Run don't walk! Blooming Orchid really lives up to the hype. I was looking for a new AYCE midtown and found one thanks to Yelp and other reviews! I will post pics below, the food was fresh, portions were perfect, and the taste was excellent. The service from Qing nan was flawless, her kind, sweet, and helpful disposition made it an absolute pleasure to dine here during lunch hour. She was working the floor, taking care of all the tables, preparing the deliveries, and taking payment for take-out orders, and still her service was great, jus They have been open for 7 months now, and they definitely have the right combo, of staff, food, and atmosphere to be around for a long time to come. The decor was simple, relaxing, and comfortable. The washroom was immaculate and again simply decorated closed off by a frosted swinging glass door to access the area. Will definitely be back, looking forward to it! Did I mention lunch buffet was $15.00 Mon-Thurs

We've ordered twice over the past week. It's their Opening Month 10% Discount. This is just a bonus. Ordered three different combinations of Poke. Incredibly fresh and beautifully arranged. Three different rices available, too.

Lee is the one restaurant I look forward to every Summerlicious…read more One reason is that every year they create a completely new menu instead of reusing dishes from their regular menu. As an Asian fusion restaurant, I always come curious to see what new ideas the chef has come up with. The last two Summerlicious menus disappointed me a little--they felt a bit uninspired, with dishes like the vegetable curry and croquette. This year, however, the creativity is back, and I'd happily recommend Lee's Summerlicious menu again. Fried Wild Cod The crispy cod is served in an edible crispy rice basket, making it feel like sharing bread at the start of the meal. The fish is fried perfectly with a crisp exterior and moist, flaky interior. Paired with Thai sweet chili sauce, it's light, flavorful, and great for sharing. Gazpacho Picante A refreshing take on gazpacho. The avocado gives it a smoother texture, while the hint of spice adds another layer without overpowering the chilled tomato soup. Refreshing and a great appetizer. BBQ Jerk Pork Ribs Three generous ribs--almost a main course on their own. The meat is tender while still retaining a bit of bite, similar to the texture of slow-cooked jerk chicken. The jerk seasoning is excellent, coating every bite with rich, aromatic spices. Pan Roasted Salmon The salmon is beautifully cooked with a nicely caramelized exterior while remaining juicy inside. Each accompaniment brings something different: the olive tapenade is deeply savory, the parsnip purée is smooth and slightly sweet, the lima bean adds a creamy, nutty richness, and the lemon-tomato-pepper vinaigrette brightens everything with acidity and a gentle kick. Lima Bean Succotash Probably the prettiest dish on the menu--and also the most unusual. The lima beans and peas are cooked until tender without becoming mushy. The flavors are layered, but there's a subtle bitterness throughout. After asking the chef, we learned it's the natural flavor of lima beans and was intentionally preserved as part of the dish. Fried Organic Chicken The fried chicken is juicy and tender, reminding me of Japanese karaage. It comes with two fun sauces: one is rich and spicy with a hint of coconut, while the other is a sweet pineapple-lime mayo that pairs surprisingly well with the chicken. The pandan rice, however, was fairly ordinary. The desserts are still classic Lee--beautifully plated, but the flavors are more restrained. We tried the Rhubarb Almond Frangipane Tart, Lemon Mousse Panna Cotta (our favorite), and Strawberry Raspberry Monkey Bread. This year's Summerlicious reminded me why I fell in love with Lee in the first place.

After trying it I completely understood, this was the BEST salad of my life! All 26 ingredients worked together perfectly to make a delicious, tangy, crunchy salad unlike anything i've had before. I also highly recommend the wine paring they suggest having with the salad :) Everything else on the menu was done really well. The cheeseburger spring roll was quite unique, Indo think there could've been more texturally inside the actual spring roll, it was all mush in there. Very nice ambiance, service were very attentive, I had a great time and will be back to try more items :)

I've been meaning to check out DaiLo for a while after only hearing amazing things about it…read more The hospitality really impressed me. The general manager and server warmly greeted us and checked up on us several times. The way they took care of us throughout the meal felt like a friend who was personally hosting us in their home. They also took the time to really explain each dish and how to best enjoy it, which I appreciated. Overall, the food definitely didn't disappoint. As someone who is sensitive to salt, I was most impressed by how every dish was perfectly seasoned (not over-seasoned with salt, sugar, and msg). Each dish tasted carefully crafted to let the ingredients shine. Betel Leaf - super fresh and aromatic flavours, really wakes up the taste buds. This is a small bite though so it's gone quick. Mushroom Dumplings - my understanding is that this is a seasonal vegetarian item but it deserves a place on the permanent menu. This was hands-down the best dish of the night. I will dream about and salivate over this dish. The brown butter sauce on the mushroom filling in the dumpling (almost like a ravioli), and truffle + cheese... my gosh, it's a flavor explosion! So decadent and rich, and seasoned to perfection. We licked the plate clean - it was THAT good. Sweet & Sour Pork Hock - the pork was so tender and soft. Again, seasoned well and very balanced. The pickled radish and peppers cut through the fat nicely between bites. I wish there were more of those radish pieces! Octopus Tacos - really smoky and well-cooked octopus, and interesting textures! I was not expecting the shell/wrap to be a vegetable! I enjoyed it and the dish felt lighter/healthier. Big Mac Bao - honestly, save your money on this one. It was good but it's exactly what you'd expect? Tastes like a Big Mac with a Bao bun rather than a regular bun. I just don't understand why someone would order this for $11 and it's pretty small. Duck Bokkeum - this was interesting! As a Korean, I appreciated the Korean twist. The duck was cooked textbook and everything was well-executed. I just don't think I'm a smoked duck person. I like Peking duck. I felt like the smokiness was a little overpowering for my own preferences and I got a little tired of the flavor after several bites. That said, the vegetables on this dish are superb and add great dimension and textures! If you like smoked duck, try it! If you're not a fan, save the $62 and spend it on something else! Aloe Sake Sorbet - a beautiful finish and palate cleanser to a wonderful meal. Very refreshing. You can taste both the sake and the aloe. PARKING NOTE: There's a garage right across the street on the same side as DaiLo that offers very affordable parking. Would recommend parking there!

We were a group of 6 and had a family-style dinner. We ordered 4 starters, 4 mains and 3 desserts. It was the perfect amount. Every dish was unique and enjoyable. The flavours and textures were impressive, we truly enjoyed our dinning experience. For starters, we got the carpaccio (tasted like pho), fried watermelon (crispy and juicy), eggplant burrata (very nice pairing), octopus taco (my favourite!). For mains, we got the chicken, duck, lamb, truffle fried rice. Everything was cooked perfectly. The lamb and duck were my personal favourite. I also love all the different pairings it came with on the side. A small note, I changed my reservation from 4 people to 6 an hour before dinner. And was told for party of 5+, the $125 per person tasting menu is required. This threw me off, but the manager Jeff was really nice and gave us an exception. They also offer complimentary still and sparkling water. The washroom is located in the basement level. The service is in line with a high end restaurant - plates changed between courses, napkins fold when you step away, dishes explained, etc. Overall, great experience and I will come back.

I ordered the orange chicken, BBQ pork and mushrooms on fried rice and split it with my brother. The BBQ pork was actually amazingly tender and juicy, and better than a lot of the ones I've had from asian grocery stores and chinese restaurants. The orange chicken was sweet and flavourful, and had a fantastically high meat to breading ratio. Everything was very tasty and we thoroughly enjoyed our box. The meal itself was only $10 (as of October 2018) and was enough to feed two big eaters; that's some great value! Overall, this place is definitely a winner in my book.

We ordered the ceviche, tartare, branzino, truffle gnocchi, and chopped salad. Everything was delicious, but the standouts for me were definitely the branzino, the ceviche, and the chopped salad. Those three dishes complemented each other really well and were the highlights of the meal. The truffle gnocchi was okay, but much richer and heavier than I expected, so it's probably best to share. The tartare itself was excellent, though I wasn't a fan of the chips it came with. The food came out quickly, and the service was friendly and attentive throughout the meal. Mai Bistro has a small patio out front that's covered and indoor seating as well. We opted to sit on the patio. Since it was our first time at the restaurant the waitress explained the various menus to us. There was a written menu for Today's Specials and some of them were crossed out. I'm guessing that those items have already sold out. I saw a photo of the menu from a couple of years ago and in comparing with the menu from the other day I can see that prices have increased for some dishes. To me, prices veer on the higher side. The grilled lemongrass pork with rice and asian slaw was $22 and the shrimp ceviche with fresh salsa and avocado on a crispy tortilla was $11. My Vietnamese style pork tacos were a good deal for $10. Even at the regular price of $14 the price isn't too different from tacos at other restaurants. The pork was flavourful and portions are like what I found from food trucks in LA (but leave you wanting more).
