BlueCore is my favorite range in Denver. They have a very talented staff. However, I believe I have such a great experience with them because I was already immersed into gun culture. I have seen many reviews from beginners who claim they felt unwelcome and were even yelled at during instruction. I am a firm believer that to grow positive gun culture and safeguard our rights, we must create an environment where curiosity amongst newcomers is welcomed with respectful supervision and correction from RSOs. This relationship goes both ways between the establishment and newcomer. If you choose to explore and learn at BlueCore, know that the person instructing you is responsible for not only your safety, but the safety of others. I've been to it multiple times and every time I regret going. The workers are rude and aren't looking to help just make you feel uncomfortable. I went there to shoot today with a friend that is a member. I have a very split opinion of the place. As we walked the front door, three people at desk were so busy chatting with one another, they didn't even say hello. When asked a couple questions about ammo and prices, they seemed annoyed I was interrupting their conversation. I felt very unwelcome and like I was bothering them. It was very unpleasant. We headed downstairs to shoot and things for much better. The guys downstairs were engaging, chatty and fun. We talked about various guns and I enjoyed it. The actual shooting was easy and uneventful. The range was clean and well kept. It's unfortunate my reception upstairs was so rude and cold. It really soured an otherwise fun afternoon of shooting. I live close to this establishment and don't visit nearly as much as I would like to. Employees are friendly but not overbearing, RSOs are attentive and willing to lend a hand if you bring along a first time shooter. My last visit was to test out a red dot I had just installed on a pistol. I neglected putting loctite on the screws and the sight was close to becoming airborne but the range staff allowed me to use some tools they had on hand to tighten the screws so I could finish my shooting. I had blucore do a FFL transfer on a lower I ordered online and had no issues. Price for the transfer was on par with local competitors and they called me when the lower arrived and paperwork was a breeze. Cannot recommend this business enough for any firearm need. read more

Blucore SC is a range, gun shop and training center. It's is clean. Prices for items are fair value and can even be a great deal if you have a membership as you get your discount. As for the range, it requires a membership to shoot. Is it worth the value? Well that depends on how much you shoot, train, purchase from the shop. I'll leave that up to you. For me, it is well worth the membership. I can almost always find a lane in rifle, pistol or both. This is one of the only ranges I know that allow you to train with rapid fire. I have heard some rumors that ranges say, "no headshots" what really? NOT BC, in fact they want you to train for real world situations. Which brings me to the training classes. The class begins and we spend an about 45 mins on gun safety, what to expect. Afterwards, you are taken to the range for the hands on portion. If you put the class/yourself in danger, expect to be corrected. "But my guns not loaded" Rule 1 gun safety. That is the point of the class. The class may seemed rushed. That is because they are dumping a lot of information in a short amount of time. From there, YOU are responsible to practice at home or on range, what they taught you about manipulation, trigger control, etc. The range offers rentals 9mm to .50 BMG. Targets, sleds, range scopes are all available if needed. The shop: They have the basics and some nice firearms for sale. They definitely don't have the largest selection. The staff may not be all smiles and overly energetic but I have always gotten a hello unless they were with a customer. I appreciate they offer help or help when asked but they aren't pressuring you to buy crap, they aren't in your face while browsing. The place is not welcoming. If you are a beginner and care about friendly learning experience, it is not the place for you. I took beginner handgun class there to try it out. They speed through basic instructions , and went into the fun part , the shooting. I was struggling with basics and felt very rushed. When I made a mistake , it was my first time handling a handgun , the gun was unloaded, I got screamed at. The point on mistake was made , I understood . Yet the instructor when on and on screaming his lungs out. Unhinged is a word. If you are a woman and a beginner , I would not recommend beginner classes there. This place was great! I have been to many ranges that really try & nickel & dime you but this place was fantastic. I really enjoyed paying just one flat rate to rent all the different rifles on the wall. Just buy the ammo from them & you can switch them out whenever you want. I suggest starting with the AK47 first as your chest or shoulder is going to take a beating. There are about 4 or 5 AR15's, a few .22 Rifles, a shotgun, & a .50 cal sniper rifle($20 a shot) There is a pistol range as well as a rifle range but rifles can be shot on both. Outstanding membership pricing for unlimited shooting. The reservation system is fantastic for securing your trigger time and avoiding long wait times. The rifle range: they've got a kick ass underground 100 yard rifle range that allows you to shoot at all times of the year in a controlled environment. Perfect for sighting in your long range rifles. They've even got lead sleds and spotting scopes available for rent. The "pistol" range: not limited to pistols, in fact... feel free to bring an AR or any other high powered rifles, just make sure to leave your steel core stuff at home because that ruins the back stop and then that affects everyone's else's pews when they have to fix it. The range officers aren't overbearing and will allow you to rapid fire as long as you're not a complete idiot with your technique. They even allow drawing from your holster as long as you can demonstrate proper firearm handling and trigger control, so that's a plus! Ammo behind the range counter is priced decently, even for being at the range. They've also got a really fun arsenal available to rent, some including a Scar in 308 an FNX 45 with a suppressor and even a full auto 9mm AR. Expect to use their ammo with their rental firearms. They offer a large selection of training classes taught by true professionals. So if you're new to guns or a enthusiast who is constantly trying to convince their significant other to let them buy another truck gun. There's always something to take a class for. You'll also find a SilencerShop kiosk here for you stamp collectors as well as Black Rifle coffee, Silencer smooth anyone? The bathrooms are well kept. It would be nice if they offered beverages for sale, my mouth tends to dry up after salivating at all the guns on display. My son was murdered eight months ago . I came to BluCore Shooting Center to overcome my fear of guns as he was shot in front of my daughter and I. Due to circumstances I no longer can afford to be a member here and I only have two of my three family members. I came in to cancel my membership today hoping that it would be an easy process. I was told that I cannot cancel my membership in person. I can only email an Administrative Assistant to do so. I was just charged the Family Membership rate yesterday and simply wanted to cancel it and possibly do a lesser membership. After finding out that number one I cannot cancel in person and number two I have to email an Admin who will not be able to get back to me until next week and number three asking them to make an exception due to my circumstances, I am incredibly disappointed and feel completely unheard and unimportant. I then asked to speak to a manager who apparently I was already speaking to you and told him that my frustration is that I have spent hundreds upon hundreds of dollars at this location not only for membership but purchasing a gun and equipment from them. And that it felt terrible to be told that they could not help me. He looked at me like OK whatever. I asked if there was a manager above him and then he proceeded to tell me they've had turnover and there's no one else to speak to. The reason I am speaking on this platform is to hopefully get a real manager to hear me. How is it that you can purchase your membership in person? That you can purchase a gun in person? But to cancel your membership you have to email an Administrative Assistant? I guarantee you this young man will not take my concerns to whomever is in charge and I angrily walked out saying that I guess what I had to say wasn't important to them and apparently it's not. This is a terrible policy and extremely member non-centric. We paid about $170 (4 ppl) and we got to shoot 6 guns and we shot pistols and rifle. We took our time and shot for about 2 hours. We weren't rushed at all. I've been here pre-Covid and the service wasn't great but my last visit was terrible. Came here on a Sunday afternoon around 4 PM and it wasn't packed at all, $17.50 per person per hour normally but if it's not busy you can stay as long as you want. No steel bullets allowed, so bring your brass ones or they sell them on site for less than $20 a box of 9mm. (Cheaper than Walmart!) I have been to another location and this place is way better. Great ventilation and air circulation. They have rentals too if you want to try different guns. Not sure about the rental fees. They offer ear and eye protection as well. Great customer service and super friendly guys. Bonus points on being good looking too. :P Definitely will be back! read more

Place is a great option for an indoor range. They have a couple 100 yard rifle lanes which is rare for an indoor range in CO. They also have a bunch of closer range pistol lanes as well. The prices can definitely creep up on you since it's something like $27 per hour on the rifle range and $20 per hour on the pistol lanes. They have a decent selection of firearms for rent or purchase but I haven't rented from them so I don't know how well they're maintained. Price isn't really an issue in this review since shooting is a pay to play hobby/outing/obsession anyways. The staff is courteous and will let you know when you're coming close to your hour mark so you don't spend more time there than you intend to. read more

The rang is outdated and the Skinny transplants behind the counter don't know the first thing about guns, or customer service. I'm feeling a bit burned today. I've been here a couple of time with my brothers despite a 35 minute drive to take advantage of their 100 yard indoor range which is great for zeroing in my rifles. We got there today and had to wait for 90 minutes to get a rifle lane, which is OK - they were busy and members had reservations. Here is the rub - If I go there by myself, I pay $32 to shoot a rifle lane for an hour. I go there with my two brothers today and am told they can only give us one lane because it is so busy. We share a lane for an hour and they charge EACH of us $32 to share a lane for an hour. How does this make any sense? They were paid THREE times for the use of a lane because they charge by individual, not by lane. In my humble opinion - this is flat out unethical. It's disappointing because I love the place for a lot of other reasons (enough to drive 35 minutes each way) but I can't help but feel seriously cheated. read more

I want to start with, this is the first review I have ever wrote on a business, however, after the complete lack of customer service, arrogance and just plain pricks. I feel the need to let my fellow Veterans know where NOT to go. I went to Blucore today to sight in my hunting rifle. I approached the guy at the gun counter and asked if there were any openings on the 100 yard range. The guy said there may be an opening at 12 and directed me to go down stairs and figure it out. Once down stairs, I spoke to one of the range staff and asked if they had any openings on the 100 yard range. They said they could get me in, so I filled out the waivers. I gave the range staff my ID and was asked if I had eyes and ears, which I did, and I was told what lane I could use and that all shooting was to be done sitting down. No time during our conversation was I told that range times were every hour on the hour and that I would only get 30 minutes because it was 1130 and be charged for an hour. The attitude from the range staff was short and uninviting to say the least. I got on the range and started zeroing my rifle. At noon, I was 30 minutes in my range time and was told my time was up. I packed up and went to pay. I asked the guy behind the counter how they do range time. He said every hour on the hour. I then made a statement "So that is why I only got 30 minutes?" His response was "Yeah I guess so". That comment and the guys smug attitude is why I am writing this. Then I was charged for a full hour of range time when I only got 30 minutes. So I paid $1 a minute for the worst service I have ever had at any range. I hope the owners read this and really take into consideration who they employ and how those employees reflect on them. Veteran to veterans, I can say without a doubt I will never give Bluecor my business again. If you are looking for a gun shop / range I would personally recommend Triple J Armory because their staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and eager to help! read more

We love BluCore for almost all our firearm needs! I was first introduced to the facility when I signed up for their intro pistol class - Pistol I. It was easy to sign up, the class times offered were convenient and the price was right. I enjoyed the class immensely, and appreciated that even though I was the only woman in the class, was not taught any differently and treated very respectfully. I did not have my own pistol at the time, so was able to rent one from the facility for the range part of the class. I also bought ammunition. If you want to do this, I would just call to make sure they have equipment available for rent. I really liked that we went to the range as part of the class and had time to work with the instructor for a bit. The class isn't for learning how to be a perfect shot, but more to get you comfortable with shooting a pistol - and it does just that. The class and instructor made me feel comfortable enough to return multiple times afterward by myself to rent different pistols and spend time in the range working on my skills. The staff was welcoming every time and answered any questions that I had. I continued to rent ammo, different pistols and also purchased targets. I liked being able to try different pistols during the time I was there. There was a few times that I rented one, realized after just a few rounds it wasn't for me and traded it for something else to really utilize my range time. The facilities are clean, well-lit and organized well. After a while renting, I zeroed in on a Glock 19 Gen 4. BluCore made the purchasing process easy and straightforward. I walked out with my pistol, ammo and the supplies I needed that day. Fast forward a few months, and we purchased a second pistol from another facility. We had it shipped to BluCore. The process was seamless! The only thing we don't usually purchase from BluCore is ammo. Although convenient since we are there a lot, we are usually able to find better prices elsewhere. The membership option is nice since we're able to reserve lane times and have access to eye and ear protection. I'm excited to take more classes and keep coming back to this range for the foreseeable future! read more

I would give a zero star, but it's not available. My family has been going to BluCore for several years and we have a membership. However, today my son went with a friend who is considering buying a pistol. Since we have a few different kinds, we decided that we would meet at BluCore to show him the pistols and for him to try one that we are selling. My son got through the hour, showing him the mechanics of each gun, and having him test drive each one. My friend felt this was a great opportunity to see the different styles and ammo that is used in each. At the end of their range time, an employee came up to my son and basically embarrassed and berated him for "training" someone at "his" range. (In their range rules - "Professional training by BluCore personnel only. No Exceptions!") My son explained that our friend was looking to purchase a pistol and didn't know where to begin and he was just showing him different types. The employee continued to berate him, saying that it's "not allowed" to do whatever it was that my son had done. Showing another person how to use a gun is not allowed? Telling him about the different calibers of ammo and how to sight in is not allowed? The employee then said that if he ever does that again, they'd revoke his membership and that anyone unfamiliar with guns needed to go through THEIR training class ($300 a class training, mind you.) So basically, if our guest or even a member of our family wanted to shoot a gun for the first time, we aren't allowed to show them any of our guns or have them shoot with us at BluCore? We aren't allowed to bring any new gun owner to BluCore to shoot their gun as our guest? Seriously??? My son was in no way "professionally training" our guest. He was NOT being paid to show our guest how to shoot. This employee of BluCore is arrogant and had no problem embarrassing my son in front of our guest. Who, by the way, was considering buying a membership to BluCore to improve his skills. Well, guess what - not now! So, we've paid nearly $1000 in membership dues over the last 3 years, we've had guests and we've bought ammo there. My son actually took ME there as a novice shooter to show me how to shoot guns and rifles. So, goodbye BluCore. We are canceling the membership immediately. Being treated this way by another gun owner is WRONG! We all believe in the 2nd and to teach others about proper owning, and care of firearms! We've been to Tuesday Ladies Nights and saw many, many women being taught how to use guns by their friends, boyfriends, and husbands. Were these men berated for teaching women how to use a pistol? Was it because our guest was a MAN and not a woman that my son was treated this way?? My family has referred many, many people to BluCore over the years. Those referrals will now be revoked and we will tell others to go somewhere else. My whole life, I've wanted nothing to do with guns, I'm pissed that they even exist in the world I live in, and I wish that instead of shooting bullets at each other, we could instead rely on hurling cupcakes at each other's faces. (Don't get me wrong, I get the need for guns as far as hunting goes, and I have a zillion double standards when it comes to my ideas about guns.) Nuff said. I'm one of THOSE people. My man has had guns in the past, and since we live in a neighborhood with fairly high crime, and have experienced somebody trying to get into our house in the middle of the night, I've had to open my mind to the possibility that owning a gun and having it in our house might not be a terrible idea. But I still want nothing to do with guns. So, after a lot of coaxing and cajoling (and with the promise of paying, what I feel is an ungodly amount of cash, to go shoot stuff), my guy finally got me to go with him to BluCore. We walked into the place, and entered a room fulla guns and ammo and self defense gear. My chest tightened. We were greeted by an exceptionally friendly guy toting some sort of gun in a holster on his belt. Chest tightened further. He told us to head downstairs to the range, to have a good time. I heard the shots beneath us, and kinda wanted to have a heart attack so we could just leave. I still want nothing to do with guns. Downstairs, a few more gun-toting men were there to help you pick out guns, get ammo, sell targets, and to talk it all out. No doubt, I was shaking. I've never really seen a gun up close, and one of the downstairs boys was extraordinarily gracious about explaining the basics of gun operation to me. I'm sure I looked like a royal dipshit giving it a go myself, but it's my first time. Some sort of 9mm was my first gun. And I want absolutely nothing to do with guns. Entering the range itself, eye and ear protection on, I jumped at every shot, still. Not cool. Granted, the place was very clean, and the shell casings were cleared out of the way. Somebody else mentioned good ventilation, and even as a first timer, I noticed it. With shaky hands, and over a good deal of time, I loaded the magazine and got down to business. No, guns, no, no, no. I did alright at target practice, and we tried out a few different models to see which felt best. After familiarizing myself with how it felt, how it sounded, and how it worked, my anxieties eased a little bit, and I could actually focus on trying to hit the targets. If I had my way, I would absolutely never, ever have a gun in my house. But if I had my way, our neighbors wouldn't have guns either. For what this place is, I have to give it 5 stars. I never want to come here again, or have to interact with a gun, but now I know generally what to do should I need to use one. Knowledge is power, after all. read more

I served 10 years in the Marine Corps and currently have 14+ years experience in law enforcement and 99% of the 24+ years has been spent teaching individuals on all levels how to shoot both handgun and rifle. I am an NRA instructor and in my years in law enforcement and in the military, I personally have trained over 25,000 shooters and in my time teaching I have never met more arrogant pricks than the ones who run this joint. The individuals that run this place think they walk on water and they are the only individuals that can teach anyone. Okay, let me start off this review by saying that I'm a Buddhist-Liberal. I hate guns. I loathe them in fact. BUT - I am tied down to someone who does enjoy handling and shooting firearms. For his birthday I decided I needed to come out of my shell and at least see what this "American Right" is all about. Now, my views have not changed since my visit to the shooting range. BUT - I had a great experience here with my significant other and to see the pure joy on his face warmed my heart. We were helped by Jason at the gun range counter. He is the reason I'm giving this range such a good review. To Jason: thank you, for being fantastic. Despite the range being insanely busy he took time to explain the difference between firearms and what would be best for someone who has never shot before (me). After we were set and ready to go inside he did not leave our side until he felt that we were both comfortable to shoot on our own. I felt very safe with Jason and could tell he was extremely informed. He is definitely what made this visit worthwhile and made me feel like I could come back and try this out again. They have classes - including a women's only class - which has inspired me to sign up for a few before I go shooting on a range again. The facility seemed clean and well taken care of. I have no desire to own a gun but I do feel it is completely necessary for me to know what I'm doing around something so dangerous. I know it is in my best interest to know how to put together, take apart, and operate a gun should the crazy zombie apocalypse ever come our way. :P Had to to throw a little humor in here. But honestly, it was great that they have trained ex-Navy Seals helping to run this place. It definitely felt like a safe place to go for a bit of shooting. This place does not deserve a 1 star review! When you walk in the sales staff which was only one person was not pleasant and did not even great me. The range which is way to expensive is not worth the price. The rifle range is dark and has water coming in through the roof which soaked my target. The benches are only good for right handed shooter and do not accommodate left handed shooters! There are no range safety officers on the ranges to keep things safe and help out when needed. Honest you are better off going to other indoor ranges like Triple J armory or Centennial Gun club where the prices are better on everything the employees are 9 times out of 10 good people and have good energy!!!! read more
