Are you"non-walkers" limited to the infant area, i have an 8 month old who is crawling and standing on their own that likes to play with more "advanced" toys?

Hi! Nope, the non-walkers are not limited to the infant area. They are more than welcome to explore the entire play space. We just keep walkers out of the infant area so that our littlest guests have a safe confined space for them to enjoy.

The atmosphere is peaceful and you feel like stepping into a different world, forgetting all the daily hurdles and just enjoying the moment. The staff who works there is really talented on telling about the life at the farm couple of hundreds of years ago, and they tell you some insightful stories and examples of the past. You are also encouraged to ask many questions from the staff and it is great to hear about all the details of everything. There are several farm buildings to visit which you also get to tour, and many animals who you also might get to pet. The farm store is also amazing, selling many interesting items and some crafts from the local artists which are not over priced. Remember to reserve plenty of time (2-3 hrs) and take some picnic items with if needed (there's good spots for a picnic) and a curious mind for a great visit at the historic farm!

It's now owned by a historical society and largely volunteer run. This is the kind of place that several generations of locals come to volunteer. If I lived nearby, I'd gladly volunteer and would love to lead a tour:-) The farm is quaint, cozy and affordable. It was $12 for adults for their 1.5 hour+ tour and Christmas presentation. $6 for children under 12. The crackling fire wood, the wet leaves crunching under your feet, and the friendly, welcome of the volunteers, who are excellent and clearly love this place, all made my experience five star. This historic farm is two hours from NYC, but worlds away, in a good way. I did a day trip but nearby affordable hotels abound. At the end of the tour, we were lead to their dining room, with a choice of hot cocoa or hot apple cider and two surprise (mine were snickerdoodle and molasses) cookies or a homemade Bavarian style pretzel. Free parking and I learned about the events they offer including farm to table in the summer and spooky nights during Halloween, to name a few. They cook with all the vegetables they grow and serve them at an outdoor meal. Check them out with your friends and family. You'll be glad you did.

Most people usually don't like to work out on vacations so hotels try to get away with putting 3 dumbbells and an elliptical in a room and claiming they offer a "gym" on their facilities. This place was much better than usual! I got a great workout in before the festivities There is also a nice indoor pool with a hot tub that my kids took full advantage of. They had a lot of fun with all the other kids at the hotel. Room was nice and spacious and there was a private balcony that led to the back of the cabin with a nice view of the woods. Only reason we didn't hit that 5 star was because of the weird layout. The rooms were at a different location from all the amenities so after we were done swimming, we kinda had to wrap up and walk in the freezing cold to the other area to reach our room. The bathroom was also kinda small Other than that, it was a great stay! The staff was super friendly and we were very comfortable.

The carpets are damp and stained as well adding to your fear of not wanting any of your belongings to touch anything. Thankful our room had extra blankets so we could cover everything before sitting down. At midnight, woke up sick from the dust and mold and contemplated spending the rest of the night sleeping in the car. Cannot get out of here fast enough!!! Disgusting and the owners should be ashamed of themselves for not taking the same pride on what is presented behind closed doors as the take in the outside grounds.

Kudos to my mom (a retired phys-ed teacher and former local) who found Pocolandia - kids need to move in a place without screens or video games, and this place fit the bill perfectly. My wife, mom and I took my daughter to Pocolandia to burn off some pre-nap energy and it was great. Initially, we were the only ones there, and I have to admit I was a little skeptical from the website if this would be a good fit for us. The owner was very apologetic about a slightly delayed opening (we thought they might have been closed or out of business when we first arrived, so I am glad we called!) and kindly comped us half of the hour we were there, which we truly appreciated. Our daughter test-drove some of the toddler things... tiny sliding board, little playhouse, and of course the balloons - she loved those! Then, some more kiddos came and that just amped up the energy. All of the sudden, our little one saw the "big kids" jumping on the bounce houses and climbing and wanted to get involved! Her highlight was the big inflatable bouncy slide in the back. Super-successful way to get out toddler zoomies. The smiles were 100% worth it. This is clearly a passion project small business and the very kind owner (whose name I missed - apologies!) was such a joy to work with. I wish a place like this was close to us in VA, so that we could do a birthday party there. I would describe it as if someone doubled the size of one of those play places I grew up with at McDonalds, and re-assembled it in a store in the mall. Then, compliment it with a 4 or 5 huge bouncy things: castle, slide, obstacle course, etc. Throughout, there's repurposed diner booth seats, chairs, and little kid toys for the toddler crowd (like one of those Step2 roller coasters you saw but never bought because it doesn't fit in your house, but you know you want your kid to try). Oh, and balloons... there's balloons everywhere! There's high-energy music playing and the other parents were a nice crowd. Probably trying to do what we were - get the energy out in a safe place on a cold day. It's not as big as a D-Z Discovery Zone if you remember those, but for the price it's a terrific value. The owner doesn't charge for adults since they aren't allowed on the equipment, but that was perfect as we really wanted to encourage our little one to be brave and explore her boundaries. While we were there the owner was installing some new equipment - clearly she is invested in creating a great experience for her guests. If you are looking for a super-polished corporate-type facility, this isn't it. The equipment has seen some love, but the owner was fastidious about checking and fixing everything. While we were there, I observed her re-padding some of the safety bars around the climbing structure and installing new flooring while triple-checking the bouncy castles. I love the idea of a small business like this and wish her and the team there nothing but success. It looks like for parties, they have all kinds of connections with other small local businesses to make your kids' day. Please consider dropping by - you might find it's more fun then you expected!
