    The Best Chocolate Pie
    Imelda S.

There aren't many restaurants in the area, so when you are in this middle of nowhere place you might as well stop. Go ahead and try the food. Just go with the special. Whatever it may be. Live a little. Be adventurous. Or at least just get the pie. Specifically, the chocolate pie. I have tried other chocolate pies and must say this one is the best I've ever had.

Yuck yuck yuck. Homage pimento cheese is all sweet miracle whip and runny. Homemade chips are flavor less with no salt. Hair in my plate. Not good at all. I'd rather go hungry and would never recommend to anyone. Horrible place. Stinks like grease so bad your eyes will burn

a certificate for a favorite place to get catfish

Very small, cute decorated (with royal blue and white tiles on walls of dinning room and also in restrooms. Waitress came rite over and got our order for "sweet tea". WOW if you don't know sweet tea in the South is you're in for a SWEET surprise. I had to ask for plain tea to dilute this southern treat. We got the recommend local cat dinner. Such a plate of catfish I've ever seen! It was so sweet and tender, not the heavy breading like most restraints serve. Served along with the fish was a big pile of fries and a goodly portion of cold slaw. The waitress displayed the well known southern hospitality, in my experience a rarity in many Northern states. The tab about $20.00 with tip for the three of us. Can't wait to come here again next month while traveling again.

We hadn't eaten out for a while so we seen this place and thought it looked cute so we walked over from Pilot (across the street) and sat down to order our food. I had to repeat my order 4 times and the "waitress" still wasn't getting it. Simple order "ribeye and shrimp dinner" comes with 2 sides but don't order the onion rings because even though it's on the "sides menu" they charged me $2 extra for the small helping that I received. She looked and asked if we wanted to split the dinner and I said "no want 2 of the ribeye dinners with the 2 sides" she looked puzzled and said "ooohhhh so you want the shrimp basket and a ribeye? I repeated what I wanted 3 more times and each time she looked like a lost deer in the headlights. I showed her the picture on the menu (thank God for pictures because like a two year-old she would not have understood what I wanted without the pictures) the food had ZERO FLAVOUR...after we doused it with salt and pepper it was tolerable at best. The meal was $22 a plate but not worth half what they were charging. Now let's get to the second half of this review The Service As I stated earlier in this review, this girl was not quite all there, she brought me the bill 1/2 way through us eating the meal, said "you can take care of this anytime" but proceeded to come back multiple times like she was waiting for us to pay. When I was looking over the bill, I noticed the two dollar charge for the onion rings and when I asked her about it, she looked at me once again with those deer in the headlight look in her eyes shrugged her shoulders and said "I don't know maybe it was a specialty side" and I said no it was on the sides item list. She looked at me like she could care less so I asked her if there was somebody here that would know why they were charging two dollars extra for onion rings. She said no all the managers have gone home for the night so there was nobody there that could answer the question. We paid our bill and left very dissatisfied and now my stomach is kind of upset so I'll probably throw the leftovers away because now I'm not sure if it's going to be safe to eat. The quality of the food is nowhere near what it should be The ribeye steak is like that of which you would buy at Walmart in the box of 5 ribeyes out of the freezer for $15.88 The shrimp is the frozen box of SeaPak shrimp, again that you find at Walmart for $9.87 As my wife and I were walking out the door she overheard them talking crap about us wanting to speak to the manager like they want to keep the manager around all night long to make sure customers are taken care of. Mind you it was not even 5:00 pm yet. And the only reason that I wanted to speak with a manager was the question about the onion rings. Rude unprofessional uninformed staff, probably cracked out, meth heads that couldn't stop twitching for their next fix. The cook kept sliding his jaw like meth heads do when they are high. I almost forgot to mention that the ribeye steak tasted fishy so I'm not sure what that was all about.

I ordered the Double Bacon Cheeseburger, and it was enormous. The bacon was cooked perfectly, crispy without being overdone, and there was plenty of it. The toppings were fresh, the cheese was generous, and the burger was so big I couldn't finish it all. I wanted to, but it simply won the battle. One of the things that makes Parker's unique is the atmosphere. The walls are covered with horse racing memorabilia and photos. The owner is involved in horse racing, and the racing theme gives the restaurant a personality all its own. And don't leave without trying the ice cream. We had the soft serve, and it was absolutely delightful. It was the perfect finish to a great meal. This is the kind of classic American drive in that is becoming harder to find. Freshly prepared food, generous portions, local character, and a memorable experience. If you're passing through Paducah, Parker's is well worth getting off the interstate for. We'll definitely be back.

After doing some record shopping we asked "Where's a good place to go for lunch" and there was a unanimous "Parker's" from standers by. It was also, literally, about 3 blocks away. There's a menu board mounted behind the counter and they can hand you one so you don't have to squint your eyes to see all they have to offer. And this menu is ENORMOUS Parker's is a very cool throwback to the car hops of the 50s and early 60s. You can order outside on the speaker or go inside for the full-on experience. The inside is decorated with movie and music memorabilia and neon. Lots of neon. If you're eating inside you order at the counter, they give you a number, and you find a seat. The menu is hand-held/bar food. Burgers, hotdogs, onion rings, and fries, and a variety of sandwiches and a HUGE selection of sides. My wife had a mushroom and swiss burger, I had your basic cheese burger. Our sides were onion rings and fries. Our food was delivered hot, fresh, and accurate within ten minutes. My wife's burger/onion rings came on a basket shaped like a guitar. #AWESOME!! The food was tasty and delicious. I asked for tomato on my cheeseburger and they were able to add it, but was sliced probably 3/4 of an inch thick! It made the burger look a little lopsided, but it was still good. The staff was friendly and didn't look at me funny when I asked for a side of mayonnaise for my fries (yea I'm that guy). The dining room was authentically decorated, like I said, with vintage movie and music stuff down to the chrome chairs and the soda fountain seat with silver, twirly seats...even the floor tiles were like something you'd see in a movie from the 50s. Our first visit was a great experience and we had a lot of fun despite unrelenting rain. If we get to Paducah again, Parker's Drive In is definitely our lunch destination.

Wonderful service, even on a busy holiday. Struggling to keep up with a busy lunch rush, but they were holding it together quite well. Clean restrooms. Had the meatloaf special. Not fresh made meatloaf. This was more of a minced, spam-ish beef product with can gravy. Didn't taste like home, sadly. However, veggies were fine as were the fries. And for the price, overall a good value. This is a fine diner. I'd recommend sticking close to the short order classics.
