We had booked a private tour for his birthday to meet the rescue animals who call this beautiful place home. Yasmin met us at the entrance and, after swapping shoes for some solid boots, gave us a very honest, very real, and very important rundown of industrial agriculture. Now, I have to add, neither of us are vegan or even vegetarian, but Yasmin proved to be an actively non judgmental, compassionate host. She walked us through the grounds, addressing each animal by name, and was full of knowledge and insight! After the initial meet and greet, we were off! We hiked across the beautiful grounds and met tons of sheep (Jet loved my partner!) goats, and pigs; all of the animals roam freely, coming and going as they please. It was actually delightful how so many of the animals came up to say hi and hang out out of their own volition! We brought some grapes for the chickens and they LOVED them! But oh my god, the turkeys. Wow, just, two little friendly, fluffy orbs that floated around our party showing off while Yasmin gave us an informed and empathetic story about them. She did that at every habitat; letting us in, introducing us (by name!) to the boldest of the bunch, and explaining how they ended up at Animal Place. It was an entirely wonderful, enlightening experience. Also, fyi, turkeys are so soft. I cannot recommend this organization enough. 10/10, please give Conrad an extra treat for me!

I have prayed on this over & over again I cannot stay silent…read more The smell was appalling as soon as I walked in to start with, I was there to meet a dog I was told was young, I had recently lost a senior rescue & my heart can not take loosing another baby in a few years. The right hand doesn't know what the left hands doing. I left ,prayed & decided to call bc I had seen the senior baby I met was still there. Well in comes GAYLE she answered the phone with attitude was rude & wouldn't let me get a word in edge wise. I asked to speak to someone else bc apparently she was having a bad day & she proceeded to tell me she was the senior person on staff & has dealt with this b4, I was floored bc she had no clue what I was even asking. Shame ,shame on this kind of customer Service. I'm mourning my dog & have a home for a baby to be treated like this & be talked dwn to or place $ in front of questions is horrific, she needs to be evaluated are they in it for $ or to be right ,or do they really care to find these babys homes.

I can't say enough good things about this spot. These animals are seriously living their best lives. Not only do they rescue animals and give them a happy life, but they also educate the public and offer resources to students who otherwise didn't have any. This is the epitome of doing good. They also accept uncarved, unpainted pumpkins that you might have leftover from decorating during fall. The animals eat them and it's SO CUTE. Sally Welch, the owner and kitty-caretaker extraordinaire, was a great help in organizing Billy's adjustment to my home, allowing me to foster him first to make sure he got along well with my spazzy little female, Knuckles. Within a month, they began cuddling, and now they sandwich me at night and roll around like dervishes, play-fighting. Billy is such a butterball of love; I don't know what Knuckles and I would do without him! Sally does this work completely from the heart, and I am very glad to have supported this organization. When we went to meet her, we fell in love at first sight. The toy poodle we had just lost at age 17, had been sired by a Zamora poodle. We knew she was extremely careful with her breeding.
