We loved all the thoughtful touches in our room--from the welcome cheesecake and strawberries to the snacks, drinks, Keurig with a wide selection of coffee and tea, warming eye masks, quality toiletries, and bubble bath. Our room featured an adjustable king bed and a large jacuzzi tub, and the bed was the most comfortable we've slept in on our trip. After dinner, we enjoyed relaxing on the front porch, strolling through the quiet historic neighborhood, and spending time in the beautiful secret garden beneath the old trees. Breakfast the next morning was absolutely delicious and served at the time we requested. The Chestnut Cottage is more than just a place to stay--it's a place where you feel genuinely cared for. We left feeling refreshed, grateful, and already looking forward to our next visit.

We informed the owners and they headed out to free the little guy. There's plenty to see, including interesting farm equipment. They have a gift shop and café on site as well. We stopped in the café for some dessert to take back home with us and we bought a bunch of handmade soaps from the gift shop. This is a place you would want to visit with the kids or even come with some adult friends for a bite to eat but make sure you find out the café's operating times as they are limited.

If you're in Sumter, the 1912 Bed and Breakfast is a lovely alternative to a cookie cutter hotel room!
