, scratch the surface and this is what you will REALLY find: * Repeated reviews about understaffing during the night * Repeated reviews complaining about overworked night aides * Repeated reviews where family members are suspicious of, or flat out accuse staff members of creating positive reviews (this explains why so many reviews go from 5 stars down to one star) How do I know about their problems? First, I am a nurse educator with a master's degree in nursing. Second, I reviewed Colorado's State Licensure discipline made against Gardens on Quail. LICENSURE DISCIPLINE: On 3/19/23, Gardens on Quail's license was disciplined for what the state of Colorado labeled "Physical Abuse". An older woman was found tied to her wheelchair which is against the law. Allow me to explain WHY these sort of events happen: when a facility is understaffed and aides are overworked, they were simply trying to keep their patient safe. FAILURE TO MAINTAIN POWER BACK-UP Other problems: a few weeks ago the facility had a power outage and their emergency power generator did not work. When the heaters stopped working, my dad got cold, so he pressed his call light. It was not working either! While trying to seek help, he went into the dark and uninhabited hallway, fell, and laid there for an undisclosed period of time. IT IS A STATE REQUIREMENT THAT MEDICAL FACILITIES MAINTAIN BACK-UP POWER. I asked three staff members if my dad had his walker or wheelchair with him when he was lying on the floor in the dark hallway and no one seemed to know any details, nor did they get back to me. INSUFFICIENTLY TRAINED NURSE AIDES (called QMAPS) If your loved one resides here, PLEASE, TAKE IT UPON YOURSELF TO CLOSELY SUPERVISE MEDICATION ADMINISTRATION because it is being performed by nurse aides who underwent a short med training program. My dad kept getting repeat eye infections. He then revealed the aide was violating infection control practices by touching the eye dropper to his eye. The nurse aide also did not know how to properly administer eye drops because they mixed two different types of drops, instead of waiting between the different prescriptions. This could potentially make eye drops ineffective.
