Disappointed. Hygiene Neglect & Medical Mismanagement…read more We are disappointed in the treatment that our 85-year-old mother received at Pam Heath Rehabilitation Hospital. She is a vulnerable patient with a complex TBI, mobility issues, and incontinence. We trusted this facility to rehabilitate her; instead, they neglected her basic human needs. * Hygiene Neglect: Our mother remained in the same soiled top clothing for an entire weekend. Despite being incontinent, she was also not bathed by staff. The only shower she received during her stay was given by our own private family aide who had to step in during a visit. Unsurprisingly, she was discharged with a UTI. * Medical Oversight: They placed her on 24/7 oxygen and new medications without consulting her family doctor or us. They completely ignored her medical history and her actual respiratory needs. * Therapy Concerns: There is a lot of "fuzzy math" regarding the required 15 hours of therapy. Therapists consistently showed up late and brought her back early, yet these sessions are billed as full hours. It felt less like rehabilitation and more like a money grab. * Lack of Communication: Staff were unable to answer basic questions about her care or progress. Advice to families: If you live out of town or work full-time, stay away. Unless you can sit in the room 24/7 to "babysit" the facility and ensure basic hygiene and a therapy plan is met, your loved one is at risk. We deeply regret sending her here and hope this prevents another family from going through this type of mess.

After hip replacement surgery, I was an inpatient here for two weeks (March 7-21, 2024)--I did not…read morego anywhere else during this time. They rightly earn at least one star due to excellent PT and OT plus Bella (OT) and Bea (aide), bright lights who made my time there bearable. Wheatridge Manor missed a chance for a higher rating because they almost killed me with a wrong assessment and then a 10-hour delay of needed treatment on March 21. I had contracted strep A sepsis there (and went into kidney failure), necessitating ambulance transport from Wheatridge Manor to Lutheran Hospital ER where they fought for hours to save my life. Source of infection: untreated bug bites (about 3-19 at Wheatridge Manor) which became infected and then developed into a bad case of cellulitis. Additional details: from the time (around 4am) of my first physical symptoms on the morning of March 21 (pain, uncontrollable shaking, vomiting; a few hours later, expressive aphasia--inability to process language), the night nurse Pam and day nurse Jennifer wrongly assessed me as experiencing a panic attack due to "anxiety" about going home. Pam also chewed me out for taking time away from other patients who "really" needed her care (my friend witnessed that unpleasant exchange). I was in and out of awareness for the rest of that day. This terrified me (my symptoms as well as being ignored and dismissed by the nursing staff) as I knew something was very, very wrong. Needing support and a witness, I called my friend (retired nurse). She arrived at the facility around 5am and stayed with me all day. Finally, around 2pm, I asked her to phone my high school BFF in Houston who's a doctor. Dr friend had two words for us: "Ambulance now!" Wheatridge's day nurse, Jennifer, only made the phone call due to pressure from my witness. These two dear friends, along with Lutheran's ER and other medical personnel, saved my life. Accordingly, I do not recommend Wheatridge Manor for anyone. Yes, the PT and OT are great, but the rest of the facility lacks adequate, coordinated care. However, if that place seems the best placement for your loved one, be sure to check on them frequently and to advocate for their needs or they may either almost die like me, or actually die, from inadequate care.

I walked in his room and a very sweet lady was holding his hand(s) and talking to kindly to him. I witnessed this while he was there. He enjoyed that! Soon I met the whole team. My first time there was so amazing, I told the doctor that if I every need to be in hospice away from home - I want to come there ! All the nurses/whole care team were kind and very experienced. My husband even had a mountain view! Daily they kept me up to date on everything, with loving compassion. He had a death doula a day or two before he passed. His last night on earth, he had the most beautiful woman (inside and out) who did a calming, relaxing Comfort Touch session. He was able to let go a few hours later. I was there in the room. It comforted me to ring the Himalayan salt bell or chime, as his body was wheeled out. I can't thank Tru Hospice enough for their kind, expert and compassionate care. Nancy Dutton 2. Early 2026 I started attending the Widows, Loss of Spouse Group at True Hospice in Lafayette. This became a haven for me, still is, being with other people who lost their spouse. We all understand what each other is going through. I will continue attending for a long time. The facilitators are so kind, gently guiding us as a group. I don't want to miss a group, it's so important to my well being. A big sigh for the help and relief I have received! Two other friends have attended this group. 3. Beaded Memories Class - A Life Changer for me was my First Beaded Memories Class in Februrary 2026. I was kind of lost or unsure of my future. Facilitataors compassionate and very helpful in creative activities. Other people and I arrived tired, sad - by the end of making our photo boxes with beads and pictures to store our memories, we were all smiling and happy ! We didn't want to leave the room. I discovered this class sparked and restored a part of me that was missing during the years of caregiving. It was so good to get back that creative, joyful part of me. I felt and still feel great hope and more direction in my future. Another friend now attends this class every time she can. I have attended 4 classes, each with a different craft to honor my loved one. Thank you for making this a year-round class of hope and joy. 4. Sound Healing class - I have attended and gained peace around the loss of my husband since starting these classes once a month in 2026. The teacher is so loving - love emanates from every cell of her body. She offers a wide range of sounds, plus her presence is beautiful inside and out. I go home calm and able to rest - removes restlessness I feel since my husband passed. 5. Mindful Meditation - I have been able to attend once in 2026. Very calming, and I went home with relaxation to sleep better. I have done a lot of mindful meditation for years on my own to help with anxiety of Loved One's health issues and then death, but will attend more in the future. 5. I am so grateful that the founders started this amazing organization Tru Hospice, which has made a huge difference in my grief journey ! I tell everyone about Tru Hospice, what they offer and how they have helped me. What I learn and feel in these classes pervades my life every day now. Such a relief! Yes, there's an ongoing journey still, but I look forward to the assistance these groups offer each time. 6. Also grateful for the generous sessions with Joan Hummel - we had a compassionate connection, fun and loving. She made a big difference in my grief journey. I will always have a warm spot in my heart for Joan. Her last session affected me for life - with my picking out of different hearts that reminded me of him! 7. A friend and I attended the annual ceremony honoring our loved ones passing at the Unity Church. We brought pictures and enjoyed all the heart-touching stories we heard. Dr. Cade visited with us as a family, to talk about Stan's medical issues and explain their services. A nurse came to visit with him every few months and was available to answer any questions we had. When the team at TruCare found out that Stan loved dogs, they found a therapy dog to come visit. When Stan entered hospice care, he continued with the TruCare hospice team at Longmont United Hospital. The staff and volunteers were wonderful and provided excellent care and support to our whole family.

Beware of this company as they have a policy that will bill you 2 weeks worth of senior care…read moreservices if not given a notice ahead of time. My mother with dementia ended up going to an emergency room, and then immediately to a memory care facility. Regardless of the fact that we did not see this coming, extended family home care continued to bill for 2 weeks worth of services which was about 1,200+ only because they were not notified of cancelling services. We had two other home care agencies providing services and neither one of them had this unethical billing policy. On top of that, some of the caregivers did not seem to provide quality care. And also had inconsistent caregiving services, with some cancelling last minute or did not even had the right skill level to care for my mother.
