My friend and i came here for lunch on a Friday. When we arrived, we were the only ones in the restaurant (around 12:30), however it did start to get busy when we left around 1:30. The service was pretty quick, we were able to finish our whole meal in under an hour. The menu is pretty extensive, ranging from chinese to japanese, spicy to non spicy. I do wish that they had lunch specials as the bento was over $20, which is a lot for lunch. I will return again for dinner though when my appetitie is bigger. read more

We sat on the patio in the heat wave. It is not fully covered (from rain) though it has a trellis and umbrellas to hide in the shade and keep cool. We got Korean Dumplings (Mandu) (not pictured), Spicy Chicken and Shrimp Dry Pot, Sizzling Garlic Pepper Chicken, and Sizzling Szechuan Eggplant. Let me tell you- the Dry Pot was SPICY SPICY. My mom can't handle her spice well and that was the first thing she ate, which ruined her taste buds for the rest of the dishes until she gulped down her water! The sizzling dishes we got were a good kick of spice as well; definitely on the spicy side but it did not make me sweat as much as the dry pot! The flavours were all there. The sizzling garlic pepper chicken was my personal highlight of the day but 2/4 of us loved the dry pot (the 2 that love spice!) Taste- 4/5- it tasted okay.Could be more softer as the chicken appeared to be a little hard.Probably,overcooked? The calamari is a little spicy for my liking. Several years passed since eating at Axia and my last review. A lot has changed, particularly with the pandemic. Dined on the patio a couple of days after reopening stage 3. The restaurant had not yet reopened indoor dining despite indoor dining being allowed. They were anticipating doing so three days later. Reservations are required. I don't ever recall there being an outdoor seating area prior to covid. Nevertheless, a patio was created on the side of the restaurant's main entrance and offers a few tables that are widely spaced out. Each table has an awning. The server assigned to the table was also the one responsible for attending to you at all times, unlike in the past when you could flag down any person to address concerns. All personnel wore tight fitting masks. The menu, which was once upon a time very extensive has been significantly modified. Quite a few options to choose from still and new items have been added. I was a fan of the Malaysian golden Curry that they used to offer but is no more. Our table consisted of eight and we ordered appetizers like spring rolls, edamame and soup to share. We also received a couple of spring rolls on the house. Nice touch. They were a good shareable size. Four people ordered individually and the remainder decided to get sushi for the table and extra dishes like Thai chicken and shrimp Curry, a bento box and the mixed fish poke bowl to share. Doing so provided more choices to sample and was a great experience! The food was pretty good, especially the spring rolls, barbecue eel specialty roll and poke bowl. Those were hands down the best for me. I didn't really enjoy the curry nor the contents of the Bento box. Everyone else seemed to enjoy all their food. Aside from that, patio chairs were a little uncomfortable and having back problems doesn't help. Overall, the company was good and the service exceptional. read more

Been here a few times are can safety say the service, food and ambience all have been on point each time. Axia is very centrally located on the main road with a very calming interior.This place reminds me of a lot of restaurants from Dubai or that part of the world. So I'll be honest I have tried 4 things on their menu and they all have turned out pretty delicious. My favorite are the jumbo sizzling shrimps it's a must try and are served on a sizzler.Their fried rice is pretty delicious with a generous portion size and lots of veggies it makes a great side with any meat.On my last visit we ordered the chicken red curry when it came out it didn't look quite promising-the dish didn't have any veggies only meat- but when I took a bite of it I it was really flavorful I would give it a 8/10.I have also had their sushi and it was delicious the seafood used in it was very fresh and the sauce was absolutely delicious. Service here has always been quick and friendly.Pricing is not too bad and I would love to try their lunch combos I have heard good things about it. Lots of parking space outside. Axia was a great restaurant to go to on a cold winter night. I got the Bento box and it was quite filling. I definitely ate way too much but I enjoyed every bite though!! Our family started coming here more regularly this past year. Our favourite dishes include General Tso Chicken, Sizzling Ginger Beef and Sizzling Szechuan Eggplant. Portions are generous and taste great! I wish they would bring back the Pad Thai Noodle that used to be on the menu. I remember that dish being really good. Came here with some coworkers for a farewell lunch. Picked this place totally by random, super glad I did. First off, the atmosphere is really nice; classy and intimate enough for a date or for a lunch with the boss. I had the Thai Red Curry that was part of the lunch specials and my coworkers either had the same thing or went with the sushi lunch combo. All came with a miso soup that was solid, but the actual curry I ordered was phenomenal. The level of spice was perfect; hot enough that we were starting to fan ourselves, but without losing depth or flavour. Portion size is also fantastic; we weren't small eaters but due to the spice of the curry we found it hard to finish as our mouths were on fire. There is a lot of curry but not much rice so we could only peck at it and offset the heat with water lolol. The bowl of curry was so full it overflowed onto the table when our waitress brought it to us. In the end, the two of us who had the curry ended up taking the majority of it home for Round 2. Be sure to join their rewards program (through their app) so you rack up points and get free ice cream every visit. There's also a Yelp check in offer for a free bubble tea, though you can't use it with the lunch specials. All in all a solid place for food; great venue, lots of variety in menu items, great food, and excellent pricing. The curry was $12.99 and my coworker's sushi was ~$10 for 2 rolls. It's hard to find any place for a sit down meal for ~$15, let alone one that looks good enough to do business lunches at, so this is a real gem in my books. Been there a couple of times in the past for dinner and happy hour during a weekday. What stood out to me back then was their spicy yummy hot and sour soup. The atmosphere hadn't changed from last time. Two fake trees are situated inside with lots of hanging lights imitating an outdoor feel. Above the kitchen, there are fake second floor rooms with windows that have a different light in each room. That's a cool design!!! They also have a patio area outside. This time I went there for lunch and got a sizzling plate of eggplant and other veggies. It came with a pyramid shape rice bowl. The dish was flavourful but it could have been spicier. Too much sauce for my liking too. At least the portion was huge. My partner had the chicken Katsu bento box and he was satisfied. For a lunch at an Asian place, I found it was pricey. However, if you are having a celebration, they indeed have lots of space to cater to you. I would go back if they still have their happy hour menu. read more

Came here with a party of 25 people and they set up a long table right in the middle. As i sat down, i was quickly asked what id like to drink. And they brought water as i looked through the drink menu. She also came to check back at a reasonable time so i wasnt forgotten or rushed. Service was amazing for such a large group of people. The menu was extended! So many things to choose from i had a hard time deciding. They have things from dim sum to korean to thai to japanese. And hearing from everyone at the party, it sounded like everything was amzing. What i ordered: Spicy salmon rolls California rolls Chicken satay skewers Unagi bento box The portions were huge! The restaurant's interior design describes a modern patio theme with string lights, round wooden tables, and indoor trees. I am only perplexed that all the chairs in the restaurant don't match, mine was a very uncomfortable wooden chair but I could see nicer ones at other tables. Also, the drawing paper on the tables made the whole place look 2x more drab than it could be. Feeling adventurous, I built my own bento box for the seemingly decent price of $19.95. Terrible experience! Do NOT go! So we went for dinner and were very disappointed. After we ordered, we had to ask for the 5th glass of water. When the soup came, it was not even hot. They didn't even heat it up. We then had to ask for salt and soy sauce. The Thai chicken curries were straight out of the freezer. Axia has been on my list for many years and a must try. Although I would have loved to experience indoor dining due to the pandemic I was forced to order take out. As it was my first time I decided to order a bit of everything. I ordered sweet and sour pork, pepper steak, udon noodles and shumai dumplings. All the food was super hot and well cooked. The pepper steak was my favorite. Large pieces of juicy well cooked steak. The portions of the dishes that were ordered were very generous but my only complaint is that although very good the sushi rolls are very small for the price you pay. I have had larger rolls at all you can eat restaurants. None the less this will not stop me from ordering their sushi in the future. You may also want to keep in mind that the dishes are not the cheapest either but like they say you get what you pay for. The quality of the food makes up for the cost. I'm my eyes id rather pay more to get great quality. My first visit to Axia has now opened the door to many more visits in the near future. Great job Axia. The shrimp tempura was still warm when eating the roll. Skewer sampler: great combination of chicken, lamb, beef, shrimp and zucchini. The shrimps were topped this tasty mix of spices. Chilli Chicken was a bit extra chewy. The flavour of the sauce was ok. (I still like my Hakka style Chilli Chicken better) The mango bubble tea tastes just like Rubicon Mango juice. Food didn't take too long to arrive for the group of 10 of us. Both my fiancé and I ordered the bento box for lunch. It was very filling and we were satisfied with our bento box. I really enjoyed the salmon sashimi as it tasted delicious and fresh. They also have free bubble tea if you check in on Yelp. However, since we had a large group only two people could redeem the free bubble tea. We didn't realize there was gratuity already included on the bill until after a friend pointed it out. Tried Axia last night, and have mixed feelings on it! First off, the decor is wonderful, and is set up as if you are outdoors in Japan. The servers are kind and attentive! In terms of the menu, they span several different cuisines (Chinese, Japanese, Thai, etc.) but it definitely feels like they may be better off focusing on one type of cuisine. The food would be more expensive if you were to go to a regular Chinese or Japanese restaurant. However, a great value option is the build your own bento - I got two salmon avocado rolls, and a "main" roll (I went for the veggie surpreme), an appetizer of edamame and green tea ice cream for dessert. I would have been much more disappointed with the value if I didn't have this option available! All in all, everything was decent and as expected. You aren't going to have your mind blown, but it's a decent place if you're in the area. read more

I know what you're thinking, a SECOND updated review for this place? Yes, well, how often do you have a really awful experience at a restaurant? Probably at least a handful. And how often after that experience did you write a review about it? Again, probably a few handfuls. Well, how often have you written a review and then management contacted you and apologized about it? I've had owners or management contact me about good reviews I've written, and had heartfelt "Thank you"s and the like, but never has anyone contacted me when I had a bad experience. That has only ever happened to me once, and it happened to me with Axia. Not only did I get a sincere apology about something he didn't really have control over (people will be people sometimes and waiters are just that), but he offered me a meal on the house to make up for the experience. Now, before you go thinking I'm changing this review just because I got a free meal, I'm not. I'd already been to Axia four more times with the intent of writing an update before I was even contacted, and then I went a few more times before even telling the staff about the offer. It wasn't until after I had already decided to write an update that we then went in and had the meal on the house. And boy was it delicious. I'm never disappointed with the food at Axia, and a few reviewers knocked down stars for "too much selection"- but that is never, ever a bad thing. I love that they include Japanese food and I love even more that their wide selection allows my husband and I to eat there with new choices every time, while bringing along friends and family who prefer to eat other things. Everyone is happy with their food every time we come. The selection is one of the strong points. And everything tastes so good that you pretty much know you can't go wrong. And I have to say, even though I was terrified of having a bad experience again, we never did. (We also haven't seen our server since, hmm.) The reason why I'm writing this update boils down to this, aside from the good food, and good experiences I had after the one bad, management contacted me and stayed in contact. We conversed. I apologized for writing a review but not writing a letter, because let's be honest, if I just write a review and don't write them a letter- how can they fix the problem? Last time I wrote that mistakes happen, it's how you deal with the mistake that counts- and Axia blew me away with how they handled one mistake. I'll happily be, and am, a frequent visitor to Axia. Special notes: The vegetarian Korean dumplings are to die for. The vegetable tempura (dinner or appetizer) is one of my favorites! My husband gets the vegetable chow mien every single time and never tires of it. They have a great selection of vegan sushi. If you are served by Josh (gosh I hope that's right), you're in for a wonderful experience. He's delightful & attentive. Disappointed! Surprisingly, people seem to love this place and for a Monday evening, the restaurant was quite busy. However, we weren't being attended to and when I asked, the waitress non-apologetically stated that there were only 2 servers catering to 10-15 tables. Minus points right away! And then came the glasses of water; dirty and scratched all over. Ugh. The beverages weren't bad. I ordered a mango bubble tea slushie and my parents ordered two different teas. They loved it. The food cost as much as it would at Spring Rolls or restaurants alike but quality-wise wasn't at par. My beef sizzler was bland, dad's lemongrass pork was too dry; the other people at the table didn't complain but did comment that they had had better. The restaurant is cozy; lot of plastic plants, lanterns and lights inside that my family and friends didn't seem to mind but I found the decor border-lining tacky. Oh, and seats aren't comfortable.
