My two friends and I had the distinct privilege of taking a half day snorkeling cruise with captain Nick Pulice on his beautiful 50 ft Beneteau sailboat Epiphany. We snacked on cheese, crackers and beer on our way out to the reef and ate subs after we snorkeled. Nick and crewmember Tony were outstanding hosts and very engaging and entertaining. Their seamless coordinated sailing expertise was displayed throughout the day and we never felt any concerns for our safety despite being quite a ways off shore. We saw numerous dolphins who swam alongside the sailboat as well as sea turtles. Once at the reef, we put on the snorkeling equipment provided. Since we already were experienced snorkelers, we had Nick skip the instruction portion of the trip and jumped right in and swam about 3 mins to the reef. It was a bright sunny day and as we swam over the reef we were greeted by numerous colorful fish. Nick provided us with a GoPro camera, so we could video as we swam and surface dove down the coral. The depth was only about 5 ft in some places, so it was easy to swim down for a close look at the fish. One day after our trip, I received an email from Nick with a YouTube link for the 3 min video he put together from the GoPro. We also loved the wonderful relaxing change of pace that the sailboat offered over the alternative speeding powerboat mode of transportation. Overall, this was a wonderful unforgettable experience. WOW! Blown Away earned its name last week. My daughter's fiance wanted to surprise her with a proposal on the water and chose Nick and his boat as the site. Nick was super responsive during the planning stage and took our crazy asks in stride (he figured out what an "Aperol Spritz" was using YouTube and presented us with the best ones we've ever had, after the ring was accepted). We're divers and were happy that the snorkeling gear was top quality, food was good, winds fair and following seas. Boat was a 55' Beneteau with a broad beam so quite stable and roomy. Nick and his mate did a great job of making sure we got back to the dock in time for the surprise band and dancing. Among his many skills, Nick actually grabbed perfect pix of the proposal as it happened on the bow, despite being underway at the time. Impressive seamanship, bartending AND photography skills. My (now) fiancee and I got engaged on a snorkeling trip with these fine folks! The captain and first mate were extremely knowledgeable, thoughtful, kind, and we felt super safe in their hands.
