If you are in Hazel, this is a great place to grab a quick bite while antiquing. I came in on a Saturday around noon, and we were a party of four. You seat yourself-- there were a few spots in the front and plenty of seats in the back. We were welcomed by a great hostess. She explained the menu, and brought out our drinks and food in a timely manner. She frequently checked in on us to make sure our needs were met. I got the Saturday lunch plate-- small hamburger steak with grilled onions and gravy, slaw, Mac and cheese, fried okra and hush puppies. Super cute little diner in the sweet little town of Hazel Kentucky. They have solid diner fare and good coffee served by the most efficient servers ever! I created my own dish by ordering the loaded hash browns without the ham and two over medium eggs on top, accompanied by the most buttery tasting biscuit. Yum! Stopped in with my cousin when on a weekend getaway to the area. The service was quick and friendly. Food was fresh and clearly homemade. Some highlights were the fried fish, hush puppies, fried pork chop, and the white beans. The white beans are a must get if they are being offered that day. There aren't many restaurants in the area, so when you are in this middle of nowhere place you might as well stop. Go ahead and try the food. Just go with the special. Whatever it may be. This is a small quaint little diner. The food is OK. The staff is exceptionally nice but sadly enough off to the back of the kitchen, I can only assume twice during our very small stay to eat breakfast. Somebody puffed so much that cigarette smoke filled the whole dining area and I had to complain both times, that is a sad situation because I wouldn't give it a star to have my eating time filled with their habit filling the error that everybody shares with cigarette smoke is disgusting and deplorable. read more

Very small, cute decorated (with royal blue and white tiles on walls of dinning room and also in restrooms. Waitress came rite over and got our order for "sweet tea". WOW if you don't know sweet tea in the South is you're in for a SWEET surprise. I had to ask for plain tea to dilute this southern treat. We got the recommend local cat dinner. Such a plate of catfish I've ever seen! It was so sweet and tender, not the heavy breading like most restraints serve. Served along with the fish was a big pile of fries and a goodly portion of cold slaw. The waitress displayed the well known southern hospitality, in my experience a rarity in many Northern states. I stopped here after browsing the local antique stores. The locals highly recommend it, I must say, the locals called this one right. The place was very clean, the staff was quick and courteous, the food was fresh hot and delicious. This is the kind of mom and pop place that I love to dine at. They have a great selection of hot food with items that you can only find had a mom and pop restaurant. They have all kinds of homemade desserts, Pies cakes etc... Best catfish I've had in years! I have truly missed southwestern Kentucky fried catfish! No one does it better! I had the incredible catfish that was perfectly fried. Great cornmeal & magic batter. Also the fish stayed together instead of falling apart into small, tiny, pieces you have to scoop to enjoy a bite. Fried okra. Cole slaw. Available in vinegar or mayonnaise based. Hushpuppies that were an ice cream scoop sized. Deviled eggs. Yum. And Hash brown casserole that was delicious. I have no idea what they put in it other than shredded potatoes but it was addicting! The friends I went with ordered a number of things such as; fried chicken, provolone chicken, ruben, shrimp, and etc. Everyone was very pleased with their meals and we all agreed we would have ordered more if we weren't sooo incredibly full! Yelp, it was pretty darn...YUMMY! Oh! And they also have a smoking section!! Yay! Don't worry, they also have a non-smoking section as well. Prices were very, very reasonable!!! My wife and I stopped in yesterday after antique shopping. She ordered the Beef Manhattan and I ordered a double cheeseburger loaded with bacon. I requested it cooked medium. It was cooked to perfection! It was so big I couldn't even get my big mouth around it. The fries were fried a delicious golden brown. I almost had to fight my wife for them. Food is good but bland. The catfish is hit and miss. If you get a 3 piece 2 will likely taste "muddy". They do have a loyalty program that is nice if you go often. Service is good. Water tastes weird. read more

So happy we decided to travel the xtra 15 minutes from Murray to come to Hazel, Kentucky and try this place. Home made cornbread like my grandmother used to make. The hamburger steak was obviously fresh ground beef. All the sides were wonderful ( Mac & cheese, fried apples and REAL mashed potatoes). FANTASTIC! My husband and I have become regulars at this place. The food is incredible, the restaurant is clean, and everyone is SO friendly! We've eaten here many times and have always enjoyed ourselves. The roast beef is delicious. My husband loves the chopped steak. My favorite night is Tuesday when they have their wonderful friend chicken! Yum!! I would highly recommend it to anyone who loves a "meat & 3". Also.....homemade chocolate or coconut pie. Really cute little place with friendly service and very tasty mom and pop type food. Only negative thing I can say is that this might not be the place for anyone who has allergies to or is simply bothered by smoking, as there is a smoking section of the restaurant and it's a fairly small place so you might get some whiffs of cigarettes. read more

The menu is extensive, and everything tastes fresh and delicious, and the servers are all as friendly as they come. The owners are very good, decent people (my family has known them for many years).
