I've taken hot yoga classes before through Core Power, but I've never sweat like this in my LIFE. I was drenched, my clothes soaked through, it was quite hilarious actually. I could see sweat coming through individual pores all over my body. I think I took 8 different classes with 8 different teachers and each flow was nice! There are clearly lots of regulars that attend classes. Aerial Yoga isn't heated, and it was by far my favorite class. Maybe it was the novelty of it since I had never tried Aerial Yoga before, but nonetheless, I felt like a kid and was radiating a smile the entire time. Gayle was lovely. She even took some pictures of me in poses to share with my friends and family. I ended up having a private class since no one else showed up (yay me!!!). Parking available in the shopping center. Bathrooms & showers available inside. Filtered water available too- not cold, but you don't really care after you just sweated your entire body out. The staff & teachers were kind. Some made efforts to share modifications while others let people do their own thing. Some offered to do hands on adjustments (with consent), others just taught and gave praise.

Our goal was to have a natural birth at the hospital, and because of this class and the knowledge/practice we had prior to having our baby--it made it all possible. My husband stated that he would pay double for this class because of how much he learned and how prepared he felt in supporting me once labor began. Each class was engaging and fun. Liza was so kind and sweet, she had checked in with me around the time of my "due date" to see how I was doing. She was SO kind to also message back in forth with my husband while I was in labor at home, which made my husband feel very supported throughout the entire process and he felt that Liza genuinely cared about our birth. Liza communicating with us during our labor via phone was above and beyond what we expected when taking her class. We are thankful for Liza and the way the Lord used her in our lives before the arrival of our first born!

And I walked out of the class with so much knowledge and confidence, and my husband and I were able to achieve the fully natural birth we had hoped for! She was the perfect teacher and I would recommend this to ANYONE AND EVERYONE!

I was dealing with blood blisters, a poor latch, doubts and fears about supply, and a baby that was temporarily not gaining enough weight. As a first-time mom, it was extremely stressful, and there were many tears. However, Juliana's visits always left me feeling more informed, reassured, and capable. We also did a weighted feed during every visit, which confirmed that my baby was indeed getting enough to eat. I still remember the relief I felt when I learned that. Juliana is a big reason why I decided to stay the course with breastfeeding. (Thank goodness, because now I LOVE it.) My insurance covered the cost of the visits, so I just paid the $60 travel fee. I also attended her breastfeeding class with my husband before giving birth. This was super helpful, but I recommend taking the class within 1 month of your due date. We took it a bit too early in my pregnancy, and forgot a couple things by the time I gave birth. Overall, I would highly recommend booking a lactation consultation with Juliana if you're in need of support!

The result was an almost debilitating pain in my low back and sciatic nerve that demanded I take it easy and rest. Unfortunately, that's not really an option or preference for my lifestyle so I sought out professional help. Dr. Binder was the first chiropractor I had ever visited and, quite honestly, I was kinda stressed out about the whole crack it and pop it thing. I knew just a massage wasn't going to fix my injury that was a compilation of many other small injuries. Despite the vast size, the space feels immediately inviting when you walk through the doors. Dr. Binder was there to greet me right away and I was impressed with our one-on-one consultation & the comprehensive tests she used to assess what was actually going on with my back. She took the time to answer my questions while interpreting the results of my tests, calmed some fears and explained to me how the body responds to stresses, injuries & how receiving chiropractor care can help with so many ailments across the board. We moved over to the table and she told me exactly what she was going to do, what sensation I might feel & asked how I responded to each adjustment. She was thorough, strong & effective with her hands-on adjusts, yet gentle enough being it was my first time in her care. More than anything though, I could tell she was really trying to help me. She followed my adjustments up with a massage to the area, answered more of my questions for care until our next visit and I was on my way. We scheduled another appointment in a few days and within a week I felt back to normal. So it turns out taking it easy and resting is a requirement when dealing with injuries. There is no doubt in my mind though, that Dr. Binder helped accelerate my healing process, and for that, I am so grateful.

The Joshua Tree retreat gave me the opportunity to slow down, look inward, and begin working through the fears and limiting beliefs that had been holding me back. The level of care Mel provides is exceptional. She is compassionate, present, and incredibly intuitive. She has a gift for making people feel seen, heard, and understood while creating a safe environment where vulnerability feels natural. I never felt judged--only supported and encouraged. Her guidance helped me begin rebuilding trust in myself, feel more grounded, and realize that my fears do not have to control my life. Every detail of the retreat was thoughtfully planned and created with so much intention. The environment felt peaceful, welcoming, and nurturing from the moment I arrived. The combination of meaningful conversations, healing practices, and moments of joy made the entire experience unforgettable. I left feeling lighter, more connected to myself, and with tools I continue to use in my everyday life. This retreat reminded me that I am capable of moving through fear and creating a life that feels fulfilling again. Mel creates something truly special, and I would recommend her retreats to anyone who feels stuck, overwhelmed, or ready to invest in themselves and their healing journey.

I'm so glad I went back to continue building on the foundation laid the first time. As a new mom navigating some professional uncertainty, this season of life is presenting very different challenges than the season I was in on my last retreat, and yet, I realized that my thought patterns had reverted to the same trap - a feeling that outside accomplishments dictate my inner value. It's been an incredible shift to feel that intrinsic value back in my body and my heart. Getting to experience the retreat with a close friend was an added benefit, and Mel did a great job tailoring the experience to be transformative for both of us. October 16 2024: This retreat was one of the best things I've done for myself. I was burned out and on a hamster wheel of work, worry, stress repeat. Out of sheer desperation I went online and booked an experience with Mel, knowing little about what was in store for me. Through her pre-session meetings, I got a better sense, but you never really know until you get there. From the moment I set foot on the property, I felt serene and taken care of. Mel is incredible in so many ways: as a host, a curator of experiences tailored to your specific energy and season of life, and a cook of amazing, nutritious meals. Best of all, she hones in on the practical elements of a spiritual transformation that you can take back to "real life" with you so that your shift transcends the amazing but brief time in the desert. It's been two weeks since I returned from the retreat and the impact is lasting. Most profound is the realization that my happiness is not contingent upon doing or achieving anything. This has removed a perfectionist tendency and (perhaps ironically) allowed me to be far more productive with less pressure on myself. When I meditate, I remember the look of the stars in Joshua Tree, and somehow, I'm accessing the same incredible feeling. If you're on the fence about booking this, all I can say is it's worth it.
