Not only was I waiting for 20 minutes, nobody came to check on me or see how I was doing or to give me any type of update. They took multiple customers who came in after me. The young man in there was very attractive but besides him it was a tough experience. They said they could get us in as soon as we got there then made my friend waIt 20 minutes to get her nails done. The nails are all smudged and the workers made disparaging comments about the appearance of my hands and nails all throughout the treatment. I have been to this location only. I have to say, I have not been impressed either time. Typically, I prefer to do my own nails but before a trip or as a girls day activity- it is easier to let someone else, or so I thought. The first experience was in the summer. I had the basic mani/pedi package since it is the best deal. I do not remember the tech's name but it was a male. I gave him the benefit of the doubt since he was friendly and seemed eager to wait on me. He wasn't talkative but I didn't mind since I was with my sister and her tech was plenty chatty. The experience was fine, only slightly awkward because he seemed very uncomfortable, possibly new on the job? Once I got in the car, I realized that I had nail polish EVERYWHERE! On my cuticles, fingers, knuckles. I had to go back and remove all the mistakes with my nail polish remover. I didn't even have the massage chair on high. I was really disappointed. I am sure if I had noticed while still there and asked for him to remove it, he would have. However, I should not have needed to ask. The second experience I did just a pedicure. I had a woman, who was also friendly, but I was not impressed with her job either. I had streaks and uneven coats. It was a real mess. The atmosphere is calming and I did feel that it was clean. I always made an appointment so I never had a problem getting in. I think the option to purchase your own cubicle is a great idea- if you plan on returning because you enjoyed your experience. However, I did not and will not. I do not think the nail color selection is impressive at all!! To be honest, I have more variety in my own collection. Many bottles I saw were running really low on polish. I had to change color choices on my second visit TWICE because once getting back to the chair, the tech informed me she wouldn't have enough polish for all toes. If you don't mind inconsistency, LUV may be worth the gamble but for me- no way! I do not plan on going back. I do not recommend it to anyone. For the cost, you could get at least a few bottle of nail polish at Ulta a few doors down and I am sure you can probably do just as good of a job. read more

My mom wanted to treat me to a pedicure when I came into town, and she absolutely loves this place, so we made an appointment to come in here Saturday afternoon. I think we had Aimee do my pedicure since my feet were a hot mess from wearing sandals all summer long in Phoenix. We had a bunch of errands to do in the morning when I got in, and this was the last errand on our list before we were done for the morning. My appointment was at 1PM, but we finished up our other stuff early, and wanted to see if we could get in early. I went in at 11AM, 2 hours before my scheduled appointment. I asked the desk girl if Aimee was able to squeeze us in early, since I was really tired from flying all night, and we were running ahead of schedule from all our other errands. I guess Aimee had another client ahead me already scheduled, so we had to kill 2 hours until my appointment. When I finally did get to my appointment, Aimee was fine, but kept me waiting in the lobby for an extra 10 minutes while she cleaned up after her previous client. She did a good job on my feet, and took her time on my stuff. No complaints on how my feet turned out, but kinda surprised that the staff here doesnt really work with walkins as previous reviewers have stated. I know thier busy, but the staff seems to want to work with appointments and not walk ins. I like how they have a computer check in here, but most of us who checked in didnt realize it was a mouse based system instead of a touch screen. We all tried to touch screen our check ins, and then realized it was the mouse that we needed to use! LOL. I would come back here for more feet, but I took off a star for not working with me to rearrange my appointment, and not being flexable with clients who are walk ins. read more

I recently went here as a part of a big bridal party getting our nails done before my best friends wedding. We went here the day before the wedding. There was 6 of us in the group getting our nails done, and all of us got French nails. Some got gel, I personally got a regular manicure. The reason I'm giving this salon 1 Star is because the entire bridal party's nails turned a light brown color. It wasn't even 24 hours between the visit to the salon and the wedding. I also found pieces of fuzz underneath my nail polish. I've attached pictures as well. DO NOT go here the work they do is so shitty and the quality of nails is atrocious. For all six peoples nails to turn brown after NOT EVEN 24 hours is mind blowing. read more

She'll try several times to give you that "Guantanamo" feeling, whether it be with a soapy solution being inhaled through your nostrils, or sticking a waaaaay too hot towel on your face while pinching your nostrils and covering your mouth. She really goes for it!! I can't wait to not smell soap, but til then, I know I'm much stronger than I was an hour ago. I'm not sure why this place has so many negative reviews, I was extremely nervous to come here with my Gift Card after reading some of those reviews. This was my first LUV Salon Experience. I called and made an appointment for 10am, (I'm a new mom and have things to do!) I arrived a few minutes before 10, walked in and checked in on their computer, picked out a polish color and was seated in the Pedicure chair with Gina. She was awesome! Friendly and very welcoming. I chose the middle level pedicure for $32. (there's 3 options to chose from) We talked a little bit about my trip to Florida, the salon and services they offered and the weather. This was my second visit to Luv Spa and sadly, I will never go back. Weds. April 27th was Administrative Professionals Day. I convinced our CEO to let me purchase gift certificates for all of the admins in our office at Luv because my first experience was so positive! I was super excited to get these for everyone hoping that my second time in there would be as amzing as the first. Not so much. I went last Thursday before leaving for my trip to Austin to get a classic mani / pedi. I had Jaclyn and she was TERRIBLE. She forgot to let me know about the massage chair (total bummer b/c that's the best part!) and I was the one creating all of the conversation - not a big deal, but she seemed less than thrilled. I looked at my nails in the car after I walked out and my 2 year old cousin could have done a better job. At least she would have stayed inside the lines. The polish was bubbly and she did not smooth it out at all. The same for my pedicure. Terrible, terrible service. I will go to "da odda naiw sawon" before I go back here. read more

She said she had 2 year's experience. Bullshit! She couldn't give a good file job if she had too. I get manis/pedis semi-regularly so I do know a thing or two about what they're SUPPOSED to look like...LUV has no idea. The lady that did my nails pushed me into upgrading my package - I didn't completely mind - she had told me all about her nasty divorce bc of her cheating ex-husband so I felt bad. I wouldn't have minded had she done a good job. unfortunately: My nails were poorly done, streaky, with the edges left unpainted. I didn't come out feeling relaxed either - it had been slightly cold bc the door kept opening and closing causing huge gusts of wind in and out in the awful MI weather. Also when sitting under the nails dryer I had felt rushed out. Absolutely disappointed...still shopping around for a better place to get my nails done. read more

I wish I could write the review for LUV that I would have written a few years ago when they first opened. I love LUV, or I used to... now it just bums me out. I can't say I've had the experiences that some of the other reviews have... most of my pedicures have been great and I've gotten lucky as a walk-in that all the girls I've worked with have been very nice and accommodating. Their desk staff has always been a bit snobby and elitist, but I typically ignore them and that takes care of that issue. Otherwise, I can't complain about the service for the most part. The decor is nice and their polish selection is great - - and it is nice to know that their chairs are always clean. My major issues come to this: I don't schedule appointments for pedicures. I decide I want one and I meander in. I don't know when it flipped, but I used to be able to walk in no problems. Now, that's a near impossibility. I guess i have to give credit where credit is due and if they're that successful and busy then good for them.... but in the process they've lost the walk-in crowd almost all together. It almost makes the place more snobby and elitist. Sometimes I fool myself into thinking I'll call and get an appointment for later, but that never works. And one of the previous reviewers was right - they're not nice about it. Typically I just end up feeling stupid and regretting that I bothered to call. Also, I'm almost certain that every other time the universe manages to align and the heavens shine down on me and I finally get a freaking appointment - the damn massage chair is broken. Check you're freaking chairs, LUV, because when someone comes in looking forward to a pedi and a massage and the chair surmounts to punching you in the same spot in your lower back, it's less than impressive. And in all of this - the same goes for the Sterling Heights location... equally frustrating. read more

I scheduled an appointment 3 days in advance for this salon for my best friends birthday. On the website the prices seemed reasonable & the lay out looked beautiful! Unfortunately the experience was by far my worst yet. As myself & my 4/5 friends had arrived on time we were immediately interrupted & rushed to get ready. I clearly stated I wanted to wait for the last friend but the women Sheryl I think, rushed us to the back to pick out polish. When choosing a color she hovered over us the entire time & kept rushing us until she finally said "you need to pick a color and come with me now" (mind you this place is huge & we were the only ones in the salon & it was 6:30 and it closed at 8 so we shouldn't be rushed) The woman clearly saw that I was annoyed & apologized and said she had to rush because she wanted to get out and watch something for her son. Aside from this my other friend was tricked into paying $14 extra & her woman was loud & rude. My lady skipped many steps on my pedicure and left my nails looking rushed and messy. This is the part that baffled me most- right after she finished she actually asked us if we could get up & go pay. Are you serious? I didn't even get a chance to stand up and let my nails try. Finally my woman asked at least 4-5 if I was going to tip her. She kept mentioning "oh how much are you tipping, how much are you giving me, you can give it to me now, don't forgot to tip" and even held her hand out. The lady at the register was just as rude as the ladies doing our nails & it was very sad that for myself who made reservations 3 days in advance was rushed, told to hurry up, forced to pay early, & asked over and over about the tip. All of us were dissatisfied & although the place was beautiful the service was horrible & we will NEVER go here again. Don't waste your time or money! read more

The salon is clean (and beautiful), the staff friendly and experienced. No offense to other places, but it's very nice to be able to speak to my nail tech and not feel like she's saying things about my toes to her other nail tech friends in a different language... Another bonus is the pricing. It's $22 for a pedi, not bad if you ask me. And it's only $30 for a pedi and mani. Very reasonable for a nice salon. Plus, the massaging chairs are superb. This place looks nice at first glance- you walk into a spacious lobby that is clean and free of stinky salon fumes. But that is about as far as the "nice" goes. The receptionist was pretty unenthused and basically annoyed that I walked in. Sorry Biatch, I made an appointment. Anyway, after ten minutes of waiting, a sloppy manicurist came over to bring me to her station. The uniforms at LUV are very unfortunate. I think they should upgrade from washed and worn black Ts and scrubs to something a bit "classier" to match the decor. The manicure stations are equipped with TVs, so you don't have to make small-talk or you can see it as being forced to watch E TV. I got a set of acrylics and the manicurist was really confused about what I wanted and it took about 15 minutes for her to gather her supplies and get ready. In the end, the set was very chunky and nothing special. It was hard not to notice the really loud employees-only room. The employees were basically screaming in the room about whatever gossip they had to report... very tacky for a salon that is supposed to be a cut-above the rest. I got the set removed + manicure at another salon and the manicurist commented on how "thick" it was. I feel like LUV is trying to be "above" the strip mall nail salons and it fails miserably. It is a very nicely decorated and updated salon. However, no one seems like they want to be there, and I paid 44$ to basically soak my feet in hott water with a little bit of lotion on my feet and polish on my toes and hands. No leg massage that I look forward to for every pedicure. Plus they charged me 12$ to remove my shellac. If I wouldve known it wouldve been that much I would have removed it myself (mind you, they removed it by soaking it in acetone....) Basically, overpaid for a basic polish which I could've done at home. Not very happy and probably will not return! read more

I am really baffled by the number of negative comments on here. I have to say they almost stopped me from going here but it was my sisters 40th birthday on a Sunday and no other salons are open on Sundays. So I went in with very low expectations. So the girl at the front desk was sweet and pleasant. We (my sister, 2 teenage daughters and myself) were impressed with ambiance. Felt more like a spa than a salon. All four if us got the lotsa hotsa manis and pedis. Two of us opting for French manis for $6 more. Our techs Tricia, Alexis, robin and the fourth tech I don't have her name but they were all great. I would definitely go here again and based on how busy they are lots of people have to be happy regulars. So again shocked by all the negatives. Give it a shot. I have had multiple, completely separate terrible experiences here. I have yet to come out unscathed. Reasons can't even be pinned down to a specific business area or even a specific technician. It just must be a problem with the entire place. I have gone here while busy and while not, with an appointment and without, and with 3 different technicians. I have gotten mani + pedi, just mani, and once a full set of acrylics. EVERY TIME was a negative experience. The technicians are overwhelmingly rude or nice and incompetent. There is no in-between. One messed up my toe polish three times. That's three times she painted a toe, tried to fix it, and then had to restart. It's not hard. This one specific rude woman is the most aggressive manicurist I've ever had the misfortune of being paired with. She digs at your cuticles like her life depends on it. She says "tell me if I hurt you" but she doesn't really mean it, nor does she care. In addition, none of them ever say anything to you except to command you to wash your hands. It's so awkward. Honestly, I can do all this stuff myself at home and take responsibility for how it turns out. This place, like most nail salons, is nothing special. But when you DON'T feel like doing this yourself and want to pay someone else, the staff is what makes or breaks the experience. And Luv has by far FAILED. read more

However; I will no longer be going here as they do not use LINERS in their pedicure tubs and clearly do not clean them efficiently because I got a wonderful fungal infection on the toenails of both feet. I have not been here since 2010 and now I remember why. Its funny that the tech asked me about it and I let her know it was because the service was inadequate and still in 2018 there is Sub par service that is rushed and inadequate. I needed a pedicure and couldn't get in with my normal place so I came here. I should have done it myself. She did not remove the dried skin around my cutical area even though I asked twice and when I asked for the third time shes did a half assed job. All of it was half assed and I now need to to home and remove the skin myself- after I paid for this service. I'll never come here again. Advice? Don't have someone who asks their client if they were biting their toe nailsand who does a bad job. read more

A friend and I decided to try this place because it was the half way between us, we liked some of the staff though the first time was really rough, with a girl offering to do pink and whites and then storming out of the chair after my friend claimed she wanted the ink and whites she told the receptionist. We found out later through other nail techs that no one has training on how to do pink and whites (really???) Our experiences were mediocre but most of the time the paint on our nails was uneven or bubbled and they usually got the nail polish on our skin. Pedicures were also mediocre as I still had rough patches on the pads of my feet that would prevent me from wearing open toed shoes. Still we kept going back because we liked Maria and Vicky. However then all of the nails fell off after a few days, thinking it was a one-time thing we went back and when it happened a second time we decided to take our business elsewhere. 100 dollars every 3 weeks should get a better result than that, I would love to come back someday because we did like the techs and the salon, however there needs to be some major changes! read more
