What an amazing experience. I came here for my first blowout Saturday for a wedding. My hair is…read morelong and thick. I asked for something hot and sexy, blown out of my face. Very thick, volumized and teased. Gianna accomplished just that, that is my girl. Nobody take her. She knew what she was doing. She pinned all the sides, did a nice blowout. I will definitely be back. I live in Powell and was wanting to checkout the Dublin location but Dublin and Easton were all booked. It ended up working out I had to go to Grandview. I appreciate all your hard work, Gianna. I was in and out in less than an hour, she absolutely killed it. It was very fancy, clean and nice inside. I got the package where it's 7 blowouts for $360. You know your girl can't pass up a good deal! She was able to handle my bluntness and perfectionism very well lol. I know I can be direct and have high standards. But I like my hair and experience done right! She did just that!

It was set on a counter and I wasn't sure if it was for me or not being my first time in. The scalp massage was lovely. The cleansing gel made my scalp tingle and was really cooling. The time in a wash chair was really nice. They gave me a blanket and an eye mask. The music was good and they had a movie playing to watch. I got the blowout too so I didn't have to leave with wet hair in the cold. The blowout looked nice. Unfortunately, the scalp treatment didn't last more than a day and the blowout is nice but I am not that kind of person to keep a hairstyle looking nice for several days. I am not sure the point of a blowout bar personally and the price was expensive for the treatment not lasting more than 24 hours. The technicians were really nice though, and the scalp massage was delightful.

I paid 57 bucks plus tip for this "cut." Once the next appointment showed up, mine was put on fast forward and I was shooed out the door - but not before trying to sell me a bunch of stuff. My hair cut had more lines than a movie script. Also, there was no fade. Just short hair. The hair wash was very nice. When I went back so that they could "fix" the previous attempt, I wasn't charged - though I kinda felt like they shoulda paid me! I'd go there again if you drove and paid for the first cut, and the following "fix it" cuts.

I was ready for a big change! Skylar was amazing and completely surprised me with her recommendations. After learning I would be traveling to Vegas soon, she said I should wait on coloring it so it wouldn't fade in the sun. We also had a long conversation where I discovered the conditioners I was using were too heavy. I was doing too much for my type of hair. She gave me so much layering and body, while lightening the weight. My hair is so much easier to manage now and looks 100 times better. She could have colored my hair and charged me more, but instead told me what i needed. I can't thank her enough! I will definitely book her for all my future appointments. 1 before pic and 2 after pics

I was excited to find another place that offers curly cuts/Deva cuts and thought this could be a great alternative when in need. They got me in within a week for a curly cut with a woman who I'll refer to as "J". J had good reviews on yelp so I gladly accepted the appt. Upon arriving, I told her that I only wanted a dusting and she even agreed that my hair was very healthy and barely needed trimmed. I explained that I'll be getting highlights in the next few months and that i don't want to cut too much right now because I'd plan on cutting after the highlight appt (due to the damage processing can do to our curls). She acted like she understood (or At least i took it that way) and she spent about 10-15 mins cutting my hair. I felt like she was cutting a lot but couldn't see from the chair to the mirror (plus the lighting was very dim) so i didn't know for sure. I opted for no wash/style after the cut because i was just kind of bothered by the whole thing. I got up to look at my cut and saw way more hair than I'd expected on the floor. I said "wow, you cut a lot of hair off" and she replied with saying "you have a lot of hair". I didn't think that much more of it at the time until I got home and saw how much shorter my hair really was. While I don't think the actual cut itself looks terrible, I'm very upset by how J completely disregarded my wishes and cut a good 3"+ off my hair. Other curly girls will especially understand why it's so upsetting to have a stylist unexpectedly cut off so much hair. Growing curly hair is a lot of work and i think a lot of us struggle to get to a length we're comfortable with. Thankfully, I was able to get in with my usual salon to fix and re-shape my hair this week. J seemed like a nice person but obviously not a good listener. Plus, to completely disregard a clients wishes is unprofessional in my opinion. I'll include some before and after shots. ** Update: While having this hair "trim" fixed by my usual salon, they noticed that J ruined all the layers that had been in my hair. Where there should be long layers, there were some of the shortest. It was all backwards. So now I'm questioning if J truly knows how to cut hair? Or was she just incredibly careless with me? We had to do damage control and cut more just to even out the damage she did to my shape. I wish I would've known that a simple trim would turn into a huge haircut. I would've better mentally prepared myself.

Keeping in the spirit of supporting the school and the students I am giving four stars but I do think there are a few things that would be good for people to know ahead of time if you are planning on coming here. First the good. You can't beat the prices but you definitely get what you pay for. They use amazing, high quality, and phenomenal smelling Aveda products and I found the hair washing and mini facial experience super relaxing. My student was super sweet as well as the one that helped her. However, the entire process took over three hours which I did not anticipate and ended up looking nothing like the picture I showed. It's not to say it looked bad. They were all saying how pretty it looked, although I asked for loose waves and result was almost a 40's style pin curl look that is just so not me. Some constructive feedback if this is read, although I'm not a hairstylist by any means, Is that because my hair is curly, frizzy, and textured, if you wait until it's too dry to blow dry it, it will be hard to get the frizz out. You need to put the product in when it's wet, and blow it dry. This does not seem to be an option here, because the students have to have their supervisors check to make sure they washed their clients hair properly. Also, to get loose beach waves with a flat iron, you use bigger pieces of hair and it doesn't take near as long and it doesn't end up so curly and puffy. To get the ends flat like I requested, instead of wrapping the end, you flick your wrist let go a bit, and pull at the end. I wanted to say this during the service but I know they are working long hours and just doing their best. I'm a little conflicted on even writing this, but I don't think I was asking for anything complicated. I did not expect the quality to be as good as the more expensive chains but I guess I thought it would be better than my own abilities since I lack professional training. Maybe I'm taking my own skills and other hairstylists for granted idk. I was able to just take a quick shower when I got home and redo it, but I don't think I would chance a color or cut because it's not such an easy fix if you get someone inexperienced in that area. I also could not imagine spending any more than three hours there. This is a great place if you have the time, are on a budget and aren't too picky about your hair. It is an also wonderful way to support students and help them learn. It's just not for me, as my child free time off work is limited. It may also be helpful to put estimated times on the service menus to help potential clients gage expectations prior to booking.
