While the three women took a couple minutes to acknowledge me (two were training the new girl) and the chairs in the waiting area were lightly stained, Sonya was lovely. I have been going to Kimi K for years now- ever since they were at their previous location. Rudina is an incredible stylist. She has been cutting my hair for years, and having someone else cut it just feels wrong. She always asks what I want, and she ever so slightly modifies it and makes it work for my face shape. I have never come home disappointed after a haircut. As far as their other services go.... I have gotten my nails done here once or twice; For a basic manicure it was good, just a nice solid color- nothing mind blowing. I have not gotten my makeup done here, as I always seem to forget that it's a service that they offer, but I think that's something I will try next time when I'm back in town. I have gotten a blow-out for a wedding reception (by Rudina, of course, as she knows my hair) and it looked fantastic. I got many compliments, and it lasted all night after lots of sweaty dancing. I have not gotten my hair colored/ highlighted/ low-lighted/ etc. I have seen many women and men get their hair colored here and it always looks great, though I have never experienced it first-hand. Kimi K is an incredible professional salon where you will feel comfortable and you won't be breaking the bank. I'm giving the salon 4 stars and this is why. I have been going to Kimi k for 5 years since we moved to Rochester. Rudina, my stylist deserves 5 stars. My hair always looks stylish and healthy. I get so many compliments on the cut and color. I get highlights and color and it looks multi dimensional. I cannot say enough about how happy I am with Rudina. The downside of this place has to do with their tacky tipping policy. Up until 5 months ago, you could add your tip onto your credit card purchase and the salon would then pay the stylist. Now they want you to use some app called tippy and pay that way or bring cash. It just is incredibly inconvenient and just makes this high end salon look tacky. read more

Kimberly C. is hands-down THE BEST nail technician you could ever hope to find. On my last pedicure (May 2018), the polish lasted for FIVE WEEKS without a single chip! Sue is an amazing hair stylist who always gets every last detail perfect in my complicated, short haircut (lots of fringe and sculpted spikes) so I feel awesome when I leave there. When the hair cut was first finished, I wasn't impressed already, when I got home, saw the back, I totally regret going there. My hair looked just like there are so many uneven tufts of hairs! Their hair stylists do not know how to work on Asian hair, even tho the owner is Asian herself! I went in to get my hair dyed in one tone, with 3-4 inches of dark roots. Before the process, the hair stylist did not tell me that it would be impossible to dye my hair all in one tone, which is false because I've had this done to me numerous times with my hair stylist down in Orlando. They used loreal, INOA on my hair, which I paid $80 for. Afterwards, my roots only came out half dyed while the rest of my hair took in the new color. I expressed my dissatisfaction immediately, and the hair stylist insisted that it was only the lighting that casted the shadow... Really?! They think they can fool their customer?! I made another appt two days later to have the stylist fix my hair. I wanted her to use the same color and apply it to the sections that were still dark. She told me that only solution is to highlight my hair or bleach it. I told her absolutely NOT! The owner came and started telling me the same thing. The stylist said she will not dye my hair again because the coloring is so expensive and its a waste of her time!! The owner told me the it was my fault for waiting this long to get my roots dyed!! I was completely shocked how irresponsible and obnoxious they were to me, the customer!! The owner insisted to color my hair to darker color, because hair would take dark color easier. But that's not what I wanted. They know they messed up but would not admit to it, in addition to blaming it on the customer!! At the end, the owner and stylist had me sign a silly hand-written waiver (so unprofessional) claiming that they will do as I asked and if the results are not favorable, they are not responsible. Fine, I signed it... So the stylist used the same color and applied it to the dark sections, as I suggested. And guess what, the results were a lot better. It's not perfect, but at least my hair is not obvious being in two-tone anymore. This salon is great when all things go well with the customer, but when issues occur, they won't step up to it to fix the problem. I'm surprised even the owner was like this! I will NEVER go to this salon again, and would strongly encourage all my Korean and Asian friends to stay away!! They are in a service industry and completely forgot what they do is a living testimony and model of their brand and people. Did the stylist even think that if she was reluctant to fix my hair, my bad hair coloring would speak for the salon for months to come??!! The customer paid GOOD money for their service, and in return, they don't fess up to their mistakes. POOR CUSTOMERS SERVICE! read more
