We have 5 Maine coon cats so it started to become a hassle to bring them to the vet for just a regular check up. We called Dr Paula and she scheduled with us the following week, which was great. The ease our cats felt with their check-ups was amazing and totally relieving and stress-free for us, as fur baby parents. That said, the biggest benefit we got from this was finding out one of our cats was in a dire health situation and we didn't even know. He didn't show symptoms of distress or unwellness. She noticed his hard stomach and was able to direct us on what to do next, to the point where she saved his life. I found Dr. Paula through Yelp when I was looking for a vet to do bloodwork on my 15 year old fur daughter because she started to have seizures. With my Free being a nervous dog and having trouble with her hind legs, I thought, why not have the mobile vet service come to our home. They were able to examine her and did a few x-rays in their vet mobile which I was impressed. Dr. Paula was able to show and explain Free's x-ray with me on-site. The following day, Dr. Paula contacted me to give me results of Free's lab work and found that she had an UTI. Dr. Paula contacted the pharmacy and started her on some antibiotics and I scheduled her for a follow-up appointment to re-check her urine. Before her follow-up, Free had another seizure and within a couple of days, my dog's health started to deteriorate quickly, I knew it was time to have my dog euthanized. I called early Friday morning and they were able to come out later that day. They showed compassion during this difficult time and I'm glad I was able to have this done in my home where my dog felt most comfortable. I felt a lot better knowing she was at home with the family that loves her. Dr. Paula and Leslee made the whole process easy for me; where I was able find peace within myself knowing that my girl knew I was there with her till the end. They gave us some time to be alone with her where we can say our good-byes and tell her how much of a great dog she was and how much we will miss her. They also took care of arranging the cremation and told me that I will have Free's ashes back to me in a few weeks. While we wait for Free's ashes to be returned to us, we plan to plant a new tree on our front yard with Free's ashes to remember her. I had to make the one of the hardest decisions in my life up until now and say "goodbye" to my sweet dog. I had done research and taken referrals of vets who would come to my home when the time came. I feel like my dog gave me the past 6 months to prepare and every time I thought it might be the time I would do a little bit more research for a vet who had good yelp reviews and who I thought, just by website, and photo, would be a good fit. I came across Dr. Paula many months back. I knew that when the time came she was possibly going to be one of two vets that I wanted to choose. A few weeks back, I knew it was time for me to make the decision, so I went back to her yelp page, read all the reviews, visited her website, and finally reached out. I immediately got an email back, which was then followed up by a phone call. We spoke over the phone and she was just the right mix of comforting and professional. When we hung up I knew I was going to go with her. My dog mommy instincts were right on. I emailed her back shortly after and she was so very kind in answering all my questions and when the day came she showed up on time along with her tech Leslee and made my sweet girls transition so very very peaceful. Throughout her visit, Dr. Paula would explain things, she was so extremely patient and compassionate through it all. Not too much, not too little. I don't know how to else to explain it. She has this calm way about her and Leslee her Tech/Asst. was the same way. If you ever have to make this tough decision I highly recommend having it done at home. 5 stars are simply not enough... My wife and I cannot recommend Dr. Paula enough. Her and her assistant, Leslie, have the most wonderful bed-side manner. They are professional and personable. Dr. Paula returns calls and gives you outstanding personal attention. We recently had to have them come by to put our cat of 15 1/2 years, Fifi, down after kidney failure. They helped make the painful decision as comfortable as possible. They always handled our Fifi with respect and kindness, even though Fifi never responded in kind! Dr. Paula is great. My rescue cat had an ear infection, and I didn't want to take her to the vet because she doesn't like other cats and didn't want my baby to be uncomfortable. Dr. Paula came that same day to my place, and, with her assistant, they cleaned my cat's ears, helped me order prescription food for my senior cat (that had omega 3 fatty acids), and they gave me an antibiotic drop to put in my cat's ears for 7 days. They were friendly, professional, skilled, and it was a perfect success. I will only call Dr. Paula for all of my cat's needs. They were sweet to my cat, gentle, everything I wanted in a vet. OMG Dr Paula saved my cat from surgery! I had taken my cat to a non-mobile vet who wanted to do surgery. But I delayed scheduling the surgery because I did not want to put my cat through the trauma. The bump kept growing, however, so I looked for another answer and found Dr Paula. What a God-send!!!! Her approach was to do some investigating work to see what it was before deciding what to do. That paid off. It turned out to be a fluid-filled cyst that Dr. Paula drained in about a minute... in my own home... no stress to the cat!!! And Dr. Paula and her assistant were so nice. I have 4 furbabies and it is such a lifesaver to have a mobile vet (for the vaccinations alone!) My cats are deathly afraid of outside vet visits so this makes things totally stress free! 1. Have you ever taken a frantic cat to a veterinarian? Have you ever tried to get that cat inside the carrier first, all four limbs splayed out while said cat's body is simultaneously turning it's head to bite you? It goes without saying that you've tried trickery first. Cat treats. String. Fake bird sounds. Avoid the agony and despair by calling Dr. Paula. 2. She essentially saved my cat Lefty. He was suffering from what seemed a UTI. Within 24 hours, she arrived to administer an examination, an antibiotic, and free samples of special food. He got better, then he got worse. I was so worried that I ended up taking him to a local vet's office (see #1 above) and $500 later, he was supposed to be a new man after 7 days' worth of various drugs. He seemed to get better, then he got worse. It was Dr. Paula who figured out that the drugs had probably made him constipated. Murilax! ($7.99). Problem solved (and the problem was solved over the phone). This is not to bash the local vet - Lefty did indeed test positive for urinary crystals, but the bottom line is that it was Dr. Paula who gets the credit for healing Lefty and saving my sanity. 3. Reasonable priced. 4. Really great bedside manner - and I don't mean just for your animals. It's always a plus to have a doctor tell you - the concerned animal lover and paying customer - what's going on with your furry children in clear and understandable terms. It was LESS expensive and much easier than rounding up the dogs to go into an office. Dr. Paula actually cares about your pet. We called her to get treatment for two of our three dogs and were able to get an appointment within about an hour and a half. Dr. Paula and her staff were friendly, thorough and even treated our third dog. On top of that, she had a coloring book to keep our son entertained, and left us with a goodie bag for our dogs. You can tell when someone loves their job because, not only are they good at it, they're prepared, are willing to come to you to do it, and cut out all the unnecessary bs in order to make things easier on the patient and the owner. Our precious 14 year old flat coat lab, Daisy, suddenly became ill and needed medical attention. I found Dr. Paula's mobile service through YELP. The empathy, kindness, knowledge, and care in diagnosing her condition was beyond our expectations. Our Daisy was clearly very ill. Dr. Paula gave us many options to confirm a diagnosis. She has very clear about the costs of blood work, X-rays, and ultrasounds, and discussed the benefits of each. With full confidence, we made our decision to do blood work. This is an extremely overdue review, but it must be said that Dr. Paula saved our dog. His QOL was declining due to severe matting (not by choice, my geriatric 17 year old dog is extremely aggressive when it comes to grooming). Most mobile vets in our rural area only serve farm animals so it was challenging to find a mobile vet for our dog. Luckily, we found Dr. Paula and her mobile veterinary service which was exactly what we needed when our older Great Pyrenees suddenly stopped being able to use his back legs. We called and left a message and received a response within the hour. Not only was she prompt to reply, she came out to our house the same day and provided exceptional care on site. She performed an exam, determined that his back had gone out, he needed some pain management to be able to move comfortably, and was able to administer medication to him right there. She even clipped his nails! Both Dr. Paula and her assistant vet tech were kind and incredibly competent and the services were much more affordable than going in to a vet clinic. I honestly cannot say enough amazing things about Dr. Paula. I found her your guessed it right here on Yelp. Our sweet angel Woody was 15 and had gotten very ill very fast she came to the house and did her exam on him outside on the patio his favorite place. She also was able to do blood work and get us the results that day before she left. Unfortunately Woody was in kidney failure and just nothing we could do for our sweet boy, we just were not ready so she taught me how to give him IV's and left one with us she came out a week later to help us with letting him go. It was the hardest day but she made it as easy as possible. We have another dog and she made sure she was ok as well. Dr. Paula and her amazing assistant never rushed us and made sure we understood the process and made sure Woody was as comfortable as he could be. When it is time for his sister to join him there is no one else I would call but Dr. Paula. She even checked in on us all afterward she isn't just a vet she is someone who cares as much for your animals as you do and it shows through everything she does.
