We love this place, but have to say that we never really feel like they value their repeat customers. every single time we visit the first thing the front desk says is "Is this your first visit?" Very annoying. Not the fault of the person but I find it so odd that they can't see that we have been visiting their many times! I think there has been a lot of turnover and they definite,y have struggled to keep up with the times and customer service has slipped. But...with that said we still will go back for sentimental reasons and hope things improve :).

There's a spot where it is cracked open about four inches. The paint job should have been the whole ceiling and the patches. The switch on the hairdryer was broken. I asked the next day to have it repaired and was told they just got a shipment in, well no one replaced. The breakfast area has no space after the pancake machine to put a plate down. Funny watching people start the machine reach to get something else and there goes the pancake on the floor. You can't make this stuff up. Only two choices of meat, ham and turkey sausage neither of which I care for. The poor gal was running crazy trying to keep the place stocked. No Ethernet in the room only wi-if. What a pain as my wife's Fire wouldn't connect because the date and time were off too much. You can't set it manually so I found a way to connect to my MacBook once I could get to an Ethernet port. Fixed the problem in seconds and then she logged on to their wi-fi. Who designed the page to reject you if you if the date and time are off, really! I can say that I will not stay at this Holiday Inn again. PS coming back to the room tonight a woman was yelling at the manager as she had no towels, the maids don't speak English and when they dropped something on the floor she happen to look under the bed. Found someone else's sock and other stuff. So you get the idea. The place needs a major cleaning, painting and new wallpaper too.

My wife and I worked very hard to save for our 9/27/24 wedding. We knew it would be a rainy week, but no one expected a hurricane to hit our mountain town. We woke to a message from them the morning of the event, as we were evacuating our flooding wedding venue that read "What is your plan for today? Are you looking at rescheduling?  At this point is is unsafe for anyone to be on the roads, so we are wondering what the plan is! Thanks so much, stay safe!" Clearly, our focus was on our safety and our loved ones, and once we made it to safety we knew there was no way we would be having our wedding on this day. We then told our day of coordinator, once we got cell service briefly, to tell everyone to stay home. We understand they spent money on the food, we by no means expected a full refund. But like our other local vendors, who had a similar policy, we expected a partial refund. My advice, book with the utmost caution and know zero grace will be given.m Reply to Azafran response: The reason for a three week delay in requesting a partial refund was out of respect for you and your business. I saw that your kitchen was flooded and decided it would be best to wait to reach out to give you time to cleanup and recover. My wife and I live here, we are apart of this community, we wanted to wait for a more appropriate time to discuss business, seeing the devastation our community has faced, including your business. In my initial email I never once "demanded" a refund. I requested a partial refund, fully understanding we would be paying for the food cost your company had already absorbed to cater our event, given we never received the product due to a natural disaster out of either party's control, we felt a partial refund request was within reason. It is incredibly misleading to label our cancellation message as last minute. At 7:45am we received a message from you saying that it was unsafe for anyone to be on the roads. You insinuated that it would be impossible to cater our event with that message. Again, we were evacuating our flooding venue with zero cell phone service, trying to communicate with not only our vendors, but also our family and friends. Once we received cell service, we reached our day of coordinator, who communicated with everyone to stay home, I am posting this review to let potential customers know that with Azafran they are not sent a contract full of clauses to sign. They are only sent an invoice with a price. It is only on the bottom of the website that you will learn that they offer no refunds for inclimate weather, again including natural disasters. We want future customers to understand that Azafran will show you zero grace and is unwilling to reach a compromise.

To accommodate 9 people is a lot and everyone was dying over how amazing every dish was. The biggest struggle we had was not licking the bowls clean because we knew we needed to keep room for more. Also leftovers were given which was unexpected but super great. Everyone loved all the local aspects of every dish. Knowing it was helping local farmers just made the experience even better. Liza and her team are seriously phenomenal!! If we ever have the chance to have this private dinner experience again in Blowing Rock area, there is zero doubt we will be calling them up again. For food we started with the white cheddar poblano, which I expected to be more of a liquid queso for some reason. It was instead for of a soft, spread, which was really good, and paired well with the chips. And then we split the Turkey Reuben, which I figured would be made with deli meat, instead, it was warm, cooked chunks of turkey, really great flavor, and hit the spot for us. The sides with the sandwiches were a bit lacking, only offering hot chips, and green beans....I've never gotten the whole hot chip craze, but green beans just seamed like too odd of a side option for a sandwich It was a good visit, and a good meal, to get us back on our feet. Overall, a nice space, with bar seating, a back room, a back and front patio, plenty of space to hang out, relax and enjoy their beer. Food and drink were both good and worth a visit if you're in the area.
