    Chicken katsu bento

A great restaurant in the Erin Mills area! We decided to come here before a movie.. their menu online isn't updated, but they have a very big variety of food! We were seated almost immediately (after they cleaned our table) and had great interactions with the lady working there. It was nice and lively inside, but not too loud. All the food came on a timely manner (the fried rice came very quickly though) and we all enjoyed our meal.

My friend and i came here for lunch on a Friday. When we arrived, we were the only ones in the restaurant (around 12:30), however it did start to get busy when we left around 1:30. The service was pretty quick, we were able to finish our whole meal in under an hour. The menu is pretty extensive, ranging from chinese to japanese, spicy to non spicy. I do wish that they had lunch specials as the bento was over $20, which is a lot for lunch. I will return again for dinner though when my appetitie is bigger.

We sat on the patio in the heat wave. It is not fully covered (from rain) though it has a trellis and umbrellas to hide in the shade and keep cool. We got Korean Dumplings (Mandu) (not pictured), Spicy Chicken and Shrimp Dry Pot, Sizzling Garlic Pepper Chicken, and Sizzling Szechuan Eggplant. Let me tell you- the Dry Pot was SPICY SPICY. My mom can't handle her spice well and that was the first thing she ate, which ruined her taste buds for the rest of the dishes until she gulped down her water! The sizzling dishes we got were a good kick of spice as well; definitely on the spicy side but it did not make me sweat as much as the dry pot! The flavours were all there. The sizzling garlic pepper chicken was my personal highlight of the day but 2/4 of us loved the dry pot (the 2 that love spice!) Small but note-worthy bonus: the jasmine rice was molded like pyramids! Very cute :)

Patios are opening up and people are getting excited with the change in COVID restrictions ;however, due to this a lot of people are going out and the patios are fully booked.Today is a hot day and the family decided to order from door dash. This is the first time time we ordered from Axia and these are my honest review- 1.Presentation-4/5- it is neatly packed and there is no leakage on the packaging. 2. Taste- 4/5- it tasted okay.Could be more softer as the chicken appeared to be a little hard.Probably, overcooked? The calamari is a little spicy for my liking. I should've requested it to not be spicy. 3. Price with the portions -4/5 - it is okay for the price and price . If fed 6 adults and 3 kids which is very good ! Overall impact- will definitely order again and try other options in the menu

Several years passed since eating at Axia and my last review. A lot has changed, particularly with the pandemic. Dined on the patio a couple of days after reopening stage 3. The restaurant had not yet reopened indoor dining despite indoor dining being allowed. They were anticipating doing so three days later. Reservations are required. I don't ever recall there being an outdoor seating area prior to covid. Nevertheless, a patio was created on the side of the restaurant's main entrance and offers a few tables that are widely spaced out. Each table has an awning. The server assigned to the table was also the one responsible for attending to you at all times, unlike in the past when you could flag down any person to address concerns. All personnel wore tight fitting masks. The menu, which was once upon a time very extensive has been significantly modified. Quite a few options to choose from still and new items have been added. I was a fan of the Malaysian golden Curry that they used to offer but is no more. Our table consisted of eight and we ordered appetizers like spring rolls, edamame and soup to share. We also received a couple of spring rolls on the house. Nice touch. They were a good shareable size. Four people ordered individually and the remainder decided to get sushi for the table and extra dishes like Thai chicken and shrimp Curry, a bento box and the mixed fish poke bowl to share. Doing so provided more choices to sample and was a great experience! The food was pretty good, especially the spring rolls, barbecue eel specialty roll and poke bowl. Those were hands down the best for me. I didn't really enjoy the curry nor the contents of the Bento box. Everyone else seemed to enjoy all their food. Aside from that, patio chairs were a little uncomfortable and having back problems doesn't help. Overall, the company was good and the service exceptional.

Happy Friday everyone! Here is my review for the feast we had at Axia for our Valentine's Day weekend :) Scroll through to see what we got: - Aburi Torched Salmon Sushi - Hawaiian Dragon Roll - Spicy Salmon Roll - Korean Dumplings (Mandu) - Sizzling Ginger Beef - Chicken Chow Mein - Spicy Chicken & Shrimp Dry Pot - Vanilla Creme Brûlée - Tempura Oreo Not pictured were the shrimp hargow and shrimp and pork shu mai dimsum we just gobbled them up! You guys ... I WISH I would've gone to this place earlier, all those times I just passed by it wondering what it's like inside like whyyyy ??? Well better late than sorry am I right ?! The food was absolutely delicious, every single item we got had amazing flavours and left us wanting more which brings me to my other point that their quantity is so bomb !!! We had leftovers for all the mains because the apps were sooooo filling. Just when we thought we were full I spotted the dessert menu and there it was ... TEMPURA OREOS ... y'all I legit cried when I saw it lolol I literally wait for the CNE every year to get fried desserts but because of the pandemic I've missed out on 2 years of them! But now I don't have to wait a full year anymore :') definitely hitting them up whenever I get the craving now :P All in all we were beyond satisfied with our first dine in experience after the restrictions were lifted, thank you Axia for the most delicious and filling eats along with the super unique desserts! The customer service was impeccable and we can't wait to be back and try more things off the menu, see you soon :) This one is highly recommended you guys make sure you try out this hidden gem! Check them out y'all :)

Axia was a great restaurant to go to on a cold winter night. I got the Bento box and it was quite filling. I definitely ate way too much but I enjoyed every bite though!! The food was good, the atmosphere was good, they had TV's so I could watching curling and some NBA games. I will be back!!

Dry Hotpot. Spicy, not for one who's not use to hot spices, beautifully prepared chicken and shrimp. I LOVED this dish!

Always wonderful and never disappoints. If you haven't yet, try it for yourself. We also had tuna rolls but was too hungry, we forgot to take photos! I go for the hotpot but try new things. Will keep coming back. Thank you!!

Our family started coming here more regularly this past year. Our favourite dishes include General Tso Chicken, Sizzling Ginger Beef and Sizzling Szechuan Eggplant. Portions are generous and taste great! I wish they would bring back the Pad Thai Noodle that used to be on the menu. I remember that dish being really good. This time around we passed on the Red Chicken Curry. Although we normally like curry dishes at Thai restaurants, it seemed like it was thickened with too much cornstarch.

Came here with some coworkers for a farewell lunch. Picked this place totally by random, super glad I did. First off, the atmosphere is really nice; classy and intimate enough for a date or for a lunch with the boss. I had the Thai Red Curry that was part of the lunch specials and my coworkers either had the same thing or went with the sushi lunch combo. All came with a miso soup that was solid, but the actual curry I ordered was phenomenal. The level of spice was perfect; hot enough that we were starting to fan ourselves, but without losing depth or flavour. Portion size is also fantastic; we weren't small eaters but due to the spice of the curry we found it hard to finish as our mouths were on fire. There is a lot of curry but not much rice so we could only peck at it and offset the heat with water lolol. The bowl of curry was so full it overflowed onto the table when our waitress brought it to us. In the end, the two of us who had the curry ended up taking the majority of it home for Round 2. Be sure to join their rewards program (through their app) so you rack up points and get free ice cream every visit. There's also a Yelp check in offer for a free bubble tea, though you can't use it with the lunch specials. All in all a solid place for food; great venue, lots of variety in menu items, great food, and excellent pricing. The curry was $12.99 and my coworker's sushi was ~$10 for 2 rolls. It's hard to find any place for a sit down meal for ~$15, let alone one that looks good enough to do business lunches at, so this is a real gem in my books. I'll definitely be back for more!

This place was delicious! We sat at their outside patio when it was drizzling outside yet we stayed dry and got our food relatively quick! Our server was really nice and let us stay after we finished our food (as it was pretty empty). 8.5/10

Second visit after 2 years , Saturday evening ! Ordered beef n broccoli chow mein and lychee bubble tea . Bubble tea was shocking poor quality , sour n extraordinarily sweet. Beef chowmein was good , matched expectations ! 3/5 because bubble tea shock burst n server was unhappy serving . Lack is positivity @ the place . Server also wanted to know how much I am tipping , I don't like pressure to tip !!!!!! Work on to exceed customer service . IT may be a good idea to pack food from this place .

As we went inside the restaurant and checked in got a yelp coupon which we redeemed for a milk bubble tea mango bubble tea which was awesome!! This place is beautiful decor wise The food was average though huge helpings we could nt finish it had ordered beef and broccoli and beef chow mein The disappointment was the service There was one waitress for the entire restaurant and she was angry and rude Towards the end when we finished our dinner and were payng by credit card the waitress started peeping into the machine and asked if we were tipping her at all here and demanded us to increase the amount Asking us to pay more than we were paying This was. Embarrassing Not going here for a while

There are different locations throughout the GTA, serving the exact same menu and concept. Service is fast and efficient. You order on your phone by scanning the QR code on the table. Food comes out within ~5 minutes - very fast! The menu is quite extensive. They have a wide variety of teppanyaki rice sets available, as well as noodles, mini hot pot (including individual servings), and various drinks and Asian desserts. I love that you can customize each dish by adding the add-ons (additional ingredients). You can even "build your own teppanyaki set" by choosing the carbs, sauce, protein(s), and add-ons (including vegetables). We only tried the teppanyaki rice sets this time around. The Sizzling Japanese-Style Assorted Vegetables consisted of cabbage, green pepper, zucchini, mushrooms, and corn. This was listed under "snacks" category, and we thought it would be a good veggie dish accompaniment to the other main dishes. I found it to be very salty and saucy. It had an aftertaste that I didn't really like. The pieces of green pepper, zucchini, and mushrooms were very small, that you could barely taste them. It was mostly white cabbage shreds and corn. The 3 teppanyaki rice sets (including one deluxe set) were good. The Jumbo Unagi Teppanyaki Rice was one of my favourites - the unagi there was "jumbo" indeed (biggest and longest I had ever seen that was served with a rice set in a restaurant). I liked that it wasn't doused with too much unagi sauce wich tends to be sweet and sticky. There was a good amount of meat in the unagi as well. Salmon & Shrimps Teppanyaki Rice Set and Seafood Rice Set (salmon, scallops, shrimps) were also decent. The Seafood Rice Set (considered a deluxe menu item) had a bigger and better salmon compared to the thin salmon slices in the Salmon & Shrimps Teppanyaki Rice Set. The shrimps and scallops were pretty good (there were more shrimps than scallops). All dishes came with corn and green onion, and you can choose to add extra add-ons such as cabbage, green pepper, zucchini, mushrooms, garlic bits, extra protein, etc. As garlic lovers, we added extra garlic bits to every teppanyaki set that we ordered. Overall, good food and fast service. I wish the Sizzling Japanese-Style Assorted Vegetables dish wasn't so salty, and came with more / bigger pieces of the actual vegetables rather than just mostly corn. But the other teppanyaki rice sets were good value.

This restaurant was recommended to us from Naomi at Strewn Winery…read more We asked if there was a dress code as we were underdressed due to the fact we had just spent the day packing for our camping trip and driving to Canada. She assured us not to worry as the owners are very kind and it was a place you could dress up but accept casual wear as well. So off we went. Pulling in we saw it was a restaurant attached to the Orchid Hotel. And old but beautiful looking home converted to a hotel/restaurant. Once inside I saw white linen table cloths with nice stem ware and crisp white napkins and silverware. I looked at my sister and said I think we are underdressed lol. It was a Thursday around 5 pm, no reservation but it wasn't super busy yet so we were immediately seated. The host was kind, and put two tables together for our party of 5. The menu was simple which I liked. We ordered appetizers to start, the spring rolls and the crab cakes. I apologize for not taking pictures, I was tired and forgot so I'll just say they were delicious. Sidenote: I don't like seafood but one taste of the crab cake and I could have eaten both cakes myself! So very good! For the main course I ordered the Thai chicken coconut curry which had a side of rice. My hubby ordered the salmon with rice and vegetables. From the first bite we both let out yummy noises. We each took a bite of each other's food and I can say the salmon was absolutely delicious as was my curry dish. The portion sizes were great. We were both so full. My brother in law got the lamb-it looked like it was cooked perfectly and he said it was delicious. My sister got the fish and chips-it came with a couple different sauces but all she wanted was tartar sauce and ketchup. She didn't ask if they had any because she didn't want to offend the chef lol. We recently reminisced about going to Bao Sandwich Bar for lunch between interviews at the University of Waterloo. I had mentioned to him that it had a second location in Mississauga, roughly a fifteen-minute drive from our workplace. He said that when we were both in the office, he'd only want to go there for lunch with me. It's nice that he trusts my judgment when it comes to eateries. I also believe that he likes my company. A couple of Wednesdays ago, he asked what I was doing for lunch. I normally hit Treats nearby. He wasn't feeling it. I said that we could go here and provided some details, including its online menu and such. I also asked him if he had any meetings. I'm that type of a planner, down to the departure time. He was game. I said that we should leave at 11:15 am. The place opens at 11:30 am. He had a meeting at 1 pm. I wanted a leisurely, unrushed lunch. Done! I drove us over there. With my lead foot, it was more like thirteen minutes, without hitting any highway. Like the Bao place in Waterloo, this one is also located on a lower level of a plaza, with a tall building at the top of this hill. I parked in front of the eatery. We walked in. We were the first customers. It looks like the place kept some of the seating from the previous business that occupied the place. The upholstery looked shabby. Otherwise, the rest of the eatery was spruced up. I got a combo consisting of these items: - Crackle belly bao - Korean garlic chicken bao - Purple flower lemonade - Dynasty duck poutine My manager got the following items: - Dynasty duck bao - Thai yum pork bao - House salad - Thai tea I took a star away because I wasn't expecting my order to be $40! It was okay for the large portion of dynastic duck poutine that I got. It was rather steep. You won't see me eating here every day. I split the poutine with my manager, so it was okay. I paid with a credit card. The transaction was smooth. It didn't take long for our food to be ready. The woman who had taken our orders was nice to bring the food to our table. I have always loved the crackle belly bao. It was equally as delicious here as it was in Waterloo. The pork belly was tasty and perfectly seasoned. The bao was nice and malleable. The veggies provided a nice contrast. I loved it. I tried the Korean garlic chicken bao. It was heavenly. The sauce was spicy and garlicky. The chicken had a crispy exterior and was juicy inside. It's nice having another decent bao to call my favourite. The purple flower lemonade was delicious. I normally don't like sweet lemonade. This version had a touch of sweetness that I enjoyed. This drink's colour was also pretty to look at. My manager enjoyed his food. He oddly doesn't like green vegetables, so I saw him pick out the cilantro and green onions. He felt that the sauces were mixed up. His Thai yum pork bao wasn't spicy. The dynasty duck that he has had in the past was oddly spicy. We had a baseline of the dynasty duck poutine that wasn't spicy to compare. Even with the sauce mix-up, he still enjoyed everything. His side salad had a bit of a spice kick, so he was happy. I loved eating here. It was a nice, casual lunch with yummy food. I wish that it were cheaper. However, the quality was excellent that I'm okay shelling out for it as someone who likely won't be dropping by weekly. (67)
