My adventure started in Nashville and I have made my way to Eddyville, KY. All American Diner is in the adjacent property from my hotel so without a vehicle it was an easy decision. It had minimal reviews (5), but all were positive. They have an extensive menu starting with a spectacular breakfast served all day menu. I was not in a breakfast mood so I decided to try one of their dinner platters. I was kicking around getting 3 different entrees and my waiter talked me into the ribeye which came with 2 sides & toast. Parts of the rib-eye were tasty and other parts had a significant amount of fat. The chef salad was a good starter and the loaded baker were large portions and tasty. This place was a typical road side diner and reminded me of a Waffle house except the colors,as you probably imagined, were of a patriotic nature. Well, if you expect to get breakfast... and are not a local or need to get back in the road and pick up your own menus after waiting at the sign that reads "wait to be seated" -if you are understaffed or happily busy. Take the sign down or have one that states "seat yourself". No menu on the table or offer of coffee while u wait. But then watch,Three to four patrons who arrived after us be served and eat before our order was taken. That makes one wonder why? We had to get up and get our own menu- as we had waited without any help or menu offered. Maybe put menus on each table at breakfast?. Was it only locals eat first & out-of-town travelers have to wait until they do? Was it that one of us was born on an island territory of the US, he is tanner than most everyone but is the kindest most respectful person you'll ever meet. The restaurant was clean. Not sure why they charge an extra 50 cents an egg , since our current commander and chief has protected our food, farmers and provided lower food costs for us . Raise your prices , don't put an out of date tariff on each egg you serve. It's offensive. Our breakfast was not cooked as we ordered. We were given a bill for what they gave us along with things we did not order... then had to wait once we pointed out that was not our bill (actually it belonged a man who had eaten already and left. Our small coffee cups were always empty and had to ask multiple times for overpriced tepid coffee. Again, if you keep filling it , the price doesn't matter. If you are gonna bury the country fried steak in sausage gravy-put that on the menu or have a shortcut so the waitress can communicate that the patron does not like or eat pork. Inform patrons what and how it is served. The order was incorrect so we had to wait again... the eggs would have been ice cold had they not been eaten ... ask if we could wait or give an option to have it taken off our bill. . The service, was kind lovely and somewhat overwhelmed. Breakfast is not a meal that one takes over two hours to prepare or eat. The cooks wore t-shirts that honored God and the flag. God created all of us in his image. Military members represent all walks of life. If you truly serve our Heavenly Father, treat everyone who walks through your door as HE would. Our waitress told us one of the cooks owned it all. May the GOD who we pray to daily, remind you of this day and how the food you prepared and how you skipped over us for four other tickets who came after us & the food was the opposite of what we requested (over medium not easy , well cooked hash browns not slightly browned mostly uncooked, dry bacon not limp ) perhaps because of a mistaken judgement . Warning to travelers on 24 East/65 South ,service members , veterans and people not from KY ... everyone has a bad day... how you as a business owner handles it (HE is a cook behind the counter.) may affect your breakfast and travel time in a negative way . We always will recommend a visit to the Diner! We have been coming here for a long time. Make sure to ask for Penny as your server. If you're ever craving wet tables, bad vibes, and the sweet aroma of disappointment, this diner is it. My server looked like she just took a smoke break... in 2007... and never came back mentally. She slammed my menu down like it owed her money and acted like my presence was personally ruining her day. The table was so wet I thought Poseidon was my busboy. We stopped here for lunch headed home on a road trip. 2 adult meals and 2 Kids meals cost us over $50 which I thought was steep for the food quality. I got a salad with Fried Chicken, it was pictures with Bacon pieces but it was actually Bacos which are disgusting. The Crispy chicken on the salad resembled something I would get at a school lunch. It was disappointing right down to the Ranch packets. The portions were small as well. We could have eaten a lot better for that amount of money. read more

The manger at this place is rudest person I've ever met in a manager position at a food place. Their ice maker is broken and they are serving tainted ice to patrons. I've spent plenty of money at this place. And the waitresses are all very nice. I'll be calling the heath department on Monday. read more

customer service terrible waitress had to lean on table to hear our order music was so loud, she placed order for 2 plates for 3 people we all ordered same thing with no toast biscuits instead, extra potatoes and green beans on two and veggies on one.After long wait got two plates the had to wait for another plate .
