Thank you Dr. Paula and Leslee for being gentle with my fur-baby. 8/10/02 - 10/26/17
Ame S.

I found Dr. Paula through Yelp when I was looking for a vet to do bloodwork on my 15 year old fur daughter because she started to have seizures. With my Free being a nervous dog and having trouble with her hind legs, I thought, why not have the mobile vet service come to our home. They were able to examine her and did a few x-rays in their vet mobile which I was impressed. Dr. Paula was able to show and explain Free's x-ray with me on-site. The following day, Dr. Paula contacted me to give me results of Free's lab work and found that she had an UTI. Dr. Paula contacted the pharmacy and started her on some antibiotics and I scheduled her for a follow-up appointment to re-check her urine. Before her follow-up, Free had another seizure and within a couple of days, my dog's health started to deteriorate quickly, I knew it was time to have my dog euthanized. I called early Friday morning and they were able to come out later that day. They showed compassion during this difficult time and I'm glad I was able to have this done in my home where my dog felt most comfortable. I felt a lot better knowing she was at home with the family that loves her. Dr. Paula and Leslee made the whole process easy for me; where I was able find peace within myself knowing that my girl knew I was there with her till the end. They gave us some time to be alone with her where we can say our good-byes and tell her how much of a great dog she was and how much we will miss her. They also took care of arranging the cremation and told me that I will have Free's ashes back to me in a few weeks. While we wait for Free's ashes to be returned to us, we plan to plant a new tree on our front yard with Free's ashes to remember her. I thank you from the bottom of my heart Dr. Paula and Leslee, you ladies are awesome, very professional with compassion. I highly recommend Dr. Paula's Mobile Veterinary Service.

If I could give 100 stars, I would. I called Dr Paula 3x to come euthanize my 18 year old dog. I canceled the first two times, because it just didn't seem like it was Palmer's time to go. I offered to pay them for their time, because I canceled twice and they declined the offer. Dr Paula said she knows how difficult it is and they would be there when we were ready. When we finally decided, they came and were SO kind hearted and gentle. They gave us as much time as needed and were very comforting. Thank you for helping us with such a very difficult decision. Thank you as well for your kindness.

Dr. Paula, thank you for your professionalism and compassion. We cannot express our gratitude for your services during our time of need.

Most mobile vets in our rural area only serve farm animals so it was challenging to find a mobile vet for our dog.

The staff handled everything with such care and compassion and very competitive price . Just this week I had to take my 14 year old little Chaweenie in on emergency and I really thought I was about to lose her too ... But they handled her issue with such care and accuracy that she's home and so far doing great ! Also super competitive priced on her care too ( I guarantee from experience, if I would have had to drive her down to Loomis basin I would have paid at least 3 times what I did and without the care and compassion )

We started going to Mother Lode in 2003 up to last year. Some time back one of our four dogs…read morestarted limping in the right rear leg. I went there and the vet took him in for an X-ray and came back out to tell me he had a torn meniscus and booked a surgery date for $4,500. The next day he quit limping. I got two other vet's opinion (Dr. Strolle and Dr. Barker) and that was a torn meniscus does not show on an X-ray. I then Googled and found the same thing: one cannot see a meniscus tear on a standard X-ray. Because the meniscus is made of soft tissue and cartilage, it does not absorb X-ray beams like bone does, leaving it invisible on the film. I called and canceled the fraudulent surgery. One of our dogs had a problem with his ear and they wanted $1,000 to sedate him. Had it done for $500 elsewhere and they checked both ears. Then one needed to have a tooth pulled. Mother Lode wanted $2,200 and we got it done elsewhere for $500 including a teeth cleaning. Some of the people there are rude and they do not respond to emails as I wanted to express my concerns to an owner. Since Dr. Tim and Erin left and he sold the business to Vetcor, it has gone way downhill. Incidentally, some years back Dr. Tim amputated the right front leg of our Doberman for $900 - Loomis wanted $2,000. It seems many vets are charging exorbitant fees and many pay it as there's no other options except to shop around as we did. No wonder there are so many dogs in shelters - people cannot afford dogs anymore.

They were both misdiagnosed at their previous vet and have thrived from the care at Pine Creek. I also find their prices quite affordable for how often I'm in there but more than that I feel like they love my pets as much as I do and they're in good hands. I recently did a dental procedure on my cat who also has a heart condition. To say I was nervous was an understatement but they answered all my questions about medications and his heart and I felt completely safe taking him in. During the procedure, they kept me updated on his progress and their findings and he did great, healed up quickly and is just fine now. I think the best thing is that they are open Monday-Saturday 8-6pm because it gives me peace of mind. One of the biggest downsides to living in this area is not having a 24 hour ER vet nearby but knowing my vet is open until 6 even on Saturdays eases my mind a little bit. I actually found Pine Creek because I was watching my parent's dog years ago and something happened but the vet she went to was closing at 5 and wouldn't see her even though it was only 4:45pm. They told me Pine Creek was open until 6pm and when I called they got her right in and we were there until around 8pm. Not only did they help her for what I brought her in for but they told me about a new drug on the market for arthritis in dogs that my parents ended up trying and it seemed to really help her in her last few years. I will always highly recommend Pine Creek.

Dr Mikhaela is the only reason my circus is still running! She is the definition of professional--competent, incredibly thorough, and remarkably responsive when things go sideways. It is rare to find someone who is as brilliant as she is kind, and she takes wonderful care of every creature on my property. HOWEVER, she failed to disclose that she detected the presence of a Mast Cell Tumor near the surgical site that presented extreme risk, and failed to disclose additional masses detected in other limbs that would have disqualified Mia as a candidate for amputation surgery. Instead, I was told that Mia's other limbs were arthritic but healthy and of no concern. All 3rd party veterinarians who have now reviewed the case have stated that it was unethical and never should have been performed based on this concealed information and Mia's age. It has become clear after reading the statements of the state medical board complaint FILED BY HER OWN EMPLOYEES that she knew alternative treatments would not be profitable for HER, so she coerced us into the $6,000 surgery. Dr. Barker has been overheard by staff members saying that she "only wants cash cow clients", clearly demonstrating that her decision making processes are completely financially motivated, not ethically motivated. - Dr. Barker withheld the fact that a surgery of this caliber was beyond her professional abilities and that her facility lacked the necessary resources to manage any complications. - Prior to surgery, Dr. Barker's staff repeatedly expressed their concerns over the ethics of the surgery and whether Dr. Barker should be attempting it at all. She ignored these concerns. - On the day of surgery, Dr. Barker stated to her staff repeatedly that she shouldn't be doing the surgery as she recognized it in the moment to be beyond her abilities. She chose to attempt the surgery anyway. - Dr. Barker started the surgery, cut Mia open, then panicked, left Mia hemorrhaging on the operating table for 45+ minutes while she then called in an outside surgeon to come to her facility to complete the procedure. Mia lost a lot of blood during this time. None of this information was disclosed to me. Instead, I was told "the surgery went very well and there were no complications or concerns." - After the 2nd surgeon completed the procedure, Mia failed to return to consciousness and her heart rate remained elevated to 220+ BPM with falling blood pressure for over 3 hours. I was never contacted during this time. I had to just show up to the facility out of gut feeling that something was wrong to learn this. - Dr. Barker told her staff that she recognized Mia's post-operative condition as critical and that she needed to be immediately transferred to another facility to save her life. None of this was communicated to me until after I had been at the facility for close to an hour, costing us precious time. She also failed to disclose to me that she told her staff that Mia would need a life saving blood transfusion due to blood loss after she abandoned the surgery. - I asked Dr. Barker repeatedly why this was happening - she failed to disclose any of these details and just said "I don't know." - I was then forced to put my dying dog on a stretcher into the back of my truck and drive her over an hour through rush hour traffic to attempt to save her life. By the time we reached the other facility she was in very critical condition. She died hours later. - I returned to FTLOP days later to ask Dr. Barker again what had happened. She continued to conceal the truth and pretend that nothing out of the ordinary had occurred during Mia's surgery. She also stated to her staff "I'm worried about what's going to happen if he finds out the truth."... - HER ENTIRE STAFF OF 10 PEOPLE WALKED OUT ON THEIR JOBS JUST DAYS BEFORE CHRISTMAS and filed a complaint with the state medical board due to these events. All statements here are taken directly from that complaint and my direct interactions with her. FB: Justice For Mia Meatball

We have a very dramatic (and wonderfully stubborn) senior Doberman that we rescued seven years ago. Nail trims used to be a nightmare because he refused to let anyone touch his feet, which often meant expensivevet visits and sedation just to get his nails clipped. Having Dr. Stacy come to our home eliminated so much of that stress, for both us and our dog. But what truly impressed me was how she helped us finally solve his chronic ear infections. We had been spending $400+ at our previous veterinary clinic every month or two treating recurring infections, only to learn that the underlying issue was never really being addressed. Dr. Stacy took the time to educate us on what was actually happening, how to prevent future infections, and how to properly care for his ears. Thanks to her guidance, he's been ear infection-free for months and is so much happier and more comfortable. She has also helped us better understand the needs of our aging dog and guided us toward a more effective care plan overall. At 10 years old, he's thriving. He walks around like the regal gentleman he believes he is, and I feel confident knowing he's comfortable, happy, and not suffering. What I appreciate most about Dr. Stacy is that she genuinely treats your pets like they are her priority. She has no problem getting down on the floor, squeezing into a bathroom closet, or working wherever she needs to in your home to make your animal feel safe and comfortable. Her compassion, knowledge, and willingness to meet pets where they are is something special. The convenience of having veterinary care at home is incredible, but Dr. Stacy herself is what makes the experience exceptional. I can honestly say every experience we've had has been positive, professional, and centered around what's best for the animal. There's a reason so many families speak so highly of her, and we are incredibly grateful to be among them. We feel completely spoiled having her care for our animals, and I truly cannot recommend her highly enough! The peace of mind she has given our family is something I will always be grateful for.
