Terrible return experience, I was just trying to return 1 pair of shoes from online purchase and the lady at the counter was super rude. She made it seem like I made the item nonreturnable despite the shoes delivered in an unacceptable state - box was all squished and ripped up, shoes had tape and dirt on the bottom. Only offered store credit and did not hesitate to keep telling me how she was doing me a solid despite the fact that it was a valid return. Ended up taking the item to UPS because I couldn't deal with this lady. It's not the content in what she said that really got me ticked off, it was the rude and demeaning delivery of the message that I should just return via Bloomingdale's online than come in. Will never return and recommend everyone just shop at Nordstrom instead. read more

The customer service at this Bloomingdale's fragrance department was extremely disappointing. The only bright spot was the vendor at the Montale counter. Everyone else either lacked product knowledge, was dismissive, or seemed completely uninterested in helping customers. The Byredo counter had no one available. The Initio representative was rude and lacked knowledge. The MFK experience was equally poor. Alex saw us at the Creed counter was the worst part of the experience. He seemed far more concerned with making a sale than helping us find the right fragrance. He refused to provide samples, even after knowing we were planning to make a purchase. Samples are an essential part of buying luxury fragrances. You need time to experience a scent, let it dry down, and decide whether it's truly worth the investment. He became argumentative, and to make matters worse, he failed to add our Loyalist number to the transaction. When we pointed it out, he blamed my grandmother instead of taking responsibility. He never apologized. I came in excited to explore different fragrance houses, collect samples, and have conversations with each brand before deciding on a purchase. Instead, the atmosphere made my family and me feel unwelcome and uncomfortable. It honestly made me miss the experience at South Coast, where luxury shopping actually feels like luxury. Shame on this Bloomingdale's for turning what should have been a fun experience into such a disappointing one. I'll gladly spend my money elsewhere. A huge thank you to SHABANA, the Lead Manager, for stepping in, listening, and doing everything she could to make things right. Located in Fashion Island, this Bloomingdale's location can be a hit or miss in customer service! I enjoy their selection in clothes, particularly carrying James Perse with decent selection. My recent experience with customer service was a hit this time. This place is pricey, but most of the store was well maintained and organized. I really enjoyed browsing in the cosmetics department, always fun in that department!!! I've never had huge issues with this store. But be mindful of their return policies!!!! Always feeling classy stepping into the store with various products from make ups, shoes, perfumes, sunglasses, fine jewelry, and so much more. Went to the Chanel counter to purchase some liquid foundation for replenishment. Staff did greet me, but didn't feel the friendly vibe. She definitely seems unhappy to be at work. I brushed it off, maybe she had a bad morning start. After check out, I just roamed around and other staff had more positive vibes. Easily greeted me with a smile at other counters. Five stars for Frankie in fragrance! I came in on a Saturday night at 7:45. I was that annoying customer strolling in 15 minutes before closing wanting to sniff some fragrance. Frankie was kind and personable. She helped me sample the perfumes I was interested in, and made recommendations for others. She gave me multiple samples and a small gift, too. I ended up purchasing three perfumes that I know I'm going to love! One was available in-store, and the other two will be shipped to me. Bloomingdale's refused to replace pants that they altered where one leg was 1/2 inch shorter than the other and both were too short. The Newport Fashion Island Bloomingdale's showed me the same pair of pants , however they stated that I would need to buy them as they would not stand behind their mistake of altering. When I bought these pants I also bought a men's suit , tie , belt , Polo sweatshirt and dress shirt for well over $ 2000.00 and now Bloomingdale's had lost a customer forever. Bloomingdale's said they would be able to help me if I was a member of their club where a customer gets $25.00 after spending $5000.00.....Buying from Amazon I am not faced with these issues and just get quality products , deleted next day and no issues with employees !! read more

I had a very disappointing and frankly upsetting experience at Bloomingdale's. The level of customer service was extremely unprofessional and disrespectful. When I tried to return an item, the staff showed zero willingness to assist and treated me as if I didn't matter at all. What was even more disturbing was the clear sense of judgment based on appearance. It genuinely felt like unless you are dressed in luxury brands, you are not treated with basic respect. No customer should ever feel ignored, looked down upon, or made to feel less than because of how they look. A store that represents itself as high-end should understand that true class starts with how you treat people--not what they wear. This experience was not just poor service--it was demeaning. If I could rate zero stars I would! First off service was slow which okay is fine it looked low staff the prices are way too high for the food served! Bland not good at all. The staff are always nice and welcoming here. You usually don't get a 'hello' just walking around but if you have any questions or when you're at the register they're always been helpful to me. This particular location doesn't get much foot traffic :( but that's one of the reasons why I love it. You can see so much more. What a gross experience in customer service. I came in with my husband to see if there was a cologne he actually liked for Father's Day. We stood in front of the Tom Ford display and a lady was there manning it but talking to another associate. Not even a hi or just a min or anything. So we start smelling some of the TF items without spraying, just lift the cap type of situation. After about 10 min, I finally asked her for some fragrance papers we can use to sample and coffee beans since we smelled a 5 or 6 of them. She was SO OFFENDED I interrupted her conversation. Gave us same papers and said to just smell our own skin instead of coffee beans? Needless to say we went to Nordstrom instead. After my disastrous experience with Bloomingdales a few years ago, i thought i would give the store another try due to them having the shoes my mother wanted. At the store they let us know that they did not have the San Edelman "Clara" shoes in a 7.5 but they could order it online. While checking out, the sales person guaranteed that it would get here in a week. We also agreed to open a credit card because it would give us a good discount and free shipping to the house. Well it has been more than a week since we ordered it and the shoes arrived. The shoe box describes the correct shoe but when we opened the box it was not only the wrong shoe but it was used with scuff marks and a bad odor. Very upsetting. We called the customer service number on the receipt to rectify the situation and get the correct shoe thinking they would be understanding and apologetic but we got quite the opposite reaction. We were put on hold for ten minutes then we spoke to Daniel, who said "it's still black shoes." For him, this might be okay but clearly it's not okay. He explained our only option is to return the shoe first and wait another who knows how long until we get the correct shoes. I told him no. We would only be returning the shoes once we get the correct pair and we want it to be expedited to us. To do that, he said he's going to charge us for both shoes... I'm not sure if that sounds okay with you, but for me it didn't. Daniel was rude and did not seem to understand why we are so upset. Bloomingdale's needs to urgently work on their customer services and create policies that will prevent this from happening to other customers. We now await for the correct pair of shoes and for someone to hopefully contact us to rectify, explain why this happened and apologize. Please be careful when you're ordering items to be sent to you from another Bloomingdale's store and keep low expectations for dealing with its customer service. read more

Customer Service in the Fashion Island Bloomingdale perfume dept was horrible. I went in to purchase a new fragrance, starting off with Jo Malone to add to my collection and told the cashier I was also open to new lines and frangrances. The short female cashier with shoulder-length dark hair not wanting to work that day was not helpful. She kept saying, "we don't have anything in your category." What does that mean?? She wasn't willing to explore any options except when she came from around the counter, folded her arms, and slowly walked my husband and I over to the Creed cologne and sprayed one sample. I also asked her about Tiffany, and she said they didn't have any new fragrances and just stuck to "we don't have anything in your category." We departed and went to South Coast Plaza to do other shopping and while walking through Nordstrom, stopped at the Jo Malone counter, was greeted with great customer service, where the sales rep asked if I had tried the new fragrance English Pear & Sweet Peavand in doing so, I ended up purchasing a bottle as well as the dusting powder. We then turned around to a wonderful young man greeting us with a smile at the Le Labo counter, who introduced me to several scents, and after trying on one, he said to go ahead and do our shopping in the mall, let it settle and if I like come back because he didn't want to sell us something unless I really liked it. I returned and purchased a 1.7 oz bottle of Myrrhe 55. It wasn't just the fragrances that resulted in my purchases, but the outstanding, welcoming, friendly service I received and the sales reps willing to sell their products. All which lacked at the Bloomingdale counter. The cashier, who had another couple walk away before us empty handed, and another couple she ignored after us, needs better training, and she needs to ditch the snoody attitude because at the end of the day, there isn't much that may fall into her category, on her salary, there at Bloomingdale's. read more

Restaurant on the patio is SURPRISINGLY GREAT !! If you haven't been here on a sunny day, then you are in for a real treat! We were shocked at how many delicious menu items they can offer from such a small kitchen. They really take pride in the preparation of their dishes so that the quality has been consistent every time we've been there. Once we discovered it, about seven months ago, we kept going on a regular basis, and have never been disappointed. The service at lunchtime has been excellent every single time we've been there. They are relaxed and welcoming, and even allow dogs on the patio, while keeping it a clean and bistro like environment. The salads are my favorite, but their Panini sandwiches and wraps were popular with our guests. We have even taken business clients there, and they were so surprised at the quality of the food and generous portions, not to mention the ambience. I hope this wonderful gem doesn't get overcrowded by this popular review, but I also hope it stays here forever with the same great staff and quality chef. read more

Love this store for my wife and daughters. They always have a great selection of cocktail dresses and the Sales ladies that work there are awesome. HOWEVER, the changing rooms are beyond disgusting. They smell like a combination of jungle rot and B.O. It literally made my wife and I sick to our stomachs while she was trying on clothes.. The Worst! I used to Love this location. There was 1 associate who was beyond helpful. She was new, kind & smart and went way out of her way to try and help my situation with two orders that were canceled by Bloomingdale's because I used a "third party credit card"... my credit card. I went into the store thinking they could help. I could not have been more wrong. Not a single other associate could have cared less especially some tall guy named Dave, supposedly a store manager yikes, and another cosmetic manager with long dark hair, that they had working to field issues like mine, She acted like I was the problem from the get go and like Dave Didn't listen and would ask the same question over and over and over again to no avail but both had some uninterested glazed look in their eyes. How either of them has a job I have no idea but they are stuck in that dead-end place. Never again, I even called to close my bloomies credit card. Sincere good luck to the woman upstairs, she was lovely ,hopefully she doesn't stay at the store very long and become jaded & apathetic like the rest of them. And on a sidenote the customers here think that there issues are most important even when I was in the middle of a conversation with an associate. 3 separate times customers barging in and asking for help while I'm being helped. I have purchased a high end sunglasses it broke after a few months I did not get to it in time and after a couple of months I called to request a screw since my local optical store could not fix it. FIVE STAR EXPERIENCE!! Went shopping for My boyfriend for Valentine's Day gifts, and had no idea where to start, but was greeted quickly and kindly by Salesman Max Watkins. He immediately asked me if I needed help and definitely knew what he was talking about!! We walked in and saw a little stand with sanitizer and masks for customers to use and I thought great that would be nice after touching the doors and using a mask they provided to practice public safety. I will never shop at Bloomingdale's again. I'll try to make this review as short as possible. My cousin had given my mom a gift card several years ago. I don't remember the exact amount, but I believe it was around $300. I wanted my mom to use the gift card so I took her to this location. After my mom picked out some items, she tried to use the card and the cashier was taking a while to process the payment. Minutes later, I see a couple of ladies who were the managers approach us. I believe I was speaking to the store manager, but she did not offer an introduction. She said that she had made an attempt to call their customer service department to find a record of our gift card but they couldn't find anything. To paraphrase, she said we must not have done something right because they don't have any record of it. She asked if we had a receipt, but back when my mom received the card, people didn't typically give receipts with gift cards because the gift card was supposed to be all you needed. At that moment, my mind was spinning because I just couldn't believe that this gift card could have just vaporized. From my perspective, it was as good as money. I asked if it's possible that the store had been bought out or merged with another company and maybe the card was lost in their database system. She informed me with a smug look that they are still under the same ownership and shook her head. At this point, I was just so angry but I managed to ask if there's any other possibility. She informed me that there is not. I know she didn't come out and say it, but it felt the same as if she was insinuating that we stole the card and tried to use it. After leaving the store, I was totally unsatisfied with the answer I was given. I went online to search for how things like this could happen, and I came across this relevant article from ABC news https://abcnews.go.com/Business/gift-card-lose/story?id=45100635. I felt somewhat vindicated, but I started to wonder how a store manager was not aware of this type of situation. If she had blamed criminal activity for the loss of the card, I would have felt much better than having her make us feel like the criminals. A month later, my brother came to visit, and he said he would like to give Bloomingdales a call. He said that they found the card number in the archives, but their customer service didn't know how to handle the situation so they would give him a call back. Guess what? No call back. I can't be the only person who has been treated this way by this company. I refuse to support a company that does not know how to handle a situation like this and was not able to protect their customers. Shame on this store. Really shame on this brand. My wife purchased a pair shoes at the store. They did not have her size so they offered to send her a pair of Clara shoes by express mail. She received a pair of used loafers in another model. Used and smelly. Then we call the call center. Spoke to Daniel Id number 91153690. Not only he was disrespectful also he did not apologize properly. He wanted just to receive back the wrong shoe. Process again the new order and done. Fine in a normal situation, but this is not normal. After 10 days we received a pair of used loafers in the correct box. This all happened after my wife was convinced to open a credit card for a good deal and for "vip" status with benefits. Guess what. It was not. Shame on Bloomingdales. I will update this with more since wife spoke with someone at the store and they will try to fix it. Still shame on them. And especially on Daniel. read more
