I received my first blowout ever by Beni at this location and I've been chasing the high of how fabulous he made my hair look ever since. He was the first, the best, and I can't seem to find anyone else to do the same level of expertise that he did. I wanted big sexy hair would bouncy curls and he 100% delivered and gave me amazing hair. It lasted up to 6 days and maintained the curl very well. He didn't use any hairspray (I don't like hairspray), just good quality products that made such a difference. He is the only one that used like 15 round brushes in my hair to give it that amazing curl - no other younger stylist I've seen since has done this technique and it clearly shows and matters. He is worth the price, which I find extremely reasonable. If I lived in Toronto, I would 100% get Beni-blowouts every week. I cannot shutup about what a good job he did and ever stylist I've seen since, once I show them the picture of my hair, they come close but they never achieve what he achieved. Every time I'm in Toronto, BEST BELIEVE, I'm making an appointment with Beni. He was super nice too and I was in and out in less than an hour, which is amazing given I have a lot of hair. Nice blow out ! I was in Canada for a wedding so I got a blowout for the wedding. The cows were very professional and on time they took their time I got a nice head massage nobody hurt me and my hair looked beautiful afterwards. It was also less expensive than that blow dry lounge which had horrible reviews where my friends were going to go but they ended up canceling. When I left I thought oh this isn't going to last because it was windy and as heck but it was also hot so I was sweating but remarkably this thing lasted for over a week!! VIBE Blowdry Lounge is in a small space tucked away on Yonge south of St. Clair. Unlike its competitors, you can get a hair cut here. And Beni is the best. The BEST! No fuss. No muss. I felt completely at home the moment I talked to him. He brings you in as his own immediately. One of the NICEST guys I've met in the biz. THE SERVICE I had a certificate for a blow dry, so I used it and also got a hair cut. In an hour and a half, I felt like I knew Beni for about 3 years but also he knew what I wanted and adjusted the cut on my feedback. Usually, I'd be afraid to give feedback but he was really good about it. For a haircut from a pro who has almost 20 years of experience in the business, a cut for $50 is TREMENDOUS value. I've never been one of those girls who spends a lot of time or money on hair. I've lived in Toronto for 4 years now and only recently did I take the plunge in trying a salon here. The two times I went to Blowdry Lounge prior to my recent visit were great. I got a blowout for grad photos the first time, and a style cut and blowout the second time. Both times, I left feeling that the prices were fair and services were excellent. Then I booked a dusting and blowout for last weekend and am very disappointed with the results - so much so that I won't be returning. First of all, my hair barely touches my shoulders and it ended up costing $90. I almost choked when the receptionist told me the price because that was more than my original style and blowout! The stylist took a lot more off than I wanted, which I didn't realize at first because my hair was curled a bit more than my natural style after the blowout. It's also a lot frizzier since and is tangled, to the point that I have to brush it every hour or so. The at-home products and regimen I've been using for a few months are sulfate-free and did not yield these results! The cherry on top would be the couple strands of hair that appear to have gotten missed and are longer than the rest of my layers, even in my bangs. Before, I would've given TBL five stars. It's funny how one really crappy experience can turn that around completely. read more

I adore the Blowdry Lounge! Now - full disclosure, Beni has been cutting my hair since I was about 15 years old - so almost ten years now. Although I've strayed occasionally, I can't seem to quit him - even now that I live 8 hours away. TBL does unbelievably perfect blow-outs quickly and inexpensively. I have fine, medium length hair and pay 35 for a blow-out. One thing I love about Beni's hairstyling is that he really takes the time to make my hair completely perfect - other stylists can rush with my easily straightened hair while he gives it volume that lasts so much more. If you need a quick fix to your bad hair day or an up-do in a hurry like me, then this spot is great. The ladies getting blowdries all came out with shiny and sleek looking hair. I had them throw together a 1920s soft side-swept bun and waves for me in about 50mins. It turned out great even though they were not able to achieve the finger wave I so badly wanted on the sides. The damage was $68, a bit more than I was expecting but what can you do. I'd definitely return for a blowdry which takes anywhere from 45mins-1hr depending on the length of your hair and style you'd like. It's best to make an appointment but they will take walk-ins. There are 6 chairs total and like most salons in Toronto the decor is beautiful. read more

Although my hair looked great. They never told me they over charge for using a hair straightener!!! I was told the blow out was $45 and ended up spending $90. On top of that the boutique is dirty. He put the comb in his mouth (the part that he used in my hair) and then used it on my hair. And the over charged and unnecessarily charged straightener was placed on the floor to heat up and when not on use of my hair. I was disgusted during the entire experience but I had an event to go to and couldn't stop it. Then was in shock at the overly high price that I was lied to about. Highly do not recommend. read more

Had a great experience. Called in the morning and they were able to fit me in same day, even though it was Sunday. Some of the other places I called were really rude when telling me they were fully booked. The receptionist here was really nice and friendly. I wasn't sure I could gets cut (having never been before), but they do offer that. I had Carlos cut and blow out my hair. He was excellent. He really understood what I wanted. Came here at 2pm and they told me to come back at 4 when they had a spot. Killed 2 hours and then they said that they still had nothing available. Total waste of my time. Beware, My girlfriends and I were looking to have a great NYE. We booked many appointments weeks in advance and obviously we had to put a credit card down for all of the appointments. Only problem was when one of my friends got sick and another could not come because she was also sick and had to work, that we were penalized (even though we did the cancellations in advance) Although they did a fairly good job, we all ended up in the same curls, severely over charged (especially compared to the prices listed on the website) and by the time we grabbed a bite to eat and made it home before the party started, 2 of us had to do our hair over completely and the other two just dealt with the falling out curls. $65 to use a blow dryer to dry short, thin hair roots and curl with an iron is too much. Expensive comparatively and they do not tell you upfront what price will be ( price list indicates 40-50 dollars, depending on length and texture of hair, so assumed 40 given the simplicity). My shoulder length straight hair was 50 + tax - total came to 56.50... so I'm guessing they just charge everyone high end of range. Appointment took half an hour. Although I was happy with the blow dry, I would not recommend this place. There are more reasonable places in the neighbourhood. read more

I've been here a few times getting my hair done by Beni the owner or Shaun, each time there's a good music playlist playing and the service is excellent, they even let my little dog friendly dog sit on my lap while I get my hair done! The prices are great for the area and I'm always walking out a happy customer, they always do a great job on my hair, better then most places I've been to - they've had to fix some of my bad hair cuts I've had in the past and always do a great job. I did a lot of review reading before choosing the Blowdry Lounge. I've been burned so many times before, other hairdressers have listened to what I say, and then done exactly what they thought would suit me...often completely the opposite to what I wanted. Rouhlat does my hair now, and I couldn't be happier. She always listens, and hears exactly what I want. She still will try new things and make suggestions, and even then she reads my personality perfectly. I can't wait to go back again, Rouhlat always makes sure I leave feeling like a million dollars! I came here with a groupon for a "signature" blowout and a deep conditioning treatment. The guy who did the blowout was very nice but it was easily the worst blowout I've ever gotten. I asked for loose, beachy waves and left with an 80s style poofy, frizzy, curly mess. I guess their signature blowout involves leaving a dozen round brushes in your hair which is super uncomfortable and I got my scalp burned a couple times as well. He used zero styling products and despite the "deep conditioning " treatment, I left there with the driest hair that felt like a broom. I had to come home and put some oil on it to get rid of the frizz and brushed it out until I no longer looked like I had a bees nest on my head. I don't know if they treat all customers like this or just groupon users, but if their purpose for using groupon is to get new customers, then they are failing miserably.
