Let me tell you, it had been a minute since my last cut. Actually it had been well over a year and a half! Did I hate how my hair had grown out in that (seriously ridiculous) length of time? Nope, because my regular stylist at Rendezvous has mad skills and gets my fine straight as heck hair. The cut grew marvelously but I was tired of zipping hair in my jacket or pulling my own hair. At the start of March I had enough of the long hair & scheduled an appointment. (I love that you are now able to schedule cuts/other services online!) I am relatively laissez-faire when it comes to my hair. I wash it every handful of days, brush it on occasion, and maybe once every two months blow dry it. I don't style it or use products beyond dry shampoo. I let my hair live its life as it wants to and try not to force it to do anything. Heck the location of my part even changes occasionally based on how it wants to be. I need a stylist that hears that, gets it, and creates art around those things. For me, Jess at Rendezvous is that person. In the weeks preceding my appointment I looked at all sorts of hair cuts & trends to see what I might want to do. I went in for my appointment with probably the worst explanation of what I was thinking hair wise. Something to the effect of 'you know how folks are blending two different cuts together' (think like the bixie/mixie/versions of mullets etc that have been popping up all over). Then I went into 'what about the bob coming back?'. I also let Jess know that I'm still just as lazy when it comes to styling as I've always been. Well Jess, who's legit a hair artist, made some art from my rambling. Jess fixed me up with a sweet layered lob that frames my face oh so nicely. The layering really brings body into this relative stick straight fine hair. It's the perfect length too! I am able to still pull it back with just a few face framing whispys not contained. Bonus: I'm two days post cut, and have yet to shampoo it myself but thanks to dry shampoo it's still looking fly as heck. read more

I haven't been able to find a hair stylist I trust in YEARS. Erin did an incredible job. Talked me through my hair - what I want and don't want - she knew how to work with my thick wavy hair. I never style my hair so I got nervous looking at it blown out so I need her to know it was not how she did it!! Lol i am a man when it comes to styling my hair . Wet it and leave. Unfortunately I lost my original review. I had done some research before going to Rendezvous. Looked at ratings and reviews, etc.. I was much impressed by the positive reviews and description of the 'edgy' salon. Definitely my kind of place! As I have a somewhat long beard I was also encouraged by one reviewer who said that Jess does an excellent job with beard trims. Long story short, I made an appointment and have not looked back since! Initially just hair and beard trim (with Jess, excellent job). I had been thinking of coloring my hair but was not quite yet ready to go all the way. Made an appointment with Jess who put colored streaks in my hair. I was very happy with it and after I became comfortable with it decided to go all the way. So glad I did. I am delighted with the result. The other day I was in Kroger's walking down an aisle. A guy caught up with me and complimented me on my colored hair. He was probably in his 40's or 50's (I am older than that!). Said that he always wanted to have blue hair but he never had the balls to do it. Made me feel real cool! If I can encourage people to be more adventurous that would be awesome. I was always somewhat reticent and tended to 'conform'. It is so nice to feel free to express myself. My advice to others - do what you want, it is 2018, don't be afraid to be an individual. read more

A unique, talent filled salon. Puck always does an amazing job no matter the cut, dye, etc. They always listen to what I say and then communicate back to me how to achieve those results. They are always honest and explain what they are doing as they do it, which I LOVE. Puck also makes sure I'm comfortable with my final result and is willing to try new things and play around with techniques to meet my Pinterest-esq hair dreams. Also, the salon is adorable and uniquely decorated. They keep top of the line product in stock and they will give you honest recommendations and SHOW you how to use the product(s), which is important. There is parking on the street and in the back of the salon. They offer you coffee/tea/water too which is a nice touch, and they have fresh flowers at the checkout & plants through the salon. read more

I've been going to Audrey at Rendezvous for about a year and a half now and I've never not walked away satisfied! The entire salon is beautiful, clean, and staffed with some amazing individuals. They do fantastic cuts, colors, and styles. I moved from living nearby to the complete other end of town however I still make the trek down there instead of moving to a closer salon- it's worth it. A side note that some of the prices I feel are a little higher than other salons in the city HOWEVER they're worth it due to the skills of the stylists. read more
