Holy cow! This park is amazing!!! We've been lucky to visit on not-so-busy days, but I can see the climbing-focused equipment being problematic on high traffic days. The equipment is innovative and a very cool design. Such an awesome park! I'm so happy to see that they turned this area into something amazing. The playground design is so unique and fun, the kids seem to absolutely love it. They've added a dog park which is filled with happy, slobbery faces. There are some really great picnic areas in the more landscaped section of the park. On the right side of the park are some gorgeous walking trails. We took some family pictures here in the fall and it was breathtaking. We will definitely be returning! read more

I used to work across the street from this park when it was no longer an air field but not yet a park. In the years since, this area has really transformed! Came to Summit Park for the CFTA Food Truck Festival. What a great location that allowed the trucks to park around the main circle and left the middle open for tables. It was dark while we were out so I didn't get to see much else but I will definitely add this to my list of places to chill when the weather is nice! read more

My review is for the kids playground. Why is there no sun shade in this gorgeous, brand new park? The play mats they chose to cover areas of the park in, while nice and cushion-y, bake in the sun and will burn a child's skin. This park gets so hot in the summer and there is no shade relief. I have emailed the planning committee several times asking where are the plans to shade the park and the reply was "this is on our radar, however at this time it is not on our immediate schedule" which means they have no plan for it. Such a nice park but no relief from the sun aside from the awning over the restaurants. Every time I visit my thoughts are echoed by other moms. Also wondering why this park has to have such horrible sight lines for trying to watch your kids. There are 2 big openings for people to enter/exit but the design of the park makes it difficult to keep track of these when it's crowded. Wish the little toddler area was more enclosed as well to keep bigger kids from "running over" little walkers. read more

Beautiful park with lots to offer! The park it self houses 3 restaurants and 2 play grounds. At least one of the restaurants house a full bar/patio! There is a large area of grass for frisbee, football, tag, anything you can think of ! They have a delicious ice cream shop which has the popular Disney World treat, Dole Whip! The park is the venue for Summitfest. A free country music festival. My only complaint would be for the playground & the lack of shade. There is a large multi-colored pavilion that has nice cushioned chairs to sit under that is shaded but it is far from the park. There is no way to watch your kiddos in the shade while you take them to the park or much shade at all really for a pause in the play to have a drink or snack! A huge paved walking trail surrounds the park with markers for distance. A nice getaway from a warm summer day! read more

What a wonderful park with so much to offer! There's a nice walking/jogging path, play structures for the kiddos, great restaurants, and fun events. In the summer, they offer free yoga classes, running clinics, cross fit, and dance classes! Plus, there is a summer farmer's market on Wed. afternoons. There is a dog park for your canines :o) They host food truck events occasionally, as well as the 4th of July celebration, which always has live music and fireworks. This winter they will have an ice skating rink under the canopy near the restaurants! They keep surprising us with fun and new things to do! read more

Summit's park's playground is so fun but their newly opened natural playscape is even cooler! It's located behind the original playground, and to the left of the observation tower. Great signage to get there so easy to find. An area with a good size digger and sand, tall sticks/poles to build, a tunnel to play in. Best feature has to be the two identical zip lines! Saucers to sit on, not too high off the ground, and they go pretty fast. My niece and nephew also loved climbing on the wood stumps and the big log obstacle. The big logs to climb had a couple of ropes to hold onto to help keep balance, very smart. Great job Summit park, I'll be back for sure! read more

Granted I came on a blustery cold day, but overall it did the job of getting my dogs out. No separation between big dogs and little dogs, but you can't have everything. My little dog usually wants to be held anyway while my big dog runs around so it all works out. Not far from the park is a great center that has some pretty cool restaurants. Brown dog cafe actually lets you bring your dog with you while you sit on their patio. I'll have to come back to this location once the weather gets a little warmer! read more

We just discovered Summit Park last year and it is a winner. The space used to be the Blue Ash Airport, but once it closed down the city made maximum use of it. First of all, it is beautiful maintained and is enjoyed by young and old alike. There is a fantastic playground area that has small hills covered in turf that lots of children were sliding down. Also, the restroom is right there and has both regular-sized and children-sized toilets plus a little stand next to the sink so the little ones can reach up to wash their hands. If you bring your furbabies, there is a nice fenced in dog park for them to romp around in. Not only have we walked around on their trails (some of them lined with shredded mulch which makes it much softer), but we have ridden our bikes around the park, too. In the central portion, you can relax on the giant lawn swings, relax or play freely in the grass. That center part which contains a large performance plaza has been host to many famous groups as that is where Red, White and Blue Ash is celebrated for the July 4th fireworks as well as their famous A Taste of Blue Ash. For the larger events, there is also shuttle service. I feel very fortunate to have something this wonderful so close to where we live and we plan to make full use of it from now on. read more

Irresponsible owners bring their dogs who aren't socialized to this park. I have 2 Great Danes who are very well trained and love playing with other dogs and 2 times I've taken them up there a dog who isn't trained bites my girl dane. The second time a $1,400 vet bill. If you're dog is not socialized or trained DO NOT TAKE THEM TO DOG PARKS!!!! I will never go back to this park again. read more

This park is amazing with so much to do. They restaurants, ice cream shop, tea shop, multiple kids play areas for different age ranges, large grass fields, dog friendly. Wow!! It was a terrific find for our kids during a week long stay for business. They are still adding to the complex and park. The only draw back is currently there are not a lot of shaded areas so hopefully that will be added before the area is complete. read more

If you are looking for a place to enjoy a nice day then check this place out. It is a planned park area so there is a lot of open green space to spread out and play games or picnic. There is a good sized play area that is one of the more unique set ups that I've found. In addition, there are a handful of restaurants there as well. This is the most unique part as you can get a good meal while being in a park setting. I hope to attend one of their many outdoor events in the future. And it looks like they are adding on too; so more good things are coming. read more

Summit park is turning into a pretty awesome place. I love the creative play structure for kids of different ages. It is not typical playground equipment and honestly makes me wish I were a kid and could climb around. There is a small hill covered in turf where kids can sled down on cardboard. It reminds me a cement one I used to sled down a child...but safer. The food options in the park are opening as well-- Senate will be open next month! Lots of green space. Stopped in to check out the dog park today as a change from my usual location. I didn't see any signage for the dog park, so it took a while to find it. It's a small gated area with a few benches that is up against a small stand of trees. There was a good mix of dogs there. I had hoped for more space, but what was there was nice. The way that you enter is to walk through the first gate to a holding area, close that gate and then walk through a second gate into the actual park. The holding area is ideally supposed to prevent escapes, but today I watched as no less than 3 dogs were accidentally let out because people didn't wait to open the second gate. Escapee dogs are dangerous because the park is so close to both the road and the parking lot. In the lot just in front of the dog park were some model plane enthusiasts who were flying their planes low around and over the park. Mostly this was OK but some of the models were really loud and scared or upset the dogs. A quieter area might have been better. There were a couple of stations that provided bags for dog cleanup as well as a spigot but no bowl, so bring your own water/bowl if you go. There is a sign up saying that they intend to expand the dog park and include an area specifically for little dogs. I think I may check back then and see if it's improved at all but between now and then I don't think I'll be back. read more

The old airpark ist still getting going, but its still super nice to check out now! Blue Ash has moved their concert events to this park, and it certainly helps the crowd! If you've gone to Red, White, and Blue Ash or Taste of Blue Ash in the past, you know its super crowded and if you don't set up early, you're going to have a hard time seeing the concert. This new space makes it so much easier! It's wide open, although they still cram vendors into small rows, but the events are much more enjoyable now. Although gone are the jumbotron type screens to see if you were in the back. But as for the park itself, they've added some trails, and you can use the runways as trails too! To run, bike, skateboard, whatever! It's kind of neat to walk around an old airport strip. The parking is not so plentiful yet, but that's coming too. I can't wait to enjoy this place more once it's all up and ready and pretty! read more

There is still construction going one, which has deterred me from bringing my toddler for quite some time and I regret it! Hidden right past the brown dog cafe is the best playground I have ever seen! A wonderful little tikes section that you can actually sit down with ease and watch your toddler play and not hover and chase in case they fall from a distance. They have an adorable 'grassy waves' section equipped with cardboard 'surfboards' that the older kids were surfing along. The cafe is a nice touch when you get hungry. Huge trails as well as big swings for adults to sit as they watch their children play in the empty grassy field. Favorite park for sure read more

This place has the worst ice skating rink in all of the Midwest. The rink location has potential and they just throw it down the drain. They put some 2 ft by 2 ft melting ice cube and call it an ice rink. You have to make reservations for COVID which idc about that, but the rink melted and they didn't care to tell me and I show up and it's closed. There were huge puddles bigger than the ice. You could've gone wakeboarding, tubing or kayaked on those things. Not only that, but that morning I had received an email that my reservation was still on. Horrid system they have set up and I would NOT EVER go there and would not waste my time even looking at that place. Allegedly, if I don't cancel my "reservation" I'll be BANNED, but with that experience I'd rather be. read more

This park has good walking trails, a dog park, and nice kids area with AstroTurf. The big negative which I am hoping that they will address over the years is the lack of shade especially in the kids area. It can become quite hot on a sunny day so bring water and sunscreen. Summit fest is nice event with good country acts. I have yet to try the restaurants at the park. read more

This is a great place to play for kids and adults alike. Big open space with a big grassy field, free parking, clean bathrooms, restaurants and a ginormous kids activity zone. My one beef with this place is that there is NO SHADE to be found whatsoever in/around the kids zone. So gets really hot on a sunny day. read more

This is a really nice park with a lot to offer and this two-star rating is only intended to draw attention to a safety issue. My wife broke her wrist while ice skating at the rink on 12/26/18. It seems like everyone had the same idea to go skating during the holiday season and the rink was very congested...too congested. In attempting to avoid collapsing upon a young inexperienced skater that had fallen in front of her, she herself fell and broke her wrist. After E.R. and during an appointment setting visit with the hand surgeon, we discovered that another patron of the Summit ice rink had just visited them the day before with an identical break. Indeed, people who visit such venues assume responsibility for the risks associated with such activities, but perhaps the park managers could exercise a bit of crowd control to avoid unfortunate incidents such as these in the future. read more

I adore how this park is coming along. Right now they have a temporary dog park set up, but a good group of pups come to play. The facilities are fabulous and the park is very well maintained. I love the farmers market every Wednesday during the spring and summer months too. read more

Lots of green space to run around in/have picnics. The playground is great, but suited for kids who are at least 3. My kids were too small to play on most of the structures. It'd be nice if they had a more for 2 year olds. There are 3 or 4 restaurants moving in to the buildings next to the playground. Senate (gourmet hot dog shop from OTR) is one of them. Seriously, my son's new favorite playground. It's a little out of the way, but we're willing to make the drive. In rush hour. That's how good it is. You want to pull into the park at the main parking lot (there is a light at this intersection off of Glendale Milford). Then you walk down the path, past a green construction fence decorated with hand drawn neon images. The play structure is quite different. I think what people notice first are the "grassy" (fake grass) hills that line the playground. They're designed for sliding down and climbing up. Many a time, I've seen kids take pieces of cardboard to increase their speed. Secondly, while it does have some slides, the entire playground is pretty much ropes and climbing. It's kind of a free for all. You can make what you want of the space, which is just so darn cool. It's an open invitation to climb and explore. Finally, my son loves the teeter-totter. It's a four person teeter totter. Many times parents are there pushing it up and down for the little folk, but I was happy to see some kids get in the middle and operate themselves the last time I was there. I also saw a kid fall off the teeter totter and get hurt (how hurt, not sure...I think he was more startled than hurt), but he was standing up and not holding on when he fell. I do wish the teeter totter had more options for strapping children in, since the small ones also want to join in the fun (I mean, it's in the preschool playground so it should be small kid friendly!), and no child so far that I've seen has made use of the little itty-bitty metal handles...but maybe it's something they can grow into? I think what impresses me most about this park is that it truly engages children young and old. I saw young teens (13/14?) clearly enjoying the space alongside preschoolers. How many parks can make that happen? read more

This is a beautiful, yet up + coming park! Lots of open space, awesome porch swings, a walking trail + amazing restaurants nearby. They're still renovating + building the area, but it's a great place to enjoy the outdoors. It is very dog + kid friendly, too! read more

I have had to update my review from a few months' back. I complained about the lack of bathrooms but I didn't realize that the tower has facilities. This is a wonderful park and I am there several times a week. It is unfortunate that there was a recent problem with vandalism. What a shame that people find it fun to damage public spaces. read more

I don't think I've ever Yelped a park before but this park deserves mass props. The playground area is SO creative! I love the turf hill and the giant see-saw with seats. It's a beautifully maintained park; the giant lawn swings are amazing. The community is very lucky to have this area. read more
